  1. There will be no antidote. The whole issue will be fixed, soon enough. The "corrupted blood" effect is contracted from Hakkar the Soulflayer, and it was never meant to spread outside the instance he is located in (Zul'Gurub). There was a similar thing with the "Warlock Suicide Terrorist" thing before. Warlocks would intentionally let their pets contract the "living bomb" debuff, then desummon them and resummoning them in the capital cities. The buff was still there after resummoning them, and after that they usually made short work of the auction houses with their crazy damage suicide explosions. EDIT: The whole ordeal isn't as funny or terrific as it sounds. It's just an exploit that allows high level characters to grief lowbies of their own faction- keep them from doing quests, selling stuff, perusing their mailbox, what have you. Likewise no "death squads" or "pest control" or anything similar in sight, nor paranoia, nor any quaranties (you couldn't enforce them even if you tried) It all sounds extremely dramatic and cool, sure, but trust me- it isn't.
  2. Ah, for the love of peace. I generally prefer poopsocking in WoW to writing long posts on these forums, but for you and your almost comical inability to stay on target I'll make an exception once I've catched the bus, Hurlshot.
  3. I can, off the top of my head, name maybe six or seven US. presidents. This, according to Hurlshotian "logic" obviously means that there haven't been more than that number of presidents in office, or for that matter, in existence. I mean, I could have just forgotten the names of the others, or I could just be, you know, very ignorant when it comes to the subject of US. presidency throughout the years, but... nah.
  4. Uh, right. The "challenge", in this case, would be to cast one or two simple wards before a fight. Instant death spells (disintegrate, FoD, DS, etc) are very seldom used by the enemy. And when they are, a simple death ward will keep them at bay. There are no similar spells for protecting against 20 hp crits in Baldur's Gate 1.
  5. The interesting thing with Nintendo's insanities is that they usually work. Well, apart from the Virtual Boy, perhaps, but that's that. As crazy as the idea sounds... I actually think they'll pull it off. Guess I'll see when I buy it.
  6. First of all, Ground Control 1 is the best friggin' RTT game ever. Second of all, Volo can be an extremely retarded troll when he wants to be, but that's hardly news to anyone not born five minutes ago. Considereding that EA shredded any hint of originality from the C&C universe with the utterly stupid and lamerican "Generals" thing, it really doesn't matter. The C&C series was not perfect, far from it. But it was miles ahead of the soulless crap that is the Generals series. And I was totally looking forward to Tiberium Twilight, too. :/ EA makes bland, bland crap. Compare, say, the Rare 007 title to the hordes of different 007 games produced by EA. Behold such spectacular turkeys such as "The Urbz". Electronic Arts is the proverbial king Midas in reverse of the gaming industry. Everything they touch turns to crap in one way or another.
  7. The intro screen music from BG II and ToB. Also the Asylum music from VtM:BL.
  8. Why is the guy/gal in your avatar, Darkside?
  9. Are there currently any plans to implement NINJAS and PIRATES into the mod?
  10. Darth Malak was like, the deepest villain EVAR.
  11. MMOs are not addictive. I can stop whenever I want, I tell you- I just don't want to. Wheter you will feel that it gives you "nothing" or not by the end of the day depends on what you're after, really. There's no real finality in most MMOs- you never save the princess, you never get to watch the credits roll, and for every encounter there's a slightly more difficult one ahead. But then again, there's no sense of finality in The Sims, either- and akin to said game, the only final goal you might have in a MMO will be one you've come up for yourself. That said, I enjoy WoW. I enjoy playing it, but I know that I will never enjoy "finishing" it. And I guess I'll continue with it until I don't find playing it enjoyable any more.
  12. He who controls the past, commands the future. He who controls the future, conquers the past. <3 <3 <3
  13. You realize that now I have to go back and play Tiberian Sun now right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have to do so too. <_< Such an underrated game. :/
  14. Indeed, Mus.
  15. Calax, I agree, but I still think CABAL is a mite more cool. Easily one of the top-contenders in the "mad AI" department, I'd say. Plus, his voice > SHODAN's voice, easily. "The systems are impenetrable. There are no weak points. The technology is without flaw. The Human element, as always, is riddled with imperfection."
  16. CABAL. "The Brotherhood is at an evolutionary dead end. I am the only salvation to the continued supremacy of Nod. It is my world now. Listen to the sounds of your own extinction, human."
  17. What was wrong with Kane? I thought he was an ok guy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Didn't he win some sort of award for best game villain way back or something? Well, regardless of the above, Kane pwnt. I prefered him to that Yuri crap in the more "professional" EA title, for one thing.
  18. Never found GW to be that interesting, really. So I'm more partial to the big update WoW will be getting next week or possibly the week after that. A new 20-man instance and a new 15-man battleground. Can't wait.
  19. Obviously. CTDs? Disconnects? There are a lot of things that could interrupt or disrupt a multiplayer game, especially one that takes +6 hours to complete. A game on a large world with many participants can take even longer. This coupled with the lack of a save function is not clever game design.
  20. The worst thing about Civ III wasn't the AI. It has always "cheatz0red teh gaym", so to speak- I didn't mind it in Civ II, nor did I in Civ III. The problem was that the multiplayer, much like a singleplayer match, took *ages*. And in a fit of grotesque stupidity, Firaxis didn't include something so basic as a save function, fer chrissakes. Yeah, sure, playing five hours only to restart after a CTD is *loads* of fun. >_>
  21. I never said you said it either, Mus. Blame Baley.
  22. Wrong. If you're sneaky and dishonest you won't loose your equipment, and regardless, when you import a character you will be able to choose a kit (as well as voice, appearance, etc). I can't remember wheter it allows wizards to cross over into sorcerers or not, so I suppose there might be that...
  23. I don't remember any specifics, but I think you could find a few of your magical equipments scattered around the prison. But I could easily be wrong since I play the new classes most of the times. I think you can raise your stats during the expansion pack. It's not really an option when importing to BG2, but you do start with a few more levels by finishing the expansion pack. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Minor spoils: *The Manual of Bodily Health can be found in the flesh golem cave. Yes, the one Safana has cased looking for the phat lewt supposedly contained inside. *The Manual of Gainful Exercise can be found in the Candlekeep catacombs. *The Tome of Leadership and Influence can be found in a cave near the Gnoll Stronghold. *The Manual of Quickness of Action can be found in a barrel behind Black Lily (BG thieves guild). *The Tome of Clear Thought can be found in Ramaziel's tower. *One Tome of Understanding can be found from a certain quest ("Lothandar's Geas") in Baldur's Gate. *Another one can be found inside the Candlekeep Catacombs. Can't remember where you find the third one. You need the expansion for it if memory servers.
  24. AFAIK only teh warriorz can attain grandmastery in any given weapon category. So you're better off putting it in some other weapon category such as two-handed/bastard swords, just in case. (Not familiar with the itemization in IWD so I can't guarantee that any of the aforementioned weapon skills will be useful there)
