Applied non-permanent things like this are intended to not stack. It's the same for your own party, same name effects don't stack. Or effects that give the same effect, don't stack. So while I find the Marked Prey a little weird too, it appears to be working as intended. A more in-depth explanation: If a buff/debuff does the same thing as something already on the target, the longer lasting/more powerful one takes precedent. If you have 2 auras that give your party an Armor bonus only the stronger one will apply if you are in range to receive both. The way it worked in the previous game, it broke the buff/debuff down by line; for instance, if you had an Armor and Heal regen buff, and an Armor Move speed buff, only the Armor portion would be over-ridden. So you would get one armor buff, the heal buff and the move speed. Whether it works AT ALL in this game is up in the air, considering the massive amount of bugs.

Bonuses not adding up
Kragtor replied to nstgc's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I made a post day 1 or 2 about the math not working out for Dual Wield reload speed. I tried the math 3 different ways, including an in-depth breakdown from Beta players and it didn't work correctly ANY of the 3 ways that made sense. I can only assume that, like everything else in this POS game, the math on EVERYTHING isn't working right. Good thing I was so excited for a game that I now tell everyone who asks not to bother with. -
Importing a savegame
Kragtor replied to qEin's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
The entire import system is not working correctly. Even if you have no problem with the file itself, the import doesn't put the correct decisions into your game. It will mess-up the endings you worked to get. And beyond that, the world state creator you can use in the second game doesn't give you many of the options you had while completing the quests in the first game. It's just a complete mess. -
I'd love to see chanter/ranger and kite whenever needed. You have a pet to start the combat with, Bear if you want the tanking. Then you start dropping either more pets or stunlock everything once you get a couple chants. I'm also looking at Rogue/Monk or Rogue/Fighter and grabbing the rogue ability to full attack people who miss you in melee. You would do a lot of damage with high deflection and just focus any ranged/casters.

So, just before you go to find the McGuffin in the end of the game, you are given a quest that allows you to pick a Faction to help you or just go solo. I chose to go with the Huana this time. I got a quest to go blow something up and frame 2 of the other factions. I accepted this quest. I completed this quest. Now, talking Queen Onekaza again she mentions getting the Wahaka tribe to ally with her, and then we're good to go. A few things: 1. She did not give me a quest to talk to the Wahaka at ANY point in the game, even now. 2. I had found the Wahaka earlier in the game, and upon convincing them to let me in I spoke to their leader/Roparu. 3. When speaking to the Roparu of the Wahaka, I was given the chance to ask her to join with the Queen. At this point, I had not done ANY of the main story quests and was not on a quest to ally the two tribes. So I didn't click on it. 4. Since I didn't tell them to join when I had no idea what was going on and had no quest to do so, I can now never select that option again. In essence, this is quest #512387483129384719587 that is completely and utterly ****ed up by the people who wrote the triggers somehow not ****ing understanding that the player can access these areas before they have the quest due to the open world nature of the game. I am so GD done with this game, and likely this company. You have RUINED the story in this game through your terrible quest triggers. You give away plot, you destroy quest chains, and now I can't end the game with the faction I want because your triggers are GD broken.

I have 2 companions in my game, Pallegina and Maia, who never gained or lost reputation on the rep screen ever. They've been in my primary party since shortly after getting them, and 30 or so hours in they still have 0 rep either way.

Yeah, i'm wondering if it's bugged now too. When I got the quest I had already killed one of the people. I assumed that I just had sold the grimoire, since they're not quest tagged, so I looked in EVERY SHOP IN GAME over the last couple of hours and didn't find it. So, now I have to assume it's bugged. Like half of the other quest triggers in the game. They give you this open world, and let you do whatever you want.....except that many of the things you can do early **** up the quests because their quest triggers are terrible.

Imports don't work correctly. It doesn't import the correct choices that you made in the first game. Of course, you can create a new world state in the second game main menu, but that doesn't have many of the choices that the first game let you pick. The entire world state system is bugged to absurdity right now.

Everyone who says they haven't experienced a bug must have used Perception as a dump stat. There are bugs literally everywhere in the game, just most are minor. From quest trigger bugs that abound, to bugs with how weapons work with certain enchantments, to the math not working on passive's, bugs are literally everywhere. If you choose to ignore them, or can't be bothered to notice them, then good for you. But they are there.

I am telling everyone I know to wait a minimum of 3 months. There are SO many problems in game right now. I'm not even talking about crashing. I've crashed twice in 70 hours of play. But there are SO many bugs that make we want to never buy from this company again. Perhaps if I had waited a few months for them to fix it, I wouldn't be putting them on a blacklist.

You didn't address SO MANY of the problems with this game, with one of the biggest ones in my eyes just being ignored by your post: Quest triggers and spoilers. In game, if you complete Xoti's quest as early as possible the journal entry about it gives away the ENTIRE PLOT OF THE GAME. And you can complete her quest before ever going anywhere besides the starter island and Neketaka. So without ever stepping foot on the main story line, the entire plot is given away. And then there are all the quest mis-triggers. I had one quest for a faction line; i completed one step of the quest and was told to go back to get the next part. Once I got on my boat, the quest triggered the win condition because, being an open world, I had already done the thing for the quest I didn't yet have. So, i got the end conversation/win dialogue for a quest I hadn't yet picked up. And that's one example of the 3 I can think of off the top of my head. This game is clearly still in beta. There are problems with quest triggers, relationships not working at all let alone being so rudimentary as to wonder why they bothered, the open world ruining the story driven aspect (they should have picked ONE, not tried to do both), many of the items not doing what they say, many of the systems not being clear.... This game is so close to being good, but it feels like they just got to a point and threw up their hands "Good enough!".

The entire relationship system is screwed right now: 1. I've never gotten a single relationship change with Pallegina or Maia, despite using them since I got them like 20 hours ago. 2. Romance is just an "I like you" until you get to the point of sticking your bits in each other, then NOTHING changes about the relationship going forward. 3. Many of the triggers aren't working right, like some people have problems with being able to romance Maia immediately, then she breaks up with you cause you have no relationship points. It's just ANOTHER of the buggy messes in this game. I keep having to tell my friends not to play for the next few months, so they might be able to enjoy it. You know, after it's out of beta.

Dual Wield is the passive, Two Weapon is the passive you have to buy with a point. The way Ranged seems to work is that it just replaces all "Recovery speed" things with "Reload Speed". So it just changes the name, but they all still apply. Edit for Penetration comment: I've not seen anything but additive bonuses for Penetration either. Some weapons have penetration bonus on crit, some foods give penetration, stuff like that; but i've only seen additive that I can recall.

It works on all forms of dual wield according to in-game pop-ups. Dual Ranged, Dual melee, Ranged/Melee split. Here's Dual Ranged screenshot:

Your pistol two weapon is wrong. You give it the same reload modifier as one hand, but it's not. Just putting a second weapon on gives a -30% recovery modifier. The skill Two Weapon gives another 15% if you're comparing as far as the passive skills. You also didn't do a two weapon for Blunderbuss/Wand/Scepter. Just some constructive criticism. Weapon bonuses without the Styles: 1-hand: +12 Accuracy Dual Wield: -30% Recovery speed Shield just gives the shield bonuses, and I don't think 2-hand gets anything without the style either.

Yeah, i've seen these relationship bugs alot too. Not that it matters, the relationships are completely irrelevant. They have zero impact that i've seen. Even the romance stuff. I have a full-fledged romance which consisted of sex once, then nothing for the next 20 hours of gameplay. Person still in my party, no new anything. I can't even kiss them or anything past the "Hey, we're going out now lets stick our bits in each other"

Yeah, the 2 things that have ruined all my enjoyment of this game: 1. Import/World State problems; it's not just that the import didn't work, it's that so many of the things you could do with companions in 1 aren't options in the World State creator for 2. They couldn't be bothered to let you pick the endings that the first game allowed in the quest lines. If you don't want to make it impact-full in the story, fine, whatever. But at least let us pick the ending we ACTUALLY GOT in the first game. 2. Quest Trigger/Spoiler problems. I just finished a side faction quest, and got told to go back to the quest giver. On my way, I pull up the map and see a giant fleet, and one of their ships is coming at me. Turns out, since the open world allowed me to go somewhere that had a quest tied to it, I had completed that quest before I was given it. And the giant fleet was there to support me and thank me, for completing the quest I STILL DIDN'T HAVE! Xoti's companion quest also gives away HUGE spoilers for the main plot. And you can complete it WAY before that story is available through the regular quest line. I found Eothas while just boating around. You know, the WHOLE ****ING POINT OF THE GAME!?!? I just ****ing found him. Just chilling, waiting for me to not be level ****ing 8. Or to have gotten ANY of the main story quests past fixing the ****ing boat. No, you can just GD sail up to where he is and find him. Get the (i assume) end game quest.

Heart-chime Amulet bugged
Kragtor replied to dunehunter's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
You could post a screenshot so someone could explain it. -
Uh...so..all you have to do to sell stuff is left click. If it's a stack, it pops up the window which has the number highlighted to start. So as long as you're not clicking too fast you can just hit 9 and enter, or 99 and enter or whatever and it sells the whole stack. I don't find it that difficult to do, but whatever.

Dual Wield Ranged/Melee
Kragtor replied to Kragtor's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Did some further testing, it does show up it was just listed weird. It's listed as the weapon itself in the Active Effects(Bardatto's Luxury: Grants Nobility), and doesn't show up on the character portrait side bar.
