Jade Empire must be anti-epic. Your awesome character turns out to be nothing but a convenient tool used by the true villain to remove his rival. If only the twist hadn't been so obvious.

I played both Phantasy Star and Vectorman to death on Mega Drive. Thinking about it more, those were also the days of Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, Record of Lodoss War. Then I lost interest in anime and moved over to LucasArts/Sierra adventure games.

Somehow I think there wouldn't be as much drama about the ending if in place of the retarded Star Child, there had been Cortana.

Phantasy Star II was the very first RPG I played.

Bloodrayne: Third Reich Not as terrible as I had expected it to be. After all it had some gratuitous (albeit hot) girl-on-girl action and Natassia Malthe is a fine specimen to watch.

I can't believe I only noticed now that Santorum is a Jerry Seinfeld lookalike.

This really sucks. It seems he was with Obsidian from the very beginning, too.

That trailer would work, I guess, if I hadn't already seen all movies whose scenes they blatantly rip off. So I am very angry about this abomination.

George Ziets leaving Obsidian (again) (Layoffs related?)
HoonDing replied to C2B's topic in Obsidian General
Maybe he's now at Zenimax Online again? IIRC Chris L'Etoile is there too. I noticed recently in the Dungeon Siege 3 forcum section that George Ziets was no longer marked as Obsidian developer, but thought it was a forum issue... -
Bulletstorm, Arkham Asylum and Arkham City are also on GfwL, so it's hardly a big deal. Needing to put up with Origin just for Mass Effect 3 is much worse. Not sure about Dark Souls, though, I already played Die by the Sword and Severance: Blade of darkness to death and am now too old for all this twitchy action crap. At least the Batman games kindly told me when to press the button of awesome.

Only recent game I know that does this is Venetica. It works well in any setting where weapons and armour are rare, but not so much in BioWare's typical high fantasy settings where one can literally find armour, weapons and magical jewelry in barrels.

Fallout -> Phantasy Star series PST -> Chrono Trigger BG -> Final Fantasy series (r00fles!)

I've bought three new mice with extra resilient left mouse button in preparation.

Anachronox needs a Kickstarter project!

It could still happen, Squeenix is one of the least evil publishers around. -
I'm surprised the audience didn't burst into laughter when "Decisions that matter YES!" appeared on screen. EDIT: well, nevermind that half the audience consisted of creepy cosplayers

The best part was that smug e-mail afterwards. "lol i beat u" when he actually had to resort to a gunship blowing away the floor. Worst BioWare villain ever, beating out even Melissan (the earliest example of BioWare cutscene retardedness).

The Radiant Youth
HoonDing replied to C2B's topic in Dungeon Siege III: Odo's Scribbles - Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Funny thing is that the hero of DS2 is in fact Azunai Reborn, and should still be alive at the time of DS3 (especially when the hero is an Elf or Dryad), and yet there is that Radiant Youth kiddie. -
I'd say first Agility and then Will are the most important stats for Katarina. Keep agility high enough and you have 50% critical hit chance the entire game (amplified with Call of the Hunt) and once you get the talent that restores Focus with each critical hit, as someone above mentioned you can spam (empowered) heartseeking shot forever (therefore, Will is important since it increases ability damage).

As expected and yet surprisingly well done
HoonDing replied to Cantousent's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
"Mercy in victory" and "loyalty to the Crown" are two of the pillars, so if you had promised the Queen to leave her alive it's logical to hand her over (there's the fact Jeyne would likely make a very good queen herself, so at the very least she'd be an excellent advisor to the Queen). Having Jeyne work for the Legion seems cruel considering how much she hates them for having killed her father. My decision to kill her wasn't really very true to my previous decisions in the game, but the final part of the game just pissed me off. -

I replayed it and even when I made the choice 'true to the Legion' (handing her over to the Queen), she was still murdered. Any place where I can watch all endings? Exile seems like a very bad idea. I think what bothers me the most is that I never found any great loot for Katarina that truly complemented my playstyle. Even the unique items available for purchase at the very end were virtually useless. -

Finished the game. The entire ending section kinda ruined it for me. If the game had ended at the Spire, I would've been perfectly happy, but the way things turned out with Kassynder infuriated me. As if having to endure her self-righteous prattling (in a snotty British high-born voice, to boot), the most annoying battle taunts ever and her running away 30 times weren't enough, somehow the game needed to end with a boring combat slog followed by a gimmicky bossfight. I turned the difficulty to easy to get it over with quickly. I don't know how anyone would expect the player to leave that bitch alive after all the crap she pulled at the end.
