  1. Is the book written by Salvatore? If so, I'm expecting enjoyment on par with the quality of his fighting scenes.
  2. Stephen King's Dreamcatcher (brilliant characterizations, stupid plot), some stuff on swedish civil law, and, uh, the most idiotic romance novel ever. Or rather, it could be the best one written in the genre for all I know, seeing as I'm generally not in the habit of reading stupid drivel. It's still bloody stupid, though. Hallmark, it's name is.
  3. RE is all about cheap scares. It's rather fun, in a campy sort of way. When it comes to pure horror, however, it's got nothing compared to the creeping, atmospheric madness such as Thief III (Hint: Shalebridge Cradle) or Silent Hill (or so I've been told).
  4. Have you ever entertained the notion that the game might not have failed to those who actually found it fun, majority be damned? Writing the game off as a failure because of the fact that a majority of the ones who played it didn't appreciate it might not always be such a good idea. It's all about context, you know.
  5. The Dantooine courtesy of the original game.
  6. To my knowledge, "dark side" for a non-jedi isn't really the same thing. And why would Canderous "fall", then? Canderous' character actually grew in KotOR, and at the end of the road he wasn't really the person he was at the beginning. KotORII ignored this- something which I am loath to consider a "feature". It's a flaw, pure and simple.
  7. No self-respecting ninja would "wield" a bukkake.
  8. Watch matrix cuz it is liek teh depp!!11 Err... I'll just chime in here and recommend Serial Experiment Lain, if you're into anime.
  9. So, it seems I'll be getting back to WoW soon enough. Yay, I guess.
  10. Exactly. The whole non-cartoon approach to good and evil was very promising, and in some respects, it delivered, too. But it still felt rather incomplete. When you fall too much to the dark side, for example, Kreia asks you something which escapes me at the moment- but anyway, all you can reply with is various forms of arrogant drivel along the lines of "I am in control of the force!!! hahahaha!1!!!", etc. There's no room for other motivations to go dark side than pure arrogance and powerlust in Starwarsland! This is rather meh, since my character wouldn't really be cruel just for the heck of it (scheming and manipulative, sure. But baby-eating? No.), nor would he have any illusions regarding having "control of the force". If for nothing else, Revan did demonstrate (or at leas the game tells me so, along with that he was a genius and THE BEST EVER and so on and so forth) there might be many reasons behind someone falling, for example... ...such as the fact that Handmaiden clad all in black looks totally hawt. I agree. Too bad, that. It can also be said that character development across the board in KotORII was generally rather poor, too. The game had rather interesting characters, but sadly most of them just stood there. I guess it is a matter of preference, but I always found the NPC's in KotORII to be more... static. I'd have loved to have more worthwhile talks to NPC's such as Atton, Visas, Mandalore, but the game really disappointed me in that regard.
  11. Romance, with handmaiden? Oooh, your stance is so... deep! At to which one replies "well, at least one of us is, hon". Seriously, the 'romances' in KotORII felt too... high school. Like the retarded Eowyn/Aragorn adaption in the movies. Oh well.
  12. Why? At the end of the original, he's convinced that the life he's led maybe wasn't that much to brag about, after all. I don't see how 'trust' or new social relations factor into this issue. If I realize that gambling is bad for my economy, then it makes little sense that I should continue to gamble, but only do so at the start of a new relationship, now does it? The aforementioned realization isn't centered around others, now is it? Of course, there are ways one could explain his newfound fervor, but the problem is that the game doesn't do that. As a character, he's still stuck in the proverbial stoneage, which is rather annoying. He's about as interesting in KotorII as T3 was in the original. Which is to say 'as interesting as watching paint dry', really.
  13. Uhhh.... As metadigital said, turn off "show movies" in the config utility. I had the same problem until I did so, too. And the search function is there for a reason, you know.
  14. ...when you start threads like these.
  15. There is NOTHING better than a true italian pizza baked in one of those authentic wood ovens. Nothing, I tell you. Quattro Formaggi = food for the gods.
  16. How so? In basically all aspects that count, the game does pick up where Revan left off, albeit from a different perspective. This is especially true when you look at NPC's such as Carth and Bastila, and how they act in KotORII. And the character development among the NPC's in KotORII was horrible, really.
  17. I'd lay traps if it could lead to me capturing Darque. Then I could truly harness the power of spam! I'd could have some evil villain's exposition to go with it, as well! So, spammer, you are awake. It is time for more... experiments! Ah well, one can dream...
  18. If you're speaking about Mandalore and being retarded, the truly idiotic thing in KotORII was that it totally eschewed any and all development of Canderous' personality in KotOR. He's back to the person he was at the beginning of the original game, not the person he ended up in the original.
  19. Rampant oversimplifications and two-dimensional baby eating-villains? In a Bioware game? Gee, who would've thought!
  20. (Goverment health warning: the post below represents about 37.6% of your recommended daily rant intake) Seriously, I'm not all that concerned with KotORIII right now, since I doubt it will actually feature a world/story free of the many annoyances so common in most RPGs. I wouldn't mind it seeing the light of day, but then again, IMO the story has some problems that really need to be adressed first, plus there's the whole LA thing. I don't care much for the franchise- as long as I get a good RPG, I'm content. In my younger and more naive days I might have said that I'm more looking forward to Dragon Age, but seeing as Bio is developing it I'll just err on the side of experience and say that the game is going to have a semi-inept cliche-riddled story with the depth of a small puddle, with Amazing Opportunities To Be Evil such as calling the milkmaid a "wench" (ooh!) or asking for a reward (aah!) after defending a town from some random horde of orcs. Ah well, I'll probably buy it anyway, I guess. Love them or hate them, but deep games certainly aren't Bioware's forte.
  21. Bah. I laugh at your pathetic attempt. Volourn would never "r00fle" at me! My point was simply that in the US, the lower echelon within society is the one that tends to gravitate towards overweight and malnutrition- while the higher echelon usually eat more healthy and nutritious food. It's an interesting situation, and one that is fundamentally different to how things might have been only a scant few centuries ago. This probably has more to do a lack of knowledge regarding how to prepare more healthy food- TV dinners aren't exactly cheaper than homemade food, if you actually know what you're doing. It's the same here in Sweden, up to a point. "Convenience food" and similar "junk" is on the rise, simply because people do not know how to - or lack the inclination/time necessary to - cook.
  22. Uh, why? Revan might have been a great fighter, sure (she/he killed personally Yusanis to destabilize the Echani worlds, for example), but unstoppable? Hardly. If I am to believe what each and every NPC in both games go around and yap about all day, Revan's strength was manipulation, not combat. I'd guess that when it comes to the latter aspect, he/she wasn't all that special as modern-day Sith Lords go. Powerful? Sure. M-M-M-MONSTER KILL? I doubt it..
  23. Can I have a mountain dew?
