  1. Yes it is, and it just proves, that in the time of warfare, the industry in connection with the warfare prospers
  2. Actualy i was saying, that because, i am the only black sheep of my family, which does not work in Health Care industry, because i chosen IT career, that i am pretty much happy, that i can pay VAT so i can get free medical healthcare, because it's at the end cheaper, at least for the members of population which earn less than 1 million EUR per year Believe me, i do know very very good how much health care costs and how much is the industry profitable
  3. that would be my guess aswell
  4. It doesn't make sense because there is no 'military', there are individual militaries from various different countries. Afghanistan isn't America's war - it's a NATO/UN war, and it even includes countries like Australia. There's no secret conspiracy in NATO to prolong the war for the benefit of a few arms companies. And how many weapon manufacturing companies are in the world, which supply western world armies? Not many... Russia's and China's manufacturers makes ****load of money from Asian and African and Latin American countries, EU and US manufacturers get ****loads of money from European, North American countries and ofc, Japan, South Korea and Australia... No conflict = less money spent by governtment on self defense... you can say whatever you want, the best thing what could have ever happened to weapon industry is war against terrorism... the war which can never be won so you have to supply your "products" until the end of time... This war already made few people stinky rich... And it will make few more War is the best bussiness in the world... Just get a contract with some government and enjoy constant flow of billions of taxpayers dollars/euros/rupiahs/whatever directly into your pocket... I wish i was shareholder of US weapon industry, i would never had to work...
  5. IMO 1) is the reality for many if not all businessess in countries with cheap labour... not only in China... Any bussiness will do anything to maximize the profit if it is not against the law/tradition/ethics in the country where it operates... EDIT: lol 15-years old are not children... they are teenagers... they are legaly allowed to work in almost every "civilised" country... OFC not fulltime-jobs, but they are allowed... I got my first part-time job when i was 15 aswell...
  6. Not as far as i know... It may be only a symptom of a PS3 bug which occured today... If you look in this thread, you'll see how to possibly avoid the bug... And if you check the kotaku link, there are few other ways how to possibly solve the problem...
  7. a solution already in comments... i rather post it if it get lost...
  8. No ****, Sherlock. Obviously, after years of paying insane taxes, you are left without the resources to face such an eventuality. You expect the state to cover your butt - which unsurprisingly, it can't do in your example. It did... And i have accumulated enough resources to have own big flat, own car, and i have no mortgage (or how it is called) and not a single EUR of debt Can you say that of yourself Mr.NoWelfareHealthcare And it still make me happy that when **** hits the fan, all the money i payed to our welfare medical care can save my ass in a hospital when i get an heart attack and the i get heart surgery worth of 100.000+ EUR and i do not pay a single dime...
  9. Jesus Christ. Tell me about it.. I seriously cannot imagine the amount of money our government rakes in with 25% added to every single purchase.. it scares me at times. You know, lot of benefits European countries have compared to other countries, have very high cost, and they had to be paid somehow, i do not like the high VAT neither, but last time i had car accident and spent 42 days in hospital, i think it cost our government more than i had ever paid with all the VAT purchases i had... if i ended in hospital in an unnamed non-EU country... i would surely end up bankrupt, and could just shot myself in the head right after leaving the hospital...
  10. To fuel the war even more... endless conflict = endless flow of money into the pockets of weapon industry
  11. read http://arstechnica.com/open-source/news/20...ndorse-foss.ars and puke...
  12. what game is this???
  13. Just started to play 1st Drakensang game, it's pretty nice game, just my PC is to old
  14. of course they do... as much as selling used cars increase the sales of new cars... Rich people buy new stuff, less fortunate sell old stuff to buy new stuff, the unfortunate buy only used old stuff... less possibilities to sell old stuff = less money for spending in the hands of less fortunate = less new stuff sales... CEOs often forget that common people can't conjure money out of nothing like FED...
  15. No idea, but I wouldn't count on it to be internationally released in the coming 6 months. 'Twas the same story with Divinity 2, Venetica & the first Drakensang. That's why I always purchase the German version first anyway. According to Wikipedia, the int version was out February 24, 2009... but take it with a grain of salt... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drakensang EDIT: unless i am totaly out of touch with the PC gaming nowadays and there is already 2nd Drakensang game released in german speaking teritories...
  16. Really? No game retailers here take PC games as trade-in. I would also say that the 2nd hand market is more a console problem. They do not want that you sell their 4 hour long game to your friend for 20 bucks, they want your friend to buy that game new for 50 bucks... 2nd hand market does not need to have a middle man...
  17. way to go... who wants to guess what reason they will publish, when the game will not sell enough copies? I am betting fresh bottle of beer, that they will blame piracy... Oh and another bottle on used sales of Xbox and PS3 versions of the game...
  18. I playing it for the 2nd time after maybe 10 years??? So i almost forgot everything what happened, so i am playing it without any possible spoilers i'll check the link as soon as i kick Ultimecia's ass
  19. Just started God of War 2 few days ago, and still trying to finnish FFVIII, the monster leveling up is hillarious in the final dungeon when Squall is lvl 50 and the rest of the party is lvl 25
  20. And another thread where do i have to agree with purkake... something must be wrong with the universe :D People like Quantic Dream, have to get rewarded for trying to do stuff, like they are trying to do... Else we end up soon drowned in CoD:MW clones, and i rather have QTE every 15 seconds than to play mediocre overhyped shooters all the time... Heavy Rain might be 7-8 hours long for the 1st playthrough, but it's still double the length of CoD:MW2, and you can play it more than once with absolutely different character backgroud... It's realy different to play Heavy Rain as arrogant coldhearted bastard who cares only about himself, or as caring altruist who would rather sacrifice himself just to save another soul... And the consequences realy do matter... It feels like completely different game... I do not remember any other game with such a deep consequences mechanic that was released... ever... I do realy hope it will sell as much copies as possible...
  21. That's the reason why i am getting a copy... hopefuly we will see more games where consequence realy matter if this games sells a lot...
  22. It's just matter of taste... According to Famitsu, FFX is voted best game ever in Japan, followed by FFVII in 2nd place, FFIV on 6th, FFIII on 8th, FFV on 15th, FFVIII on 22nd, FFIX on 24th, FFVI on 25th, FFX-2 on 32nd, FFII on 60th, FFI on 63rd and FFXII out of top 100th... My favourite is FFX-2, followed right with FFIX and FFVII and the worst of the series is absolutely FFVIII :S And somehow, I realy do not know why, I enjoyed a lot FFXII on my 2nd playthrough... and I realy hated that game when I finnished it for the 1st time... If you do not like some games, that does not mean there is something wrong with the game, there might be something wrong with the player - i am not saying that's specifically your case though Althought that i think that FFVIII is rubish, i still enjoyed few playthroughs of this game much more than any other RPGs which were released after 2005, with the exception of NWN2... That goes into list of my most anticipated games... Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy versus XIII, Heavy Rain (it's still not out in EU), Gran Turismo 5, God of War III and Alpha Protocol (if it will not require Steam or some other restrictive DRM on the PC), and hopefuly Dissidia 2 is already in making PS: Oh and i totaly forgot Rage from id... and maybe Starcraft 2 if itwill not require me to be online all the time... I doubt i will ever play any SC2 multiplayer game... i am to old for all that micro **** already, and i do not enjoy when my ass gets kicked by 14years olds
  23. That would be Final Fantasy VI
  24. Hmm i liked it much much more than the 1st one
