  1. It will become a classic. An overlooked gem at release. Give it time. ("Unless it will be known as that pet chomper game that lets you torture innocent dogs")
  2. I can see his point perfectly well. The narrative is only new once, and since it contains no surprises, why repeat it? I'm usually in this boat, but I love the Deadfire setting and the game has a lot of reactivity regarding what companions and classes you fiddle with. So it might be worth replaying
  3. You might even want to add a Magran Challenge or two. I recommend Skaens and maybe Ondras.
  4. I'm trying to kill my restartitis, and have decided to try the first full run with Skaens and Ondra. Might even try Wødica. It seems fitting.
  5. (I'm adding my 25 cents about Forbidden Fist because it's not just the raw damage, but also duration). With a newly created single class monk Attributes: M12,C17,D17,P10,I10,R12 On first use in combat - POTD upscaled - "Forbidden Fist" adds the curse with a duration of 19.4 seconds. That has got to be a bug. It invalidates the whole class.
  6. The question is impossible to answer for two reasons. 1) Everybody have different playstyles. I tend to dislike ranged and will therefore say that melee class X is better than ranged class Y. Because! 2) Certain classes are severely bugged. For instance, Forbidden Fist is so bugged it's useless. So that class cannot be measured.
  7. I dont know if this is a new bug or old. But when you try to edit chant behaviour in the "automatic behaviour" editor, there are strings missing. This makes it a bit confusing.
  8. Hah, belower might be actually worthy of being considered now I have a predilection for chanters it seems. Testing!
  9. Yup, just tested with new char. Attributes: M12,C17,D17,P10,I10,R12 On first use in combat - POTD upscaled - "Forbidden Fist" adds the curse with a duration of 19.4 seconds. That's just weird.
  10. A Frankenslicer? That's just wrong on ever so many levels. I mean, Dragon Age is a great franchise and all, but the Harvester should never be replicated. I'd hate to witness a Harvester with floppy ****erspaniel ears. Someone, stop the devs!
  11. Doesn't matter. Anyone using an Archer-gif wins by default. Besides Boromir is dead, so that shows the viability of THAT gif.
  12. Aw, I wouldn't say you get a hint as to when to do the DLC without metagaming the quest journal. I haven't done Beast of Winter nor SSS, but BOW basically starts by getting a letter when leaving Port Maje. No "Come at 8 pm, wear a dinner jacket!", but more "I' like to see you at your discretion".
  13. Yay! Cats and avian godlikes go in the grinder! The video, using a dog, is clearly made by a deranged and demented dev. For shame!
  14. Oh yes. Forgot that. There are PC versions, and ... well ... wrong 'uns ;-)
  15. If it pleases the court, a defense for Benweths first encounter with the Defiant can be made. You see, Brutal Ben is a Deadfire pirate. And in the Deadfire the pirates are feared. They are no mere slavers, but masters of the sea. Neketaka needs the Valera to keep the pirates in check. It is no job for ordinary seamen. The Principi already have a rep. So Brutal Ben pretty much owns the sea with his brotherhood of pirates. And a single sloop, with no affiliation, should be easily dispatched. Why bother with sparing them when killing is funnier? In short, the only mistake Benweth makes is not knowing he is facing the Watcher of Caed Nua, Mr Sexypants, Loather of all things vailian, Superfan of shanties, Abolisher of the Adra Dragon, Bestiefriend of Berath et cetera.
  16. Addendum. You can add your own portrait in both POE1 and Deadfire. So if you have a favourite non-POE portrait you want to use, I'd recommend adding that. You might want to check out the portrait threads elsewhere on the forums.
  17. I've done it a few times because I somehow got the impression it was the powergaming way to go. Also, I tried to RP a haughty diplomatic kinda guy. Next time I'm gonna blow him up, so he can use a harp in hell.
  18. Godlike heads video: Minor Blights have blast radius but are not classified as wands, IIRC. Beside that Blast is a weapon proficiency (new mechanic) for rods, IIRC The playstyle for wizzards is pretty much the same. You can RP that your Deadfire watcher (technically the same as POE1) have alterede memory and appearance. Something traumatic happens in the beginning.
  19. This is mainly in preparation for when DLC drops. I have two questions for the betatesters 1) Is the current aggro range ("Pull EVERYTHING!) bug fixed? 2) Nalpazca monks and Arcane Damperner. Is the issue with no healing due to drug crash fixed?
  20. I found the error. ;-) Why would anyone want to use a subclass, designed for teamwork, solo? That's like eating living cheese by not grilling it. Mmmm, grilled cheese.
  21. Yep. The class text specifies it's a balancing act ;-) I'm going to test when DL drops (I don't do beta), so I can't really say if it "works".
  22. Primarily the curse from the forbidden fisting, I imagine. Stacking curses will likely add more wounds.
  23. Yes. He smitered them down with his wordnigmal logicity.
  24. I've heard conflicting opinions on this. Guess I'll have to do my own testing when DLC drops.
  25. It's totally ok. Somebody has to stand up for righteousness and the betterment of all.
