  1. That game really needs better combat and less automated platforms. They nailed the (K&B) controls and graphics just right though. All said, a pleasing experience.
  2. We wouldn't know, I think. Obsidian may have been given very broad directions (multi-platforms with a focus on the gamepad, action-and-combat-focused, etc.) but the details and implementations were left to them.
  3. It can't be more atrocious than the camera they saddled us with in DA2 though. That thing was horrible. It's like NWN2 (minus expansions) all over again.
  4. The game was expecting to sell 1,000,000+ copies, but the prediction probably included Japanese sells, and the game still has to get out there. Plus I'm not sure those numbers include sells for all platforms, and they certainly don't include Steam sales. The claim seems to be, I'm still not sure about the exactitude of it. If Square Enix was really, really disappointed with the game's quality and/or sales, I suppose. Also if reviews were the lowest of the low.
  5. I think the words 'sane' (as used to imply that the person isn't) and 'pathetic' are enough to be considered 'personal attacks'.
  6. The Azunite Church as an organization is relatively invisible during the course of the game, the story focusing on what we can call its 'hand', Jeyne Kassynder, as the main antagonist, and the Church simply following her as they consider her to be a Saint. But Jeyne's ending when you spare her and ask her to help you rebuild Ehb has her being declared an Apostate by the Church after she asks her follower to stop fighting the Legion and the Royal Court, and she is presumably being targeted for assassination right after that. Did the Azunite Church intend to become the sole ruler of Ehb and counted on Jeyne to make it happen? Is that why they declared her an apostate, to avoid having all their believers rally to a banner that no longer intends to follow their plans? Could the Church declare open rebellion against the Crown in the near future?
  7. As in Lead Designer and Project Director, you mean? I think it's Chris Avellone.
  8. Someone who I suppose is the artist for the Walmart Comic has posted some pages on DeviantArt : http://druje.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d3lgrus He gave me some context on what's happening : Lazarus doesn't ring any bell, Vaclav however does. I think he was the same guy the Azunites were searching for in the first issue, and he's also the husband of Ludmilla. Poor guy.
  9. Doubtful, I think. That merchant is on the way to Boris' location, who is the guy you have to kill for the very first quest-giver in Raven's Rill . The one that I missed though is the one given by the hermit in the mountains, about cleaning up a cave. I went directly to the main path, and Jeyne's canons blew up the path back.
  10. He was in a lot of PR stuff for Alpha Protocol actually. Also, he's the one who was accused of running that project in the ground with unrealistic demands by an alleged former member of the Obsidian team. Besides, it's not like we hear much more from Chris Jones and Darren Monahan.
  11. Yep, Chris Parker is with Obsidian. One of the founders, even. One of three Chris in that club .
  12. Also, the blog is down. Question : I mostly lurk here and on Canard PC as far as gaming sites go, is it common practice in that day and age to ask for a refund when one didn't like a game?
  13. Same here. Although I still think that the 'Guide Dang It' thing with the human blood was unnecessary and unwelcomed. How the hell am I supposed I have to take it right now, Arkane? HOW AM I?
  14. His Extra Punctuation are more serious and generally interesting though.
  15. Nah, good old Reinhart is a pure teleporter, he cannot do rolls. He looks a little bit out of shape for that .
  16. Yeah, but it would be less problematic, since apparently not a lot of people even get to the actual level cap. A new story-mode could also be simple accompanied by new abilities for the characters, which is something that is a lot more easy to design and balance than tweaking the entire game, from the encounter system to the loot tables, in order to have a good NewGame+.
  17. Can the teleport ability get you on the other side of big enemies like big Bosses, Cyclopses or Dakkenweyrs? Because Lucas certainly can't roll through them, or at least not on the first try.
  18. Well, I keep hearing that the Entropy Stance is completely broken. You may want to focus on that?
  19. I feel your pain, this guy is hardcore. Although he would probably be a lot easier if not for the homing electrical bolts of his robots. I played him as Lucas, but I didn't have a clear strategy : abuse the healing spell, try to hurt him with a long-range ability, and never, ever stay too close to him because of his charge. Speaking of that, try to recognize it by ear and prepare yourself to dodge! That attack is probably the strongest he has!
  20. You want a PC engine capable of zooming out, and you're proposing the engine from a game with a very console-friendly interface (reportedly extremely enjoyable with a gamepad), coming up with a console port, and with a fixed third-person perspective ?
  21. I concur with Achilles, they often use their Empowered base attack in combat, but it's harder to say about the others. I think I've seen multiple projectiles come out of Katarina's rifle from time to time, so she must have used Empowered Heartseeking Shot.
  22. Is that part of the cut material you talked about in the other thread? That's good stuff . Odo's story makes me sad. In DS3, his story is already over. He spent thirty years protecting the Legion, trying to make it so that one day the Legion would be born anew. And when finally the time comes, he leaves everything to the player, while Marten continues his work as second-in-command, but no longer to him. Funny when you consider what his role in the old legion is implied to have been : scout and spy, but also assassin and questioner.
  23. DLC or expansion. The part about the election of the Grand Master being hold here could fit well with the aftermath of the first game, in which we launch the rebuild of the Legion but haven't yet started to really rebuild it.
  24. Wow, never thought that Lucas would agree to keep the Cyclopses in slavery . I expect him to accept for the Gent to be delivered to Stonebridge, as no Legionnaire is above the law, but I didn't expect this.
  25. Well, the obvious : Fallout 3. Dungeon Siege 3 as originally planned by Chris Taylor (think Space Siege).
