It's is such a computer classic, I would love to see an updated version of it in PE. -
Bows: Limited ammo?
Skie Nightfall replied to Infinitron's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Limitation brings forth the option of magical bows with unlimited ammo like in BG2. Also, with limitation, it would nice to have the option to recover some of your arrows. Especially magical ones that shouldn't break as easy as normal ones. -
If you wanted another class...

I'd go with shaman. I consider a druid a shapeshifter. -

Pretty cool. Would still like another playable race or two, and to know if the hard copy will have drm or not.

Drugs
Skie Nightfall replied to Jojobobo's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
They can sure add flavor to the game-world and lore if appropriate. Fit nicely to Fallout. Even soft drinks and alcohol can be addictive -
I find it more realistic if the NPC auto level himself. However, in most games auto-leveled NPCs aren't really smart. A nice alternative to complete control would be just having an influence on the direction the NPC should go to, so you can fit him to different kind of parties in different play-throughs.

Is it just a little little bit too early to be talking about expansions? o.O

Well the spell system sure sounds like something new, so that works for me. Overall good combat update.

That's the nice thing about the memorization system. A mage, like a warrior, preparing himself for a specific scenario. Doesn't work much in computer games that you have no way to get info on your next location. To make it work in computer games, some adjustments are needed.

Eeew crafting. I hope it at least going to be skill related, rather than have everyone in the world a chemist all of a sudden.

I like the Vancian system but it needs a lot of lore around it to fit a setting (e.g. I liked how it was explained in the DragonLance novels). Regardless of how much I like it, it fails in computer games, because there's no place for most spells at all. Even a lot of spells that did make it to BG2 are useless (BG1 was small scale anyway). Most use was combat oriented spells. This brings me to another point, no matter what magic system they end up using, I hope they but general and toolkit spells in and have a use to them! Really, I think the Quest for Glory series had the best variety of useful magic. A Mana system could work, in my opinion, if it doesn't regenerates. Combine it with the elements from Vancian, that you'd have to rest to recover your "mana". It also doesn't have to recover fully! It should be like health, making you think carefully about how you use it, without having to memorize specific spells. A systems like ad&d sorcerer could also work. Having a certain amount of spells you can cast from each "power level".

It kinda sounds the exact opposite of RP, so the topic is wrong. A warrior shouldn't care how is armor looks but how good it is in keeping us alive. That's roleplaying a warrior. "Roleplaying" your ugly armor is beautiful doesn't sound so valid to me. (Indifferent toward the idea itself, but at least make your point valid)
