  1. maybe i spent last few weeks in some information forsaken place, but can anyone tell me what is the AP PC DRM? I know it's Steam, but is there something more like limited activations or required inet connection? thanks
  2. To be honest I still haven't played Final Fantasy 7 (read a Let's Play some times ago, but that's not exactly 'playing' the game), so going with the whole 'Final Fantasy VII is the reason people think FFVIII sucked' is a bit unfair. Yeah, there's no doubt some people went into the new game with that kind of perception but a lot of people actually have legitimate issues with the game. i think i mentioned it was mine own oppinion now when i have replayed FFVIII after 8 years i played it right after VI and before VII and i pretty much appreciated it, i just still hate the Draw system my 1st playthrough i was very dissapointed now after 8 years i aprecciated it a lot more same happened to me with FFXII btw, 1st playthrough was boring, 2nd playthrough i liked the game... and i realy dunno why O.o
  3. my personal oppinion... from PS1 Final Fantasies VII is best VIII is worst... IX is in the middle From me the plot of FFVIII looked more linear than VII, but that's my subjective view on the matter... There is one more thing you have to take into the account, FFVII materia system is very different to the FFVIII draw system, and many people who play VII as a first game are dissapointed from VIII system, because imo materia system is superior, so if you are thinking about purchasing both games at some point (and imo, you should get them both ), i would recommend you to purchase FFVIII as a first game... You might get better into the Draw system that way ask more people about it before your final decission but keep in mind FFVII has most fanboys and haters from all the games ever created so judge their words carefuly
  4. on 22'' monitor it should be fine, but dont crucify me if you dont think it's ok... i even played FFVI on 42'' LCD TV and had no problem with graphics... different people different tastes...
  5. And another interesting read from a person in the gaming industry speaks his mind about the issue... http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2010/05...rt-business.ars
  6. You, Sir, are in this case very correct!
  7. If only there were some way to not spend money on a game without breaking the law... Mind you, that in some countries it is still legal to download anything for personal use only only sharing is prohibited...
  8. WoW... a whole 1 day of gameplay for 50 bucks...
  9. IIRC some games called Mad Dog Mc Cree with very questionable quality were set in the western setting
  10. That's the case for me aswell last few years It is sad, that I had the most fun last year playing 5-15 years old games i purchased second hand... with very few exceptions like NWN2 + expansions, Drakensang, FFXIII and Witcher...
  11. Ever thought that perhaps they do exactly know who they have to ask for their money? That's why they filled the 2nd lawsuit against ACTI
  12. That sounds like a reason to ignore the score, not to stop reading reviews. So long as the actual text is accurate, it can supply useful information. Yes, the ignoring of the scores was the first step, but at some point, even the text became less and less accurate about description of the games So the best way how to deal with buying games nowaday, is to wait few weeks after release, to get reviews from the fansites and forums, like this one... that way i'm yet to be dissapointed...
  13. They did, it sold millions of copies in a single day, the quality for many people can be questionable, but the fact that it sold so many copies in a single day, means that programmers and marketing team did their job properly, and both of them are entitled to their bonuses, and it is normal, that any person goes and search for another employer if they do think that their boss is not giving them the money they deserve it... I did it 3 times in last 5 years... whenever i programmed something which made my boss ****loads of profits, and he was not willing to give me payrise, i just simple quit and got a new job in few days... most of them lost more money while searching for new workforce with equal skills to mine, and they full deserved it... the IW guys, had the same right, to make this sort of decision, as i did...
  14. Seriously, how the hell can anybody, with a sane mind, claim, that these guys did not do their job properly, hell i wish i could **** up my job that way, that i make my employer millions of dollars in a single day!!! and can bet your ass, that i would demand my ****ing bonuses aswell!!!
  15. But if it takes that much time to crack all of those DRM, Ubisoft won't do anything. It lasted for one month, so it served its purpose and proved its efficiency. Unless all Ubisoft games are cracked one day from release from now on, they will do something. But right now, they don't have any reason to do it. It did not served it's purpose, it scared away more people willing to buy it, than lured pirates, who were unable to play it without "proper" crack...
  16. comparation between CECH 2000 and CECH 2100 PS3 SKUs... http://www.playstationuniversity.com/ps3s-...nsumption-3687/
  17. At least I remembered the name and company ... it was released pretty long time ago @mkreku: according to wikipedia, Crysis used voxels for the terrain aswell... so there you have your newer game with this technology
  18. Comanche 4 from Nova Logic iirc
  19. what what... 2 slovakian games in the list... turn based, and i do not know about them? WTF has happened to the world...
  20. lolz http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2010/04/20/neptune_preview/ i so hope, this will be released out of Japan, might be fun :D
  21. Hmm when i was buying expansions on release date, they did not give away free month... if they changed it i do not know... I've never bought an expansion that didn't give you a free month. I know Burning Crusade gave one. Here they say the same what i was saying, neither BC nor WotLK had no free month... http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qi...18170223AAajpCM http://world-of-warcraft.brighterplanet.or...th-a-free-month http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage....;topic=46712730 http://www.amazon.com/free-month-with-WoTL...asin=B000VJTJNE

  23. No thank you, MMO's really aren't my thing. You better watch out, soon your nice signature might change to a colorful banner that states that you are level 60 snotgoblin, the archbugger of Azeroth. Come ooooon, yeah they suck - but with a nice crowd (yeah, I count as a crowd) it can be a lot of fun. Plus, its cheap now - 15 euros for retail + a month of game time. If you want to be really cheap, like me, you should get a trial first and level the char to lvl 20, to save yourself paying time:lol: To be fair, that's the base game. Once you hit sixty you gotta buy Burning Crusade for another 15 to get to 70, then drop another amount for Wrath of the Lich King to get to 80 and access those zones. Heck it might even be worth starting with BC given the Dranei and Blood Elf starting zones are friggin awesome (and give really nice items when you reach the end of em). I consider BC acceptable since its effectively the cost of one months subscription, however I don't think I'll be buying Wrath at all unless it comes down to the same price. That way the whole package will be around 45 euros and 3 moths of gaming time which is way more time playing (and less money) then I spent on like the last 10 single player games put together. You dont get free month with buying expansions...
