But they aren't the guys at troika. Plus is hard to work when you aren't allowed in the premises and is actually ACT responsibility to fix them. Am I reading this right... Person makes messed up product for distributor, Messed up product is released to public, Person whistles while the money pours in while the distributor has to take a massive financial hit for the garbage product? I mean, come ON. If Toyota assembles a car that kills somebody, it's not the Daves dealership that gets sued, it's friggin Toyota! If distributor forced them to release the product sooner than it is market ready, it's fault of the greedy distributor... In no other business you can force your workers to put unfinnished product into the market and get away with it... only in software business... something should be done about it, but no one cares and looks like customers have lot of lube ready and realy love to bend over...

Because current Rapelay is not cartoonish nor silly, the game should be pointed out as the most amoral thing ever created by mankind in the known history... yeah OK...

There is still the chance that it could indeed hurt another human being. In most games violence and sex are complementary to the objective; which despite the aforementioned, may not be violent. But in RapeLay the main objective is to rape and turn two women into sex slaves, so sex is the main objective. There is still a chance that another human being could be hurt by hot soup... LET'S BAN ALL FORMS OF SOUPS!!! Because someone's main objective might be cooking soups and spilling it on others, during his walk around the friendly neighbourhood!!!

Heh, i stopped to judge anything from trailers, after i've seen few movies, which had put all the worthy scenes into 60 seconds trailers and everything else was yawnworthy

I stopped to buy and read any reviews, when there started to be common practice, that the text of the review was completely out of touch with final score... When you read review, which is stating in every paragraph that game is mediocre, and you get at the end score of 9/10, you know there is something fishy in the air... nowadays, i just browse for some forums with mature gamers, like this one, where you don't see many diehard fanboys, and i get always the information what i need. I am yet to be burned with the purchase recommened this way...

If the society is judged how deeply it have sunked by the games it produces, than with the games like GTA or Carmageddon we are deeper in **** than Japanese ever was...

Exactly. I think, keeping things really simple, the Japanese reputation as the nation of perverts amongst internet users & gamers is a bit unfair. re. MamW: virtual killing is much easier to stomach cause we kill other things all the time, just not humans. But we never really go out and rape. In that, you are completely right... I'm pretty sure they wouldn't cos games and manga like this have been made for at least two decades. To be offended now would mean that they lived under a rock and had no idea of the huge sex industry their country has. How many games are there really out there, where you are a heroic mass murderer, killing because you like to inflict suffering (the "Postal" games are the only ones I know from top of my head). Most other seems to offer some justification, a 'cause' if you want, that to some degree rationalises your violence. I.e. fight this or fight that, liberate something or somebody. "Murder" games, "Rape" games, whatever plays on different emotions and less easy to accept motivations. Edit: I do not count Carmageddon among them, because I enjoy running over pedestrians If I wanted to be very extreme, I would compare some of the justifications of the murdering in somewestern games as appealing as justifications of Soviet soldiers invading at the end of WW2 into Germany and raping their womans... Both has revenge as justification...

It still amazes me, how many people have problems with a rapist as a hero of the game, but mass murderer is ok... both are illegal activities, but one is frowned upon and other is praised by the western media... hypocrisy at it's finest... disclaimer: this does not mean in any way that i condone raping, nor murdering...

I do think that every MATURE person has enough intelligence to judge, if this sort of entertainment is suited for him or not, and does not need any government oversight over his enterntainment decisions. And I do think that every MATURE person has enough intelligence to keep his own children away from such sort of entertainment, and does not need any government oversight over his parental decisions.

when we use some statistical guessing MW sold 5M+ copies (but every single copy has to be connected to Steam to play) 53,238 96,304 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Multiplayer 548 864 Assassin's Creed II 538 898 The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom that could theoretically mean that both game sold about 45000 copies on Steam... But not every game has to be connected to Steam... so my non-educated-out-of-ass-pulled guess might be 150K-200K games sold in total for each title... if that is enough sales to justify the cost of maintenance and customer support for the DRM servers i have no clue...
