  1. A String Raise is a faux pas commited by amateur poker players who watch too many Bond movies, in which they "see your (x) and raise you (y). It's bad form and when called out by other players, not legal. In essence a player could theoretically exploit the situation by calling the raise, gauge a tell, then re-raise. ...plus, individual threads are made of string, and so I was really proud of that pun.
  2. I'll see your material -- silk -- and raise you one type of that material -- spider. Then my t-shirt will be BULLETPROOF! 8D! #"string" raise. ...Amateur. Tsk.
  3. Chris Kluwe's prose is excellent. http://deadspin.com/i-was-an-nfl-player-until-i-was-fired-by-two-cowards-an-1493208214
  4. Cotton/polyester blend (50/50 or 60/40) produces really soft/comfortable shirts.
  5. 1) You can purchase now and receive the steam key when it becomes available: http://eternity.obsidian.net/buy 2) At certain levels, Obsidian will release an Eternity cookbook written by Tim Cain. Try those recipes. 3) Sure, why not? Just so long as there's no romance baggage attached. Shag and bounce. 4) Happy New Year!

Well he was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. This would count, if true. Cavs don't owe him an apology at all. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports was the one who broke the "lost love of playing basketball" story, citing several sources. Wojo has been pretty reliable with his sources over the years. Look, if he doesn't want to commit the rest of his playing window to being a professional basketball player, that's fine -let him walk and find his bliss.

Forgot about Oden. Well, we'll see what happens after Jan. 7 when contracts become guaranteed.
  9. I heard about this one but wasn't interested. ...Then I saw the trailer. Also this: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/11447722/rubber-band-machine-gun-0 Rubberband Machine Gun.

Nope. I'm putting this on Bynum. If he's got a beef, he'll take it to the Union and if he's got a good case, arbitration will reward him. If Latrell Sprewell got his money back for choking his coach, surely Bynum will get it back too, right??

Bottom line is that he quit on his team and he quit on his teammates. Teams will give a lot of leeway for 7 footers with tantalizing skills. He had to have crossed then ran a victory lap through again and around, and back and forth that line in order for Cleveland to kick him out.
  12. Doesn't seem like it would take too many resources to set this up and would be fun to play around with. They had this included in the Fallouts, NWN2, and IWD2 too.
  13. Bring back the bandit scalp mechanic. Bounty Hunters FTW!
  14. That would be in the Steam version. Don't think GOG or cd version will have achievements.
  15. Well the Orlans Cipher Detective NPC is armed with a pistol.
  16. In what manner did I insult your way of playing RPGs? If anything, I was engaging you over semantics regarding your use of "patches" and using cheats to get your character to godlike super status. I also voiced my disagreement over your ideas in general and in particular of your idea of a special secret access sub forum of like minded players. So just because I disagreed with you and that I didn't write anything that YOU considered to be constructive criticism calls for calling me narrow-minded? R00fles.. Let's recap - trying to avoid strawmen and red herrings here... You wrote that you reached level 50 and achieved 25 scores across the board via normal, albeit obsessive play through. I asked how you did that. I suggested that it wasn't possible due to the level cap and other factors. CLUA Console is easiest way. You wrote that CLUA was cheating and you do things naturally through a "patch." Look, I really don't care how you play your single player game. Play as you like, mod as you like, cheat as you like. It's a single player game and we can enjoy it as however we want to. But a patch is a patch and a mod is not a patch. Anything that modifies the game that allows you to enhance your abilities beyond the normal scope of the game as designed is a cheat. Let's not be disingenuous and try to cast stones shall we? PS my favorite CLUA cheat is The Great Gonzo and I welcome all others to try it. Hilarious.
  17. Looks like Mike Shanahan is getting canned. Surprise surprise...
  18. As I understand it, a cipher would need to charge their psionic abilities through physical engagement. So at the very least, we know that a melee aggressive build is at least viable -or even optimal. http://eternity.gamepedia.com/Cipher
  19. No muliti-classing in the first game . But playing a cipher would be intriguing.
  20. Picked up Papers, Please and FTL a few days ago. Dabbled a little bit with both but probably won't get a solid run in for some time. Both look promising. But I still need to finish through DA: Awakenings, DA2, and ME3. Plus XCOM: Enemy Within is beckoning.
  21. Nasi Goreng. Indonesian style fried rice. Think normal Chinese fried rice but adding the following components: Shallots Terasi (shrimp paste) Sambal (Indonesian chili sauce) Sweet soy sauce
  22. There will be reactivity based on your past deeds and reputation, but not necessarily because your party is level 19 and everyone else are level 3 sword fodder.

Cleveland is in meltdown mode. Anthony Bennet is giving Micheal Olowokandi a run for biggest #1 pick bust title and teammates are grumbling that Kyrie Irving has become a ball-hog (In his defense, I would be too if no one else can score). Then there is this whole Bynum conundrum. Sucks to be Dan Gilbert. Look, players like Bynum are still human beings too, and yeah it's easy for us to cast stones and all. Then again, Bynum does carry some baggage with him -so there's history there too. So...how about that Boogie Cousins? All Star?? In the interest of full disclosure, I revel in his on-court meltdowns. Entertaining stuff.
  24. I'm pretty intrigued by the idea that followers of Magran - Goddess of War and Fire may have an affinity and expertise of firearms. http://eternity.gamepedia.com/Cadegund
