  1. Do it! I did, also got Torchlight. Damn you Steam! :D
  2. So far bought these: - The Witcher: Enhanced Edition - Dawn of War: Platinium Edition - Shadowgrounds - Shadowgrounds Survivor - Defence Grid: The Awakening Thinking about buying Gratuitous Space Battles and Sword of the Stars: Ultimate Collection
  3. Well Obsidian ain't owned by Atari like Black Isle was by Interplay, so there might be a chance they (Obs and Atari) could work out a deal with Hasbro & whoever gets the rights next. I'm not sure how it would go legally though if Atari would lose the license. It ain't Obsidian's fault Atari ****ed up, so shouldn't they come up with some solution that doesn't harm the 3rd parties?
  4. While you are at it Matthew... Any idea when we will hear about your other projects or is it up to Bethesda and whoever is the publisher for the unannounced project..
  5. Scam or no scam. All I have to do is look outside and see that's there's no snow. For 20 years there was always snow in these parts of Finland in early November. Now we get permanent snow cover just before or after Christmas. Whether it's global/local warming or sun acting up it's still cause for corcern.
  6. I love it how they just installed a president without actually asking the people who should be the president for the EU. Not that we Finns got to even vote about accepting the Lissabon treaty in the first place. It's good that the politicians know us normal people ain't to be trusted on such matters. Both the president and foreign minister look like they are Reptilians. Clearly V is a true story and now they've started their plan to kill us all! :D
  7. Would have preferred more lenght in the DLC. Though 5$ is pretty much nothing... Still one can only hope they will release either DLC that offers more playtime or a proper expansion pack at some point.
  8. I personally don't mind the DLC's as long as I know the content wasn't cut from the original just for the sake of making more money with it. No one forces me to pay for the DLCs, though I would prefer if the games didn't have an npc standing there telling me I could buy content. I would prefer if there was a sub-menu under the menu where you can preview the DLC content available. Short summary what's it's about, estimated time it takes to finish it etc.. That way it ain't thrown at your face everytime you play the game and it's not there breaking the so called immersion. As for the content I'm willing to pay for.. Well the content needs to have some sort of replayability and it needs to actually last longer than one or two hours. 5-10 hours worth of extra adventures for a crpg with the price of 10-20$ or euros is perfectly fine for me. Not sure if it's economically viable for the company though. I do value good old expansion packs ala Mask of the Betrayer (if you can even call it an expansion pack), IWD: Hearts of Winter or even Tales of the Sword Coast over DLC content. Why? Mostly because expansion packs usually are made with more care, there's more to play and they add way more than your regular DLC to the original game. Most DLC reviews I've read haven't been all that positive (FO3 and Mass Effect). I rarely buy any game (at full price) that is short or has no replayablity, that's why I haven't bothered to buy any DLC content so far. I want proper value for my money. But then again I'm not judging the companies, I know there are loads of customers (or idiots) who pay even for things like horse armor. And in the end it's all about what sort of crap (or good) DLC's the customers are willing to pay for. It's not like the gaming business is doing so f***king great at the moment that it would be fair to call (most of the) companies greedy bastards. I'm kinda surprised there are so few games released as "episodes". It cuts the company's development time, gives them income while they are working on the 2nd/3rd.. episode of the game. And there's less risk of bombing totally when you release it in small portions. You will know if there's market for the game or not. If some things are not working you can fix them for the next episode. I personally wouldn't mind if Bioware/Obsidian would start releasing some epic crpg as an episode game if each episode would last like 15-30 hours. Most likely I would be happy that I wouldn't have to wait for numerous years for the final product and I could enjoy part of the game while they are finishing the next part. It wouldn't really differ from books, series or movies ending in a cliffhanger while you are made to wait for the sequel.
  9. Aye, good stuff. Also it seems like there's atleast few internal titles in the work
  10. It's more than slightly sad. I lost all respect towards one Finnish reviewer after his MotB and SoZ reviews. His MotB review wasn't all that positive (around 80 points) and it sure as hell didn't sound very positive. No mention at all about the great storyline, only some whining how the story wasn't easy to follow in the beginning as you couldn't know if the quest is main plot or side quest related... That's funny when the story is pretty much the best story in a crpg since Torment. SoZ I haven't played but that game got around 60 points from the same guy as it wasn't epic enough and didn't have a proper plot etc...
  11. Sounds more like Sega realized with their low amount of marketing Alpha Protocol would have been slaughtered by Dragon Age. With the amount of high profile cRPG's (or any crpg's at all) coming out each year there's really no sense going head to head against the biggest release of the year. Small amount of people working on bug fixes to me seems like the game is pretty much ready to go and they are just waiting for the right window to release it. Also this means Obsidian's other projects won't get delayed because of Alpha Protocol.
  12. I would rather see and play an actual working game on Cryengine 3 before I would even think about licencing it. When is Crysis 2 even coming out and how badly will it run on normal computers and on Xbox360/PS3?
  13. This is clearly a challenge for us! We need to create an international incident! Who is with me?! :D
  14. Did Play magazine consider Mass Effect as an RPG? Or Deus Ex?
  15. Because Sega has locked Mr. Rorie in a basement tied up and gagged. Aka Sega is playing the waiting game and will announce the delay at some point (or well I presume they will) and Obsidian can't do **** about it as they are only the developer and not the published and don't probably want to piss off the hand that feeds them (on this project).
  16. Really? PhysX is free and it's got Nvidia hardware support. I would not bet on Havok. Well, didn't they hire a guy just to program Havok into their games around January? Or was it physics just in general.
  17. I wonder if Sega does it again.. Leaves us hanging and waiting for an official announcement for months. After seeing how they handled Aliens:Crucible cancelling: "No comment. We are still releasing it. No Comment. It's still being worked on. Oh that project, we cancelled it 6 months ago." I'm not looking forward buying any games by Sega with the exception of Alpha Protocol. I can only imagine how frakking annoying this must be for the folks at Obsidian.. Not being able to let their fans know what's happening with the game.
  18. What changes are these? It could be Icewind Dale 3 as well. Didn't Obsidian buy the rights to IWD?
  19. This would be rad. Hmh. Who said that and where?
  20. To Obsidian folks, since you apparently can't reveal the setting etc. yet atleast give us the project name
  21. Best game ever made. I should really replay it sometime. Only Mask of the Betrayer has come close when it comes characters, story and plot in a computer game.
  22. Does Onyx support barrels or crates? Or possibly both? Also need screenshots as proof!
