  1. Everyone else looks pretty much the same... I guess the rules of aging and the laws of time only apply to Aloth Also he lost weight, guess someone stole his dark soda breads after all. I just wish the changes were consistent throughout or none at all. Seems weird that only one was drastically changed... especially when the others are just as obedient to time and aging.
  2. You are correct. The full game's map is small compared to other rpg's in general and other rpg's of the same vein but there will be much content and events to make it packed with critical moments.
  3. The casting system is very experimental but how did you feel about the casting system in the end? Also, what do you think about the dual class progression?
  4. I don't like the idea of a sidekick. They are going to feel like incomplete companions... but that's the point is it not? It's experimental, very much like other traits of the game. I'm sure many people here will love sidekicks as most are backers know what they are getting while the majority of general buyers/players will be confused and ultimately hate sidekicks. Mark my words. People are going to hate sidekicks.
  5. It is an opinion that it is disappointing, however, it's a fact that the ship crew mechanics are far less than Sunless Sea but more than Sid Meiers Pirates. But we can keep being fools and acting like that isn't fact. That works too... Also, I'm sorry that some didn't find the information useful but I know some will. Like I said, it really will appeal to people who have experience in these type of games involving the specified mechanics. Thanks everyone for your comments
  6. I know right! Still someone will still try to make it look like a troll post, just because they see it as a threat or a negative post when it's just a post comparing to other games with ship crew mechanics. I mean, like I said, it's not a huge deal, am just slightly disappointed. It's probably even less of a deal to people who have less experience with ship crew mechanics but grateful that you guys know what I mean
  7. You're very welcome! I suppose some may know the facts already but for those who didn't know, this is a bit of valuable knowledge for those who do not know.
  8. While they are more complex and detailed than a game like say Sid Meier's Pirates, Deadfire is a bit devolved and intrusive when compared to a full-scope rpg such as Sunless Sea... where the options and interactivity are much more plentiful. From what we have seen, there are many npc's to hire but the options of which to interact with them on the ship are ultimately rather limiting. I was hoping that there would be more freedom with the crew than Sunless Sea. I'm not saying the game should be focused on the crew, Sunless Sea was not, so do not confuse my words. If you've played Sunless Sea or Sunless Skies even, then you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, check out some videos or get the game to get an idea. Some valid criticisms here. You know as well as I do that I have seen enough to know exactly what to expect and know what we will not get. This is not a huge issue but was something worth writing about as it is pretty important to some of us backers nonetheless. Just wish I could have said different... But does not in any way change my love for the game. Case closed, and as always, thank you for reading!
  9. Wrong section, this was meant to be posted in the Deadfire (No spoilers) section but my phone broswer messed things up. Whatever. Edit: Hopefully mod will see this and delete, sorry for the mistake. Thread posted in rightful area. Thank you!
  10. Please delete thread, thread re-posted in rightful place.
  11. You can get every pc tomb raider game ever made for about $10.00 right now (minus the 2 newest ones of course). Needless to say, I took the plunge and they really delivered. It's one of those few franchises that's holds up well still til this dat without needing any updates/patches, etc to keep it optimal for newer hardware. Quite the design feat, I'd say.
  12. It's not Steam's fault. Obsidian pretty much has stopped supporting it due to focusing on the sequel.
  13. I think you mean Valve... Valve put Workshop on Steam. Steam is just the store, gotta blame the store-owners here.
  14. LOL! At least the glitch goes to the timing of the horrible song. Nice job, good video Made me smile, thank you.
  15. Although everything you said is correct and has been proven true, this is a fanboy forum. Another thread like this (Refunded something something) was already made wherewhich the OP was trolled by regulars, so expect this thread to get "rekt" in no time. As always, just remember that your opinion has beem noted by Obsidian which is far more important than anyone else like me or other members acknowledging or responding to it. You could have written a private email to them but you are just as validated to write and create this thread. Now, hopefully nobody gets mad at me for stating these truths but just wanted to point out those directives before the trolling even begins. Anyways, glad to read a fellow Obsidian fan's experience whether good or bad. Thank you for your time and have a great day!
  16. Maybe we are playings two totally different types of rpg's but I'd have to disagree, respectfully. Rpg's back then had the same issues then as they do now, the event triggers and other mechanics existed and operated in the same manner then as they do now. There is just as many hand-holding rpg's now as there was then too though. I think the biggest change I have witnessed over the years is that games have only drastically improved in storytelling thanks to writers crafting more invested and relatable stories.
  17. Hope it's a good'n. The only good mech game in recent years I've seen is Brigador. I welcome Batlletech and hope it serves Mech-fans like me well in the future.
  18. I wouldn't invest in a new System Shock if my life depended on it. I'm a huge System Shock fan myself but snart enough to accept that some franchises just need to die in peace and be remembered for how good they are. Instead of people trying to revive it. Sad but true. Also it was to my knowledge that they made it not so System Shock actually so. Imma just go play Prey now.
  19. This is where the one lonely guy in the back of the room yells out "Don't worry, someone will make a mod to fix that!"
  20. Pretty much everyone's expereince with the game... https://youtu.be/bAFnijnPYGU
  21. Agreed. That's kinda like every movie with a hero and villain. The first fight, the hero loses, the second fight, they win lol It night be cliche but yeah, in games it makes a bit more sense and strangley enough, makes your character progression more rewarding rather than your character being a bad@$$ from start to finish. Sometimes to be weak is to be strong (alternative factual data confirms) but also has been true for human logic throughout the ages since compassion has showed as a sign of weakness to the rulers of Harthog but the slaves then defeated them. Interesting piece of the matter I thought and for gaming to embrace that, even moreso.
  22. In regards to Black Panther... Black Panther is pretty good movie, not phenomenal by any means but all the political/racial bs surrounding it is pointless and annoying. It's like repubs and demos need to make drama out of anything to feed ego or breathe. I mean, there are movies in the past that have had far more political messages and agendas but Black Panther is getting it's arse wrecked. Then again, it's made more money than some other Marvel flicks and if Norbit or Big Mama's House made more money than Mrs. Doubtfire, then it that movie would have probably gotten flakk'd too. Aside from that, I saw Braven and it was great. Pretty Tomb-Raiderish but with Jason Momoa instead of a female lead. https://youtu.be/hOwIQNA9A8I
  23. Yep but the only thing bad there is that Valve actually started charging people money for mods, things like Counter-Strike, Portal and Team Fortress were free but when they saw popularity arouse, they sought fit to make a profit cuz why not? Thus, prophetically starting the paid-mod practice in essense and retrospective - not that many people would actually realise this or want to admit it even.
  24. Mine is made of a thinited nut tool lol My brother-in-law's is a tire track iron ring and it's pretty sweet. They are not classy by any means but they are nerdy and pretty cool nonetheless
