  1. Quick easy and dirty question. In ship combat, is there a difference in the outcome (loot?) whether you win a ship battle by boarding it or by sinking it?
  2. I vote Wild Orlan. I just don't see the godlikes as tricksters. Growing up as a rarity, they have most likely been more bullied and studied more than anything. Jaded, angry, disillusioned, maybe. I just don't get the trickster vibe. Unless it's a slightly sadistic trickster Orlan can, as he knows what he is. He knows his race and that there are others like him.
  3. At player level 8-10, the risen skeletons are 3+ (red skulls) levels above. The quest log shows it as fitting for that player level, yet it is not doable. The quest log for that quest needs a fix ;-)
  4. Traini area Skeletons. If you were a nice person, you might have Beraths Black Bell. That one, combined with a dose of Xotis Radiance burns the vessels to the ground fast.
  5. Weird question. In Port Maje you can buy a helmet "Death's Maw", that grants "Death Runes" in combat. These give you a 15% reduction in recieved damage when being near a dead enemy for 10 or 15 secs, IIRC But do they automatically refresh if you keep standing near a dead enemy through the whole fight?
  6. I forgot to comment on your party composition If your MC is a CC wizard I'd do something like this: 1-2 melee, tank and maybe off-tank. Edér "swollen and infected hand" swordboarder. Pallegina is likely good as an off-tank (any spec). Haven't run with her in Deadfire. Valians irk me. Xoti as heals and buffer is a solid choice. I'd bring Maia or Serafen. A stealther/mechanics is nice. Maia is consistent damage, Serafen is combat-versatile. I'd pick based on which personality I'd like better. And then I'd likely bring fishboy. Tekesomething. He is great for heals, CC and the fact his subclass attacks aren't friendly fire, is a great boon. That chillfog. On second thought. **** Pallegina. That bird can stuff it up her cloaca.
  7. Ah, I can explain that one. The pet can get so locked up in engagements it cannot escape and will be knocked out. But if the pet gets knocked out, the ranger gets "bonded grief" debuff. The "play dead" is basically an aggro dump with healing and a way for the pet to stay alive a bit longer.
  8. BTW, it must be possible to AI your comps not to kill enemies "near death", musn't it? So that they will stop the killing and leave you to do the finishing blow.
  9. Thsoe two fights (boars) and the drake/adds at the digsite are killers. Likewise Gorecci Street if you enter from the north. I know the best way is to hire mercs. I just don't want to. First fight with boars and wyrm, I pull-cheat on top of the stairs. For the drake/panthers fight I do something crazy. I get as many buffs as possible (poison, drugs, fire resist if possible, from Port Maje) Then I sneak to the southern part of the circular area. Near the tent. There is barrels with gunpowder. I position my comps as close to the wall as I can, as far away from the barrels, yet able to shoot them and have my back free. Then i trigger a fight by unstealthing one and firing one shot at the gunpowder barrel. It attracts drake, panthers, wyrms and sometimes the one boar. They will position themselves around the barrels. Then my other comps shoot at the barrel. *Boom* Sometimes you get lucky and the explosion crits a lot. But at the least it weakens the mob. I focus fire the drake (even have Xoti use the harvest spell) down. It's not a guarantee for making the fight, but it helps.
  10. It's a new bug. Its supposed to show you the time (did before). Temporary hack: Use the wait (under rest menu) function. It will show you current time plus the rest period. Subtract rest period and you have the time.
  11. Is this the only area in which noise comes into play? It seems strange how every Cipher spell has a noise value but it is made irrelevant by the fact that combat inevitably alerts all near by enemies to itself. I suppose if I was soloing and was trying to one hit enemies from stealth, the noise value would make sense. But that isn't exactly a common possibility in-game lol. Does anyone have an example of how it is relevant outside of traps? Maybe they will release a DLC that takes advantage of the feature Not sure. With the latest patch I get the impression aggro ranges from loud combat sounds (like chanter roars) is increased, but otherwise sound is most likely a stealth issue.
  12. I'm intrigued by them. I love the concept. Personally I'll likely try Abydons and Ryrmgands(sic?), maybe Skaens. I like the idea of not being able to hoard resources (food) and wear and tear of gear seems like a reasonable addition. Love having the possibility of Eothas', but on a first run I'd loathe to feel hurried and miss exploration. Hylea is not really my bag. The idea is fine, just not for me. Permadeath is scary. I'm avoiding Berath. As others I'd like some kind of barrier towards rest spam. I get that what's Eothas' is, but I'd want a different implementation. Maybe incremental cost for resting at inns that resets after a month (in-game) time. Combined with chance of interrupt by monsters when resting outside inns. - Other ideas: - Potion failure or weird result when ingesting potion. Same with scrolls. - Random moving enemies. On a second run you know where all the enemies are, so an element of having them move in a different pattern might help.
  13. I've just discovered the god challenges. I like the idea and I might want to try some of them. I'm also currently on my first playthrough. The question (also considering that not all god challenges are revealed yet) is therefore: Can I add one or several god challenges to my existing playthrough or am I forced to start a new game if I want to use them?
  14. Known bug, it's being addressed. As new player. Is there a temporary hack/way I can see current in-game time? (Besides saving the game and checking the date/ttime on the save.) clicking on the wait/rest button and seeing what time it is if you rest 1 hour and minus 1? Bingo. The "wait" command can tell me. Thanks for the tip.
  15. Ya, I finally noticed the mechanism how works. By the way, are the traps useful? It seems that only 1 trap can be set at the same time, and the damage looks like quite low. Well, I've only recently begun on POE2 after having completed POE1. But traps 1) gets stronger the further you get in the game. 2) Puts on lasting debuffs (weaken, sicken, blinded et cetera) that can help quite a lot for the time that they last. Blinded enemies miss a lot more and are flanked for example. 3) Each person (with mechanics?) can plant a trap. So you can theoretically plant 5 traps in advance.
  16. For me this is most obvious when planting traps. Planting a trap makes a slight noise. This noise will make enemies near it investigate and go near the trap. If you keep waiting by the trap (in stealth) they will most likely notice you. I guess it's the same with combat noise and pulling more enemies.
  17. "Defend self" only triggers once the person is attacked. I use is when I want my tank to block a doorway without moving, yet engaging enemies that attacks him in melee.
  18. Known bug, it's being addressed. As new player. Is there a temporary hack/way I can see current in-game time? (Besides saving the game and checking the date/ttime on the save.)
  19. Ok, after having done POE1 I'm starting on Deadfire. I have a few questions regarding mechanics. 1) I love the ability to do behavior rulesets, but I'm currently trying to figure out ranges. Example: I want Xoti to use "Blessed Harvest" (range 4 meters) on targets below 50% health, but I dont want her to move (maybe 1 or 2 meters max) too far from her current position. I can do an AND rule with "enemy below 50%" and "enemy in melee range" (2 meters?), but I wonder if there are other ways to do it. 2) Poisons. How should the "this effect clear on weapon switch for X seconds" be interpreted? Are poison coatings permanent on a weapon until that weapon are swtiched or what? Can someone explain to me what the sentence means? Preferably like i'm 5 years old. Thanks in advance.
