  1. Lucas emphasizes at least ten times in his dvd commentaries that SW is no science fiction; if you don't believe anyone else you could at least take the creator's word for it.
  2. It's great to hear this; I was getting already disappointed, two months in advance.
  3. that's a good point, I think; and one of the things I was worried about. The story would have to be entirely original and immersing otherwise it will be a 7th playthrough for many.
  4. How does it play a second time? Third? Replayability is supposed to be one of the developed aspects of this game, so -does it live up to the pre-release hype?
  5. How can you know that the ending was what the devs. did last? Perhaps games aren't put together 'chronologically'?
  6. phew....I thought it was going to be a Hendar spoiler...
  7. How is it any different from Kotor 1 then, except for the fact that the NPC's alignments keep fluctuating?
  8. how would the ideal stats differ btw. LS Consular/Jedi Master and DS Consular/Sith Lord?
  9. This is off topic, but I don't want to open a new thread for it: Now especially during the summer months there's been a huge output of speculations on these forums. ***WITHOUT TELLING ANYTHING SPESIFIC***; can one of you xboxers at least hint whether at least someone came close to guessing anything right??
  10. I pretty much rushed through on my first playing of Kotor; I'll take my time to do every quest with TSL -and the only way to stay concentrated would be to divide it in 10-12 hr sessions at the most. btw now that you have beaten the game; does everyone still think Mira is ugly?
  11. I still have two months to get my hands on the game so I have no idea what the ending is like -but I do remember that way earlier either on these forums or on an interview, it was stated by one of the devs. that the ending was meant to leave gamers in suspense, and in serious anticipation for what is to follow. In saying that the ending wasn't really satisfactory, are you people saying that it's just an arbitrary 'stopping' instead of an ending, or, that it leaves just too many loose ends? I mean, is it as obvious as the ending of TESB, that the resolutions will be coming only in the next episode? Or is it just not well made, despite any effort to link it into a possible 3rd episode?
  12. any recommendation for Consular which I might try on Feb.? (I like to become a Palpatine-like figure)
  13. Civ 1 was the first addictive pc game of many a user, so it has great 'nostalgic' value; but after Civ 2, one can't really go back to Civ 1 for an enjoyable game, with all those limitations. Civ 3, despite all the enrichments, probably isn't as immersive as Civ 2 had been for many people, though.
  14. The audio commentary on the OT dvd set reveals that the Sullustan guy sitting next to Lando Calrissian spoke none other than a local dialect of Kenya; that is he spoke meaningful answers to Lando, translated into this Kenyan language -which they say was a pleasant surprise to Kenyan viewers of ROTJ. Now if the TSL Sullustans are based on the ROTJ-guy -then are they still speaking meaningful Kenyan (?!) or what hilarious things are they making up with mutilated words and phrases.........
  15. folks, there needed to be a spoiler tag for this thread; I'd say it's the most spoilerific info that has appeared so far -not that it would ruin the game or anything, but some people might not have liked to see it. Most weird of all of course is that this is an open chronicle on the official website, that is giving kind of blatant 'hints' !!! What will the next chronicle be, the ending of TSL?? Anyway the discussion of the thread has already drifted elsewhere
  16. I was thinking of founding the Brown Side with Mr. Hanky as our patron-Sith; but now that I'll be leaving the forums there is no point in that. After all I'm glad that I'll get the game only on February because if I had it now I would be failing all my courses and on top of that skip my graduate study application. Now that the game is out, the members of this forum will remember me as the one who made the most far off speculations, or maybe they won't.
  17. exactly. this isn't the Barbie Lightsaber Vacation PlaySet
  18. which HK?
  19. Yes, that's always a risk. You see, Palpatine was a little nice girl before she uncovered the secrets of the dark side. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How can you not possibly know that it was the fear of the dentist that led him down the dark path??? <_<
  20. So the PC's gender can change depending on whether we go light side or dark side?
  21. come on the kid had no jaw
  22. Malak poor bastard I knew no one would vote for him
  23. this smells more and more like......TESB....
  24. Regarding the original post: Much earlier there were many speculations along the same vein, including mine, without even resorting to Canderous's words. I believe that's because TSL is bound to reveal 'the bigger picture' concerning the state of the galaxy in this time period; and doing that entails who the new game's powerful Sith Lords are, what they were doing during Malak's reign, how they relate to the Mandalorian conflict, Revan's fall, etc. etc. etc. So while TSL will be a totally new quest for players, we'll be basically playing to unravel more of the same story, obviously.
  25. If memory serves me right there was once a "We want a Rakatan party member" thread; and a dev. posting there made it clear that there are no Rakatans for TSL. I sort of think they would dominate this game if they were included. EDIT: The exact reference, Chris Avellone, 11 June
