  1. So I would not take anything that companies say in their public statements at their face value. Except that wasn't an official statement? That was a forum post. It's like Sawyer or Adam telling us something. It is post for public by person acting in her position as CEO of company, so I would say it is public statement from Paizo, even if it isn't full blown press release. Companies can be very genuine in their public statements, but lots things can change even in couple months that will change their plans or cause plans to fall through. When Sawyer or Adam tell us something it is usually considering details about projects that they are working on, not deals that Obsidian is planing with other companies, which makes what they much less volatile. Except that deal is a reality right now. Something she IS working on. It isn't any different. And again Pazio isn't Nokia. They are a (comparativly) small company as well. (Also she said it in fact casually, like the hints she dropped yesterday)
  2. So I would not take anything that companies say in their public statements at their face value. Except that wasn't an official statement? That was a forum post. It's like Sawyer or Adam telling us something. And Pazio isn't exactly Nokia or Microsoft.
  3. We don't actually know if the crpg isn't being worked on as well. As I posted No details to announce doesn't mean if said crpg isn't in a very early stage of production. Considering she says "will" it hints actually more at something concrete. (That's the CEO by the way)
  4. anything beyond the card game is hypothetical. HA! Good Fun! It is mentioned as long term with multiple projects both in the press release and by Pazio's CEO. which means absolutely nothing. honest. we don't know anything about the future projects and any deal can be renegotiated at any time. serious folks, other than the card game, there is nothing to see at this time. hell, how many games has bis/obsidian actual contributed serious man-hours to that eventual got cancelled? more than a couple. for folks to get excited about hypothetical future games we has Zero details about is striking us as a bit silly. *shrug* is a card game with the possibility o' complete unspecified projects down the road? huzzah? be excited if you will, but let's not blow this news out o' proportion. HA! Good Fun! It is a long term agreement. It's confirmed that there will be multiple projects, Of course this means something. By the same logic the card game is just as hypothetical. It isn't out yet, so the possiblity is very much intact its not going to be released. It can get cancelled as well. So, unless we're prophets what are we exactly discussing here?

  6. Everyone is aware that this is a long term licensing agreement and the card game adaption is just the first thing that will be made, because its the easiest/fastest thing to do, right?
  7. Thats completly new to me. I don't remember many complaints about pc performance. I wouldn't say that's *the truth*. What's your pc? Thanks though. Edit: Thinking about it some more there were some specific complaints IIRC. I think for Users of SLI Cards. Do you run two graphic cards?
  8. Obsidian did try to ask them IIRC. Now the IP's with EA (for videogames xcept moblie).
  9. They never said either. They wanted to avoid spoilers (This intro doesn't even really spoil anything. During one video he even refused to answer what the machine was at the end) and they want to avoid showing unpolished stuff (They only showed non-mage classes here probably for this reason). So, IMO they are still very much doing that.
  10. Only if that arc happens to be: looking for love in allll the wrong places. Since, you know, there are no romances in PoE. But that's my point, what if Obsidian just said that so when we do find out there is Romance its a completely unexpected surprise ? If it is it might more end up like Sonntam just described.

  13. Neither. Sierra did, but they folded. Their IP's, including Arcanum have been now for a long time at Activision.
  14. Sorry, dude, but your original post was too about romances (plural), not roleplaying options in general. You did assert that no romance = no roleplaying options, but that's an obvious non sequitur. If you had been concerned about roleplaying options, then you would have written a completely different post. Romance might have been mentioned in there somewhere, but it would not have been the main theme. Like this, for example: "Hi folks. One thing's been bugging me about P:E from the start. It's all been very mechanically oriented, and most of the stretch goals were stuff like a megadungeon, a stronghold, and more character classes. I really enjoyed the relationships I built with my party members in PS:T and BG2, and I'm concerned Obsidian might be neglecting this aspect to make a more IWD-like dungeon crawler thing. What are your thoughts on that?" Had you done that, I'm pretty sure you would've gotten a warmer reception here, and the discussion would've been better too. 'Cuz the romance thing with P:E is the to end all 's. But if the only roleplaying options that I know they are being left out are romances No I can assure you 100% with everything I've got this will not be the case. Its not possible for a crpg of all things to account for every imaginable/possible role-playing option.
  15. They both have the same amount of content. I mean, you said so yourself. So, if they both have the same amount of content... one doesn't automatically have MOAR content because they have different content. You're making huge, absolutist claims while at the same time saying that you're not. That's no way to discuss anything. No, they don't!! XD How is it possible that they do have the same amount of content? Both have let's say 5000 lines of content for friendships and the second one has 3000 more for romances (just examples). They definitely don't have the same amount of content. Maybe you are reading what I am saying as claims but I assure I am only trying to express what I think and what is only my opinon. That's all. Thats The weirdest generalization I have ever seen.
