  1. Morrowind was so hilariously broken that it wasn't funny. On the one hand, the game was easy as hell, and one the other hand, it was also extremely easy to get very, very powerful. In the end, my mage didn't really bother with spells and such and just hacked everything into tiny fish-bits with the Crescent. Some other character I made I powerleveled my enchant skill and then got the vampiric ring. 200-300 life/sta taken per second for ten seconds at a ridiculously low charge cost due to enchanting skill = madness. Seriously. Morrowind is the only game I've ever played where you don't have to powerlevel to own anything and everything without any effort at all.
  2. RE4 >>>> all when it comes to VA. You hand comes off???
  3. By the way, for those of you n00bz that haven't played the aforementioned "Blood", here's a lil' link to a certain abandonware site containing one of the best shooters ever made. Perfectly legal... or so I am told. http://www.abandonia.com/games/103/Blood.htm Download, install, and get ready to kick some zombie ass.
  4. Duke Nukem, Blood, et al > all. I just hope DNF doesn't do a "Blood 2"- even though to be fair, that game was rather okayish. "Open for business!" "Sonuvabitches must pay!" "EheheheheHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" "I... live... again!" Etc etc. Christ, those were some classic gaming moments, right there. Cheesy one-liners > u.
  5. I don't think "hard" or "impossible" should be used when it comes to MW combat. Click. Click. Click. Just position the camera behind the PC and then get on with your index-finger-intensive strategyfest.
  6. Personally, there comes a point where I don't really care about graphics, anymore. And I certainly won't care wheter PD:Z will run on revolution or not, seeing as the game will most likely be infinitely inferior to the good ol' PD. Rare titles post M$ assimilation = mediocre suckage. We'll see if PD:Z changes that, but IMHO the graphical style of the crap is 'orrible- I'm not expecting much, not anymore.
  7. To steer the thread away from Darque's dark daggerfall designs (I deserve to be shot for that, by the way), the best "game" I have ever played turned out to be a quasi-hentai game story depicting the story of some hobo and his sister who suffers from chronic renal insufficiency. Sad as hell, and my eyes were swollen for quite some time after getting one of the more sad endings. The above fact makes me somewhat uneasy, however. Ah well, never trust the japanese to be consistent in their lunacy.
  8. I found none of the "romances" particularly well-done. So I'll just vote Atton, because that non-romance did have the least amount of romance.
  9. Hate you? No. Pity you? There can be no doubt...
  10. Alright, this is probably OT seeing as the thread has evolved quite a bit from the original premise, but what the hell. Playing WoW and looking forward to the new Zelda game. That one is going to rawk, I can feel it.
  11. Actually, that would be my sentiments exactly. Well, until I played the game, that is. :/
  12. Crying like a mofo after finishing Kana Little Sister. My eyes were irritated for days after that. No other game even comes close to being as emotional as any part of Kana, and the ending I got was... horrible. I felt depressed for quite a while afterwards- yeah, I'm a wuss, I know.
  13. I remember playing Descent like a mofo with my friends over the school's LAN back in the day. Those were the times, really. Interplay has done quite a few good games before BIS- and also quite a few flops, too. But Descent will always have a special place in my heart.
  14. It pains me to say it (well, not really), but... Volo is right.
  15. Oh my god- the thread, it still lives!
  16. Wasn't really planning on buying a 360, anyway. The next-gen nintendo and sony consoles are much, much higher priorities than M$'s swill.
  17. @Metadigital: THAT'S NOT A LITERATURE QUOTE, FOOL. And come on now, people. I realize Meta might have a hard time at it owing it to his inherent uncoolness, but the rest of you should really come up with more quotes. In the vast sea of stupidity (read: fiction) out there that owes its existance to hyperactive and deranged imaginations across the globe, it shouldn't really be hard to come up with something a teensy tiny bit extra stupid, now should it?
  18. ... ...Desperate?
  19. Actually, my memories of the good ol' days of D2 might be a bit off, but as far as I remember, things were distinctly... uncomplicated, really. Jabazons for teh win and all that. And perhaps it's just my noobishness, but remove curses? AFAIK you just waited them out. It's not a "hell of a lot more" than KOTOR, actually. Maybe a bit more fast paced (clickclickclickclickclickclick and all that...) but not very complicated, not in the least.
  20. Screw the forum- write an article about me. Either that, or Volourn. I'm sure he'll pay you back once he's taken over the world.
  21. This is a common argument- and extremely stupid, to boot. I suppose any rock is evil next because Hitler could have used it to bash in some poor jew's head. I fail to see the logic in this.
  22. Oh, please. Apart from the fact that I don't find your petty views on good and evil all that useful, what is in contention here is not wheter Revan was nice or bad but wheter or not she weakened the republic knowingly. By using the above reasoning, I could simply say that the ones responsible for building any given nuclear plant as "evil" by just supplying off some nice and warm meltdown as the ulterior motive. Wheter or not Malak got out of control once Revan "died" has to be put into proper context as well- ergo, as in wheter or not Revan planned on "dying" in the first place. Intent is often quite central to moral discourse, after all... To ask a rather rhetorical question: is it? It all depends on what you choose to view as "evil", you know. And even then, what other path were there? Understand that you make this assumption with no knowledge whatsoever of the alternatives presented to her- therefore, the "if she was good she'd have done something else" rhetoric is rather... lacking. What if there wasn't something else to do? And yes, to preempt your possible retort, here, I can safely say that I argue in the matter with little knowledge as well. The difference is of course that I choose not to dispute what seems to be official K2 canon when it comes to these matters. Wheter or not Revan is "evil" in the quiant little sense many people have propagated here is not in contention, and the issue isn't all that useful, either. However, wheter or not she wanted to save the galaxy and wheter or not she *did* save the galaxy is another matter entirely. Obviously. Consider, for a moment, that there would be no republic at all were it not for Revan, due to the quaint little mandalorian incursion. Also, consider that Bastila's apprehension of Revan might not have been a planned event- before you're going to write off Revan's scheme as one of personal conquest with the fate of the galaxy at stake, put it in proper context.
  23. There probably is. That said, I must find something even more horrible, too! I'll be damned if I'm going to loose out on the bragging rights winning a stupid romance novel quote competition entails!
  24. Uh... "lucky enough" to discover Malachor V? What in the 666 layers of the abyss is that supposed to mean?
