  1. My cipher user the hunting bow Persistence, which quickly proved much better than most firearms (at least until near end game). High and fast damage gave me much more focus than a big firearm hit. You could still start with a firearm and then switch. This confused me as to way so many prefer firearms on Cipher Regarding Hiravias, I'd say it's weird for me to give a druid a firearm
  2. As some mentioned, I really like how this system makes more attributes relevant for more classes. It's been a while since I played something like that.
  3. Didn't like Aloth so stopped playing with him midgame, and suddenly I discovered he takes control of the leaden key o.o I should just kill him next time. There's a nice pit near Dyrford
  4. Although it's good that a player doesn't have to chase all the quests and ways to get experience to reach max level, I do agree that even before the expansion some stuff gave too much experience.
  5. Middle of act 3, I have to say, them bounty quests give way too much experience. So does a few of other kill-a-boss quest. Also, Mind Plague is crazy
  6. Seems like an eternal topic and debate that keeps popping up all over the internet I'm with GOG. Never liked using the steam client when I needed to. GOG is very clean. Steam is faster with releases if waiting a day or two is a problem.
  7. Wow. First time I see a post of someone who understands BG combat wasn't perfect, and that the engagement idea is there for a reason. Finally. The things I suffered in the beta forums I'm guessing some more balancing is needed. Obviously the fighter can't have high deflection + high accuracy + extra engagements + high damage. So saying it's the op's problem if his/her fighter doesn't punish disengagement is kinda silly. Actually both him and you don't have a clue what you are talking about. In Bg games it was super easy to tank. You kited a bit with ranged and sent your tank after the chasing enemy and the enemy went back to attacking the tank. Also the squishy classes had good cc spells that would take out of the battle those that came to hit them. This change to PoE is awesome for people that use IE mod and turn off disengagement attacks, we can now play it almost like BG since enemies will disengage more often (with no penalty with IE mod) and you will need to kite and not just tank&spank like in vanilla PoE So kiting is your perfect combat mechanism instead of engagement? wtf? Seriously tired from all the people who want an IE clone. Just go fund a game that use the real IE. People have overhauled BG2 into a completely new game before.
  8. I think so. It's more content in the main game you can go to during the main plot after you get the stronghold (more or less). It's not a continuation past main game plot.

  10. This is weird. Went to get the expansion key and noticed I got both the royal edition (which I already redeemed of course) and for some reason the lower tier hero edition available to redeem o.O
  11. I really really really want a high res version of the picture from the kickstarter update: Is it out somewhere? or do I have to beg Obsidian? :3
  12. I started playing two weeks ago as I finally got the time (had the game since day one obviously ), totally worth it. Game's worth more than one play through anyway, and I think it's nice to see it all before the expansion as well. Of course, it's only 2 days so... You could consider the fact 2.0 will need a few patches after it's out.
  13. Dual classing? o.O Now I'm just scared they're going to start hurting the game's core. Edit: oh it's just talent borrowing At least they're raising the level cap, so that's another reason for more exploring during the main plot line. Do I do wonder if the last encounters are going to scale for the new level cap.
  14. Unless they're going to update the original game's dialogue trees and lore... I rather they only add subraces rather than a whole races.
  15. Is partly bugged. The 5% endurance bonus disappears at some point (if it arrived at all in the first place, sometimes it doesn't). You still get the +1 might though.
  16. Still mid game here, but I can't see a game without Hiravias, Sagani & Eder for me. Listed in order Aloth is boring, Kana really didn't fit my main character. I don't like Durance much, but am curious to see the rest of his quest line. I'm a cipher, so probably benching GM. Going to give Pallegina a chance now instead of Aloth (probably) after seeing some good reviews here.
  17. There's more than enough xp to be gained in this game, so no reason not to play with a full party other than style preference.
  18. Haven't gotten to Pallegina or Grieving Mother yet, and so far Kana is my least favorite and Sagani and Hiravias are my favorite <3
  19. I'd be content with just bug fixes and the prestige/security making a bit more sense to start with. I see people mentioning da:i... too bad the game itself is rather mediocre.
  20. Oh man, I love this game so much! Definitely filled my expectations. So far it's the best RPG I've played in the last 7 years or so, and we'll see how that goes once I finish it. There are still some bugs sure, but there are still more patches to come it seems, which is great. I think some stronghold handling should probably be improved. I really like the system, from stats to how weapons and combat is handled. I think Obsidian did a very good job with the game. I find the graphics amazing and immersive. I never thought you could do that in isometric view. I hope for a bright future with more games like this. I don't mind all the backer NPCs, but there are really really way too many godlike races there. That's it, very short, just had to throw how much I like the game out there. I'm somewhere at half point. Finally getting to play it for the first time since beta, a while after it got released
