  1. Can't find your game, unless you are Snakehead
  2. At least Bethesda learned their lesson and didn't announce that next DLC will arrive in August.
  3. I seriously disliked the map design in Doom 1&2. I would only get lost at some point. Duke Nukem was 1st fps game that had good map design (imo). So no, don't really miss the -93 map design at all
  4. Metacritic sucks anyways. I don't think most of the european magazines even post their scores there. At least couldn't see any German or Finnish scores there for DS3.
  5. I wouldn't consider it a slap in the face. It's the first time their game even includes multiplayer option. But that said, I would personally prefer more SP content via DLC. But I hope Square-Enix let's them fine tune some of the elements (both sp&mp) in the game. Nor would I mind if they added an arena like feature like in Magicka to the game.
  6. I would imagine part of the tethering has to do with the netcode. They didn't really seem to have that many network programmers working on the game. I think it was just two guys working on that department. From story the pov tethering does make some sense though, it just shouldn't be very strict. But if there is some added mp content for the game I would like to see an arena like in Magicka. Where the waves of enemies just keep coming and coming each harder than the last one, until you beat it or you wipe. Push the camera back a bit so you can see most of the arena. For singleplayer: More different & good looking loot. New enemies More places to visit More boss fights since they were greatly done in the game.
  7. Care to elaborate? I was not aware cycling through the inventory changed your stance. In your inventory you see the weapons for both of your stances. Normally the higher ability dps weapon is on the first slot in the inventory and the last two slots are used for the not-so-high ability dps weapons (In Lucas case 1h sword + shield, for Kat shotgun+pistol). So when you scroll up there to check those slots it will you show you what your ability dps will be in that stance using those weapons.
  8. It's not a bug. It's your ability dps with your 2nd stance.
  9. Impossible, American reviews that didn't seem to dislike the game.
  10. I don't think Romero had any "street cred" left after the whole Daikatana fiasco. It was pretty obvious that talent behind Doom 1&2 was John Carmack etc. at ID. Hence it's pretty easy to tear him apart.
  11. I guess you are not a fan of flight simulators then
  12. Not really sure since I haven't tried out the mp yet. But all those mp games aren't being started by Square/Obsidian
  13. I want everything and I want it now.
  14. How are Daikatana and Doom 3 related? Other was published by Eidos and the other by Activision. Made by Ion Storm and by ID Software.
  15. I know you're not involved in that argument, but thanks . What argument?
  16. I have high hopes for Runic. I found Torchlight pretty damn boring after few hours. But then again normal h&s games aren't for me...
  17. Even some/most of the journalists are fanboys of something. Not saying this is the case with IGN/Gamespot reviews.
  18. I used warding (with dmg buffs) a lot. Kills pretty fast all the faster melee mobs, not that good against Cyclops & Azunite knights. Also that 1st tier skill with pistols was decent if you only had one bigger opponent left. Call of the hunt? 2nd tier defensive skill was pretty useful as well in boss fights. Didn't use much of heartseeker in the beginning but after mid game more and more. Critical hit with that and I could get two of down with one shot.
  19. Gameplay gets smoother/better after few levels when it doesn't take forever for your char to aim. Story picks up after Saudi-Arabia. Don't think there are that many bugs in the game though...
  20. If you want to refine your char from the start shouldn't you start the mp game yourself.
  21. I think most of the early review copies didn't have the online mp active. Then again even the couch co-op pretty much shows how the multiplayer works (with the exception of how camera will work with 3 or 4 players).
  22. Hard to compare the games since they all play out quite differently.
  23. It wasn't that good. Let's say some other company *cough* Obsidian* cough* recycled as much maps as BioWare did. I would imagine the blowback from media would be way way harsher than it was on BioWare. There would be endless whining how they they delivered an unfinished game. Now there's few odd remarks here and there about the situation, but the scores are still pretty high from some of the sites. (Not to mention all the other things that were bad with the game)
  24. I still can't belive Fallout 3 won awards for it's writing. Gaming companies have too much control over the media that's the biggest problem. Piss them off and you won't get exclusives, they won't send their review copies in time (or they might stop sending them completely), they might pull their ads from your site/magazine which are main source of funding for many. Because they can, there's so many other sites/magazines they can "sell" their exlusives to, have their ads on. Not to mention all the paid trips to different locations to preview/review the game. Is the effect huge? It wouldn't be if gamers/media wouldn't consider games that get less than a 8.5/9 as some sort of inferior product. Games that get scores starting with 7 are pretty much doomed (in sales) unless pre-orders were great.
