Actually I agree that Cabrera will win the MVP. But he's not the best player in the AL and really did not produce as many wins as Trout did for the Angels. My point is that it's not as clear cut that Cabrera should win the MVP as the advanced metrics clearly state that Trout is the more valuable player - in spite of not being in a playoff contending team. Intriguing piece by Rany Jazyerli on Trout and Cabrera: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9715559/mike-trout-quest-mvp-great-performance-major-league PS Slightly off topic rant...but I really dislike OPS. OBP and SLG should not be combined together (A+B =C) and used as a stat. It greatly discounts extreme players such as (going back in history) Brett Butler or on the other side, Andre Dawson.

A firm and thorough knowledge of each professional player's true worth, an explicit understanding of market inefficiencies, and the application of turning such insight into winning baseball. tl;dr - score more runs than the other team before you run out of your 27 outs.

Why have you come here?
On and off poster/lurker on the old Black Isle and Interplay boards dating back to TotSC. Was hugely entertained by all the trolls and flame wars and stuck around. Followed Bio after the NWN schism in 2001. Heard the old Black Isle gang got back together and are opening new boards on Feb 7, 2004. Signed up on Feb 8.

My Rome: Total War 2 review
I've stopped playing for the time being but I am liking and appreciative that CA is addressing many of the raised concerns. R2 definitely has the makings to be a really good game, but time will tell if they can really salvage the game from its current state. I'll revisit in a few weeks/months and will be fairly optimistic CA has bought plenty of goodwill from their past catalog.

Happy 1 Year Kickstarter Anniversary :D
Maybe it would be more appropriate for the anniversary date to take place on the actual funding date?

The NFL 2013 Thread
3 points and barely 200 yds allowed and 5 turnovers forced is a major beat down. I agree; those guys are scary good. 136 decibels whilst in the huddle and line of scrimmage can mess up any offensive play calling. Seattle definitely has the home crowd advantage there. They were publicly and unashamedly trying to (and successfully) break the world record for loudest sporting event. Just so happens they purposely crank it up when the. 49ers have the ball.

What you having for dinner tonight?
Bolognese style ragout with pappardelle. Technically they're leftovers from last night. ...If I'm taking the time to do a proper ragout, damn straight I'm gonna make a lot of it.

Facebook games that are actually interesting?
Yeah, Dragon Age Legends was pretty good. It was designed by Soren Johnson - the lead designer for Civ IV, IMO the best of the series. You can still get it here: http://dragonagelegends.com/

Dragon Age: Inquisition
If I recall, Dragon Age was announced in spring (May?) 2004 and Elevation bought BioWare in 2005. They were sold to EA right after ME was released in 2007. I wonder if the doctors have already squandered all their cash in booze yet?
