  1. Since you seem to forget one crucial thing... publisher. It might be totally out of Obsidian's hands. While they might want to do it an another way, their publisher is the shot caller after all. Obsidian isn't self publishing it and therefore can't make such decision as pricing and they sure as s*** can't point the finger at the publisher either due to NDA's.
  2. Seems to me it's Paradox that wanted both of those games on consoles. Obsidian won't turn down such offer if it makes sense to them financially and if it's doable in a fashion that they are happy with. What interests me is, how much did Obsidian have to do with this or did Obsidian/Paradox outsource the porting to a 3rd party?
  3. I don't think half of the people on these forums would mind if they never saw a Fallout 5 from Bethesda if anything they would rejoice.
  4. Batman: Arkham Origins from my endless list of games on Steam that I just haven't had time to play through PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. The game can be very rewarding, but most of the time it's just plain cruel and makes me furious and wonder my own sanity since I keep playing the game.
  5. Not sure, would be quite weird if they weren't there at all. No booth would be understandable, they cost money and they could just rent a conference room or something like that from nearby hotel. It's an opportunity I'm sure they don't want to miss out on, all those press folk in one location...
  6. Redheads have no souls, so can't have those on our tv sets! It's a disease that spreads! Seriously though, I hope they don't diversify the cast just for the sake of diversifying. It gets pretty annoying and in some cases is just plain stupid, especially when done on historical shows just to make that era to seem more accepting and modern.
  7. Alien: Covenant Not the Alien prequel I was expecting it to be. I left the theatre somewhat disappointed.
  8. Not only does it take time to come up with meaningful updates, but there is also limited amount of interesting updates they can do. They don't want to run out of update worthy material well before the game is ready to ship and since it's a plot driven game they can't really go much into detail about the plot without spoiling the fun of discovery. They don't have the budget BioWare/Bethesda has to promote their games with CGI trailers to ramp up the hype either. E3 is coming up, just because they aren't releasing anything right now, doesn't mean there won't be awesome stuff coming up and working on E3 promotional material takes time and is a bigger priority than a Fig update. Your average Fig update won't really raise up much hype, it will get picked up by some gaming sites and might attract some people to follow the campaign, but a great E3 presentation/presence will have gaming sites, Youtubers and gaming magazines write/talk about the game, creating much more interest globally. So with their limited resources it is quite expected that they won't always have biweekly updates or meaty updates. You need to save some of those for E3, GamesCom etc. to keep the game on people's radars, not just on those of us who donated.
  9. What reputation? He seems to work on any game that he is asked to work on at this point. His career at the moment seems to be more of a glorified KS stretch goal than an actual narrative designer. I would love him to focus on a project or two, instead of writing for multiple games at once. Then I could actually expect something from a game he is working on, instead of wondering how little work he actually did on the project and how he was paid and used to get some name recognition for the game.
  10. It didn't sell because Paradox's marketing relies heavily on streaming and streamers which obviously doesn't work with a game like Tyranny or else you've managed to spoil half of the game before the game is even out. But then again, it will sell slowly and it already has DLC's coming up, so not a complete failure.
  11. They don't have a team to work on it though, not to mention an another fantasy setting right now would be an overkill as they already have Tyranny DLC's and Pillars 2 coming up.
  12. They did hint over at Paradox forums that something else is coming as well. Paradox usually releases a portrait pack before an actual content DLC.
  13. I have a -50% code as well if someone wants it.
  14. Is it the kind of job where you don't have to interact with any human being at all? If so, do you have an opening? Mostly no and, I have to talk to people every day and no openings either.
  15. If Deadfire can do what BG2 did, then it's the 1st step towards growing bigger as a company for Obsidian. Keeping the sales figures (hopefully even adding some) from PoE while making the game and IP more prestigious. The could use that money + going for investors and Fig they could get a budget around 15-20 million for the game. While that is not enough for a 60 hour FNV/Witcher like game, it's enough for them to try a 20-30 hour open world game. Not on every platform though, which would hurt the initial sales, but they might be able to port it on other platforms later. That said it's highly doubtful as they would need a larger team for such a game and an engine and putting all eggs into one basket doesn't seem like a move Feargus would make. So if they end up making a open world game like that it would have to happen with the help from a publisher. So rather than going for a Witcher/FNV like game, they are more likely to finish the "trilogy" by doing a 3rd game similar to the 2 others, using some of the profits to fund Sawyer's medieval game and rest on PoE3 and pitches to publishers. Hopefully they get to keep IP on Project Indiana and it creates more opportunities for them as a company.
  16. He's definitely put in his time in the video game business. Can't blame a guy for wanting to relax and enjoy his life. I'd retire right now, if I could afford to, and I'm significantly younger than Brian Fargo. I'd retire immediately if I had the money to do so and I'm 30 years younger than Fargo. But then again I'm not creating anything else except tears and misery. I'm sorry but this made me laugh out loud this morning. I needed that. It was meant as such. My job isn't the sorta job where you make many friends
  17. Didn't them Polish people invent Good Old Games just for this purpose only? I don't need an enhanced version with someone else cashing in on someone's great product. Their own game failed from what I've read and I don't think anyone should add anything to Torment. Not even MCA if they can bring him on to the project. Leave the game as it is if you must release an enhanced edition for it.
  18. I would love a setting that is similar to The Expanse. Different planets as factions and the big/evil corporations. With some realism when it comes to spacefaring and no aliens ( at least not in the 1st game). Mankinds 1st steps into a spacefaring civilization.
  19. While it's easy to just blame Paradox for this. Is it even possible to have a code that unlocks a -50% sale on a game on Steam? It's easy to see why they don't have games on sale on their own store at any other currency than dollars/euros since it would be a big hassle for them to include every market and make sure people don't use VPN to trick their servers to get games at discount prices.
  20. They will most likely announce it during the Paradox Convention or whatever it is called.

  22. Oh dear... leave Torment alone, leave it alone! They failed with their BG"3" and now they are going fater an another Black Isle classic? Damn hacks.
  23. The guy is obnoxious and his points quite stupid... He should have chosen his words more wisely because he has a point there. BioWare uglied up the female character on purpose if those shots from Pre Day 1 patch are actually legit. Why would they do that? That new model looks very weird. I'm not saying ugly, but she looks very un-humanlike to my eyes. Something is just really off with that character model and they probably didn't do enough Q&A to test out that new head model.
  24. It all started when they opened up a bunch of new BioWare offices around North America. I think they closed the one which was supposed to work on Command&Conquer games. Austin studio is working on SWTOR (which really didn't succeed as well as they wanted) and now their Montreal studio ****ed up completely with their biggest IP. Casual gamers don't know the difference between BioWare Edmonton and BioWare Montreal, they see the label BioWare. By naming these other subpar studios as BioWare they've started to destroy the name and expectations people have for BioWare. Like Dragon Age 2 and the stupid ending in Mass Effect 3 weren't enough for people stop paying for their games (I haven't played Dragon Age: Inquisition).
