  1. That's a horrible analogy. Van Gogh is widely known and discussed everywhere where art is discussed. PST is something that very few people even know exists. Also, whoever brought up PST being on the GOG wishlist, just because ~6500 people want it released isn't the same as them talking about it. There would only be money in a PST sequel when done on an extreme budget, but with similar quality. No it's not... PST is widely known and discussed everywhere where CRPGs are discussed... See what i did there?
  2. But only if it would use the 2D engine like infinity... If anybody would try to make such a story into current gen Graphics, Audio, Voiceovers.. etc, then i think we would see a game which could put the name Duke Nukem Forever into shame in the term of lenghty development or Windows Vista in the term of costly development But yes i would not hesitate to pay bonus price for such a game (of course only if it would come DRM-free or with disk-check only )
  3. I was completely unfamiliar with ADnD (and any other PnP RPG games) at the time i played Torment... I fell in love with the story on first play
  4. That's pretty rich considering that Van Gogh (among others) was horribly underappreciated during his lifetime. I guess his contemporaries believed themselves to be every bit as enlightened as you believe yourself to be. "Art" is make-believe. Planescape Torment was released a decade ago, which is a practically a century in the video game world and we're still talking about it. That's more than 90% of games can claim. To be fair, we are talking about it because this is the ex-BIS and generally wRPG-oriented forum. Pretty much no one else is talking about it. this can be written as: To be fair, we are talking about Van Gogh because we are all graduates of Classic Art Universities. Pretty much no one else is talking about it. Does that mean Van Gogh is all of a sudden not art?
  5. This... You can't compare Picasso with Van Gogh, can you?
  6. you missed this line... Torment, unlike the games you mentioned has the other half of the argument aswell
  7. thanks for sharing I still have the first 4 CD release of PS:T in my collection
  8. Kinda hope for this aswell.... it's the 1st Bioware game i did not purchased with preorder
  9. That has nothing to do with ME. Then tell me how do you gonna activate your ME when there is no authentification server?
  10. Check this out... http://games.ea.com/information.jsp What do you think you will be doing with your game when it gets on this list?
  11. Indeed this is old news for many of us, but still it is one of the best gaming news i came upon this year
  12. That is correct, but you have to install the file before you launch ME for the 1st time. But beware as Kaftan Barlast already said, if you are citizen of USA, just using a crack is against your DMCA law (it counts as circumventing DRM)...
  13. Ooookay.. Does your windows or HD go fubar often? Do you constantly upgrade your PC? Do you find the idea of sending email to EA support unbearable if the worst happens? If i want to play the game now, i do not want to wait week or two, while some outsourced indian customer support employee decides to answer my mail, and hope, he do understand basic english... I do reinstall windows 1-3 / year and i upgrade pretty much often... last time i upgraded my GPU, i had to reactivate pretty much all bussiness software i do use on my PC, dont want to experience that **** with games aswell...
  14. What? Why you want to use a crack? Like I said, the game doesn't need the DVD to play. If you are one of those guys who do anything to keep DRM's from their PC, I can't help you. Edit: Mamoulian War, were you joking or what? No

  16. 15 EUR is still to much to pay for game you can install only 5 times and must pray to be able to revoke your installation when your Harddrive or Windows gets corrupted... Or god forbid you upgrade your PC!!!
  17. btw i am pretty amazed that no one mentioned yet cursing in The Secret of the Monkey Island :D
  18. The best swear words (or more like sentences) i ever heard were hungarian one
  19. Oh yeah... it was long time ago, but we spent like 2000+ hours playing it in our local internet-caffe few years ago!!!
  20. the best multiplayer experience i ever had in Co-Op mode in Doom 2 on Nightmare difficulty... unfortunately i was able to play that kind of game only 3-5 times/year because not many friends around owned PCs at the time... 2nd best is Ikaruga And based on how long i played the games... 1st Counter-Strike Classic (not source... it's rubbish compared to original CS) 2nd WoW 3rd Diablo II 4th Warcraft III with Frozen Throne installed 5th Worms: Armaggedon
  21. Now this reminds me of you saying in other thread, about Boo frowning upon people who like console FPS games, because he thinks they are rubish, and now you frown upon someone who likes a game who you think is rubbish... Hypocrisy much?
  22. The case is, if at least 1 person besides you thinks that your idea is brilliant, there is big chance that the idea is realy brilliant
  23. Not this again. We had a thread about it. It wasn't even an example of a classic game. Diablo II is as much classic as Final Fantasy VII, it does not matter that you do not like them, for many people they are prime examples of classics... Just different cup of tea than you like... If you think it's ****, it's your oppinion and no one is taking it away from you, so is the opinion of other people who like theses games and point them as best of the best games, which are in their own personal top 5 of all time...
  24. I disagree with that one. Any game designed from the get-go as a compromising "crowd pleaser" is usually mediocre [like FO3] or occasionally utter crap. If a game design is brilliant, but the current crop of consumers cannot appreciate it, that does not reflect bad on the game IMO, and is no different than kids preferring to eat paste over p
  25. It's same like saying Van Gogh's paintings or Mozart Tunes are failure, because they died as a poor men...
