  1. It's same like saying Van Gogh's paintings or Mozart Tunes are failure, because they died as a poor men...
  2. The instalment base is just number thrown to us by MS, because no one knows how many people who voided their warranty by modding Xbox 360 or by trying to make it cooler by themselves jsut to not get the goddamn RRoD had to repurchase another console after it failed to work
  3. I'm going to call this bull unless you have some links to back it up. Read the edited post... the Obsidian guy said it in Alien RPG forums, which does not exist anymore... unfortunately i dont remember his name... as a few links which backs it up... http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=27404 http://www.psu.com/Midway-to-make-PS3-lead...a0001726-p0.php http://www.n4g.com/News-114628.aspx (not saying it directly, but they would not do the move if they would not think it is true...) And this one i liked most it says that PS3 is the easiest console to program for :D http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/news/kil...iz=1&page=1 hope it is enough for you

  5. I will be buying new console aswell (either on Xmas or somewhere around Eastern) and my choice is definately PS3... And my reasons are same as Hurlshot's... And some of my oppinions here aswell If you want big family fun and your son is around 10 years or younger, buy Wii... I have one, i play like once a year on it alone, but all my friends who never played games before love the Wii, my girlfriend loves Wii aswell, the only game she ever played on PS2 (which i have aswell) is Gran Turismo 4, because Wii was at my sisters house at that time But because you do not live in USA, many of the Xbox360 advantages does not apply to you... I do not believe Netflix or similar service is available outside USA... And I would say PS3 is the better selling system in EU, so there is bigger chance your sons friends have more likely PS3 than Xbox 360... And many of the gaming studios are starting to make games for PS3 first and then port it to other systems, because many programmers (and at least one from Obsidian unfortunately it was in Aliens RPG forums, so i can't link it to you anymore ) mentioned it is much easier to port from PS3 to Xbox360 than vice versa... And if you love exclusive titles... Much better list is for PS3, because as many people here said, PS3 exclusives stay exclusives, Xbox 360 exclusives get ported to PC in few months... And one more very very big advice... never ever ever listen to the guys who call themselves hardcore that Wii sucks, it's complete bull****... Wii was never meant to be made for them in the first place... And most of them have hardocore gamer friends aswell, so they do not have absolutely clue how Wii can be awesome machine (I know that, because I used to be hardcore gamer, before i met my current girlfriend)... It was made for people with max 1 hour a day free time for gaming or for people with many non-gamers friends or family where you are the only gamer... As I said before I play on the Wii alone once in a year, but the fun I have with it when my friends are around is worth it... If you are gaming a lot now, and ever end up with buying Wii you will see the same, you will almost never play on it alone, but you will spend much of the time on it with your family...
  6. You know... there are few games i played online for more than 1 year aswell, but would not count them as a classic... I played Counter-Strike online for 6 years... that is sign of classic and i am CRPG maniac here, i do not play FPS at all nowadays, but still i would mark some of the FPS amongst gaming classics... Quantity in many cases does not mark quality, I know that, because i am one of the millions of owners of Oblivion, and to this day i did not played it more than 10 minutes... But my sister loves it, but i dont think she would mark it as noteworthy few years in future... But I know she would mark GTA IV as a classic
  7. The only way how Halo 3 is memorable is that it sucks ass compared to original Halo
  8. I'm sorry, I thought this was about video games. Also, it's just correlation. Someone suggested Prey, why? It's pretty much the definition of a mediocre derivative shooter. It's the same... If crap music/book/movie can sell millions, crap game which no one will remember in 5 years can sell millions aswell...
  9. WoW will be for sure... I played it for 4 years and now i think about it as boring quest hub, but the impact on MMO gaming and playerbase, will be remembered for very very long time... God of War i bet Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 will be written with golden letters into classic aswell... Witcher was an awesome game, but it will be classic only amongst CRPG fans, people outside of this niche, will more likely go with Mass Effect, which i think is CRPG abomination... But classic does not have to be classic for mainstream audience... What do you think how many people outside CRPG community thinks that BG is a classic ) Final Fantasy X is the most talked about FF game after FFVII, so this might become classic aswell (but i think it's out of 5 year bounds) i think i can aggree with Beyond Good and Evil with you... althought i never played it got few friends who were in love with this game and praised it a lot... And to Purkake: Selling millions of copies does not mean that the game will become a classic... If that would be true, that it would mean that New Kids on the Block are prime example of classic music which shall be remembered for eternity... And anyone who thinks that should be burned alive and buried under the sea surface...
  10. Seriously 300 EUR is expensive? compared to 250 EUR Wii?
  11. yeah unfortunately for some brands we still do have come through all that **** in here... like amazon not willing to sell some goods to Slovakia but selling them to Austria without problems... And we are both European Union, and Vienna is 60 km away from Bratislava...
  12. If your 360 gets a red ring of death, which is the most common failure, Microsoft sends you a fed-ex box. You pack it up, put it in the mail (free of charge) and they send you a refurbished one in a couple weeks. It's pretty painless, unless you are a crazy person who can't handle being without a console for a few weeks (which seem to be all over the MS forums.) Surprise surprise, Xbox (not only xbox but all electronics) customer support in whole ex-eastern europe (he is from serbia i am from slovakia we know what are we talking about) sucks walrus balls... Solving most of the RMAs is as painful as hitting your balls with hammer... Because afaik xbox is not handled by MS directly here, but by some 3rd party business... EDIT: You are realy lucky that you have that kind of support, but in here, it would be miracle if i got the unit sooner than in 30 days... and 30 days without thingie which i paid 300+ EUR for, is not very good deal imo...
  13. Uncharted 2 is closing in to its release. Here is the interview with Naghty Dog's co-president, speaking about how the game uses PS3 techology. http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009/08...ppen-on-360.ars Never played the 1st game because unfortunately i do not own PS3 yet, but planning to buy one with the release of Final Fantasy XIII. Has anyone here played it, and why do you liked/not liked it... Trying to make a list of must have games when i buy the console, and Uncharted 1/2 is very close to landing on the list, but need some recommendations and warnings
  14. hmm i do not know where do you bought your PCs, but my PCs, which first i bought in 1996, died exactly 4 times on me (in 13 years that i am PC gamer)... 1st time: Motherboard 2nd and 3rd time: Harddrive 4th time: Incompatible Motherboard with Win XP SP3... (which was actualy more issue of bad BIOS than hardware issue)
  15. lol then it is 5 bucks to much for that kind of mod...
  16. LOL what i have found... i think he could use some "Revival" http://www.dailytech.com/One+Gamers+Story+...article7809.htm
  17. That's a very smart move by him
  18. Again with removing variety. Way to go Blizzard. Dio 2 had that too. No it certainly didn't, except for rare niche weapons introduced by the xpack (orbs, claws, amazon javs and bows). It was an annoying shift, but largely immaterial since all the main weapons were freely usable by any class. But, for example, it's patently stupid not to allow Wizards to use certain weapons (such as axes) when we know for a fact that the battlemage is one of the 3 skill trees for the wizard! You know there might be a skill in Battlemage tree like "Wield Battlepichfork" You never know And yes I am one of the old farts who thinks that Mage who spent 30 years studying scrolls should not be able to wield heavy weapons
  19. hahaha this made me laugh http://www.dailytech.com/Survey+Xbox+360+h...rticle16038.htm
  20. Import from UK? That's what I will be doing, if i find that true in Slovakia aswell http://www.game.co.uk/PS3/Hardware/?sort=p...&hideflag=1 almost all SKUs priced at
  21. Old news, but still... who is planning to get new slim or old cheap model?
  22. Or you could put the cow in your Barn, before tornado hits your field, and hope the tornado would not be strong enough to blow the barn away... in this scenario it was not your fault, bacause you put all possible effort to try to help the cow to stay alive in hostile environment... If you just run off and let the cow out in the field, it's your fault for not caring about her life...
