  1. Not that I know of. As for your concerns, we will have to trust Chris himself wouldn't have agreed to it if he didn't have anything sensible to say about the topic. Part of the reason I'm interested in it is exactly because neither Chris nor Obsidian have a history with those topics, so I'm curious to hear what he will say in that panel.
  2. Is Creative Director his global role at Obsidian or is it the same role that Georges Ziets had on DS3? I'm confusing the two.
  3. Anjali's naked back on the cover . If someone is selling it to you at a higher price because it is the Limited Edition, it's a scam. Also, why would you buy DS3 used? It's a SteamWorks game!
  4. The game is fairly short, but I think the answer would still be 'no'. However, if it takes only ten minutes for you to know if a game of this kind will bore you to tears, you might as well try the demo?
  5. Well, good bye and good luck, good sir! Your continued presence on the boards during Dungeon Siege 3's development was always appreciated.
  6. This quote : "Parker has always preferred RPGs that feature silent, customizable protagonists." I think this points to a system like RPGs of 'old', not a system taken from a different genre, like FPSs or adventure games. Also, I can't imagine how a 'mute' protagonist could work in an RPG, especially one where you can apparently build up a reputation with different factions and make choices that could alter the storyline. The kind of mute protagonist you're describing implies a completely railroaded plot, one where the player has no choice in what his character is saying. I don't think this is what they're going for.
  7. I think you misunderstood the 'mute' thing. It isn't like Gordon Freeman, it's more like every RPG before voice-acting became so common in the last few years. We will be able to choose what our character says, it just won't be dubbed.
  8. Isn't GDC the wrong event to expect news from? It is developer-centered and is more about the 'meta' aspect of game development than the announcement of new products and news about known ones. Unless I'm confusing GDC with something else. GDC is the Game Developers Conference, right?
  9. Is it me or is there something missing in that part :
  10. The PC Demo is available on Origin, under the 'Free Games' tab.
  11. It's been present in Dragon Age 2 too, and I'm sure there are other western RPGs with that kind of equipment (the axes and hammers in Planescape : Torment were huge, and they were animated as one-handed). Personally, I'm not bothered as much by the size of the two-handed swords than by the size of the supposed 'daggers'. Also the fanciness of most of the designs. At least Guts' blade is just a big chunk of metal without any decorations, and attached to a grip, and became used as a sort of accident.
  12. "Oh, it's back!" "Yes, just like you said it would." "Mom! What the f*** is he still doing here?" Any episode where Cartman gets some come-uppance is special in my book, A.W.E.S.O.M.-O. being at the top of that list. Starvation, probable dehydration, enslavement, all that money that he gained and 'lost', all because he was too attached to his reputation and his bullying of Butters.
  13. I want to be able to get minus infinity reputation with Cartman.
  14. No, they all end up the same way as the player, rebuilding the Legion, and the game is rather sketchy about what happens after that, so there is no special fate for them.
  15. I think it went something like "Even if you weren't of the Legion, you're still family". Rather sweet indeed, and a far cry from the scene you get when you meet Katarina with Lucas as your companion, which is actually rather funny Particularly Lucas' "You really think so?" when Katarina tells him he has prettier hair than her . Just finished Treasures of the Sun, it was weird having the "end-slide" BEFORE making the choice leading to it, but it actually resolves one of my problems with Obsidian's choices and consequences in that game (basically some of the benefits granted from the choices are not clearly explained beforehand, I'm notably thinking of the cyclops' situation in Stonebridge). Story was nice, expansion on the lore was good (strangely good to know where the Vyodano
  16. It's been a long-time since we had a nice RPG in that settings, it seems to me . First CRPGs I ever played were D&D, so I will always have a soft spot for the settings and rules. Plus the current D&D comics by John Rogers is very nice, keeps my interest up .
  17. The projectiles can be efficiently blocked by Lucas, if my memory is right. The columns of fire are a real pain however, and indeed they must be dodged at all costs. Other than that, no other advice. Katarina and Anjali are indeed at an advantage in that fight, with some powerful long-range powers that enables them to hit Anjali's damage threshold for changing her position, before she had even use one ability.
  18. That game sounds like the hardest they've done so far, and the most 'unique' too. Also, long time no see, Mr Parker.
  19. I want to be sure I understood it well : is the ability to be more and more powerful the lower in health you are an ability specific to Kyle or is it something any Jew can do? Also, conversations about the class system could get awkward .
  20. Avatar in conversations here refer probably to Avatar: The Last Airbender, the Nickelodeon cartoon, which probably would have a bigger appeal than South Park : fantasy setting heavily inspired by Asian mythology and legends, with a touch of steampunk, cool-looking abilities and powers, a broader audience (as the chant says, from 7 to 77), a huge success, etc. Although I wonder how they would have made the choice of gender or 'bending' work if we played as the Avatar, seeing that if we stayed with the show's 'canon', there would be at least one generation between each choice.
  21. Why wait for January? If I understood the initial announcement, the issue is out next week.
  22. I was late at the questions, I think I caught up at the point where he asked who was Chris' favorite voice actor for one of his games. I suppose his question about Sheena Easton shows how much of an 'old' fan he is . What were the other questions before that?
  23. And the Obsidian Box went out for a thousand bucks. That's good. Wonder what's the rarest in that box : the Planescape : Torment big box, or a working version of KOTOR 2 ?
