  1. Its a bit weird, especially considering FNVs development.
  2. Question: Why weren't they checked yet? The issue is from september 3rd. (Other issues from these days as well)
  3. Eh, I don't have any fear they will, or that it will stay as such till release.
  4. I really doubt this is going to be the final implementation of it in any case,
  5. For anyone wondering: Kieran Yanner did the cover. The same guy who did this one
  6. Actually SA closes from time to time for a while. Usually its viewable though, yes.
  7. The curiosity is killing me and I cant help but feel that Im reading that wrong. Is the reasoning that his browser will not point to forums.obsidian.net or that he is not able to use the login feature when he gets here? AFAIK it doesn't let him log into his account.
  8. Weird. It's a public web forum. Just log in with your public web forum account. It's not like he needs to authenticate to Active Directory using a RAS or VPN tunnel... to post on a public web forum, that all the rest of us are posting on without those things. ? He doesn't have a public account here. He has his dev account and thats it. I agree with Lychnidos. What makes the story also more believable to me is that I haven't seen many posts by Obs devs outside of office hours.
  9. Gromnir has been doing his charachter for ~15 years now. You aren't the first to complain about it and you aren't going to be the last. Hell, Bioware put a charachter in Throne of Baal (I think?) based on him.
  10. As in the Sawyer quote I just posted the XP system is set up to be changed quite easily So why shouldn't they if the additional solution doesn't overly interfere with design goals?
  11. Thanks for sharing. Source? SA It was an answer to a question on how difficult it would be to change parts of the XP system (due to of course balancing issues). Sawyer's response was *Not very* and elobarated on it with that comment.
  12. But as I said and tried to show that they didn't had decide that point when they launched their kickstarter campaign, and not even that point of time when campaign ended and as we have seen experience system is still not carved in stone. But they gave us their design goals which they aim to achieve with system that they will design with money they got, and as I already said I think that they have achieved quite well. I'm just saying, a link on their front page reading "How our vision differs (and hopefully improves upon) the Infinity Engine games", or similar would have been great. There it could have read "currently, killing enemies does not reward experience as it did in the IE games. We feel that blah blah blah." I'm certainly not saying the game (or their achievement of design goals) is a failure. And anyway, I don't want to belabor the point further. My original point with this line of discussion is that the folks who were surprised/disappointed when winning (tought) fights yielded no experience, had a valid response. But they hadn't had decided that they wouldn't have experience reward from killing during kickstarter campaign even if Josh and Tim were leaning towards that direction and after campaign ended and decision was made in some point of time after it would have been quite useless to add such disclaimer, I would say. Edit: Seems like I was wrong. Anyway, I remember it being quite a headache to update the frontpage in general.
  13. The main point of the BB is testing/commenting on the mechanics of the game for issues. Theres not really a problem with waiting for significant changes to update.
  14. Uhm (Response is from September 19th) They also responded once inbetween those messages saying that the other versions will most likely release around the next patch. Said patch hasn't released yet. (But probably will this week).
  15. Sawyer is a goon since 2001. He's posted there for years and multiple projects. Its more that Sawyer posts a bit less these days over here than he did before (especially as compared to NWN2 AFAIK). I remember him not posting much during Fallout: NV over here either. Though, in that case the offical forums were over at Bethesda of course. I do think he tells the truth when he talks about not being able to get on his dev account during his free time at home and that being a reason. But on the other hand he never bothered too much to get it really fixed. Which is a valid complaint.
  16. Actually EA owns them (At least for non-mobile videogames)
  17. I was under the impresion that design lead/ project lead didn't necessarily mean the one resposnible for the gameplay/systems. If i'm wrong then yes, Avellone has some clear flaws. Its part of it and you are basically responsible for the overall feel in that department. (in Obsidians current work environment) Not that I don't want to see any Chris designed games anymore (I personally enjoyed some of the quirks in Dead Money). In a sense he's perfect for leading DLC's where he can experiment without it being too big a deal.
