The Power of the Grey Jedi
Sabahattin Dere replied to GreyJedi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
There should have been a "whoa, you managed to stay grey, huh?" prestige class. -
I support Germany.

The Power of the Grey Jedi
Sabahattin Dere replied to GreyJedi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
if you meant to type 'neither LS or DS pts.' it's news to me; is that really possible? I thought the game just forces you into extremes (well sw being the simple moralistic tale that it is; it needs to be like that); so the only way to stay 'grey' is to artificially keep your points balanced by doing good and bad stuff alternately. That surely spoils the role playing experience altogether. -
Referal to Ep. III?

Anyone find extra-sw references though? I'd be delighted if it were Raymond Luxury Yatch (pronounced: Throatwobbler Mangrove) instead of, say, Vaklu. -

How do you manage to balance the ls/ds points that you keep getting throughout the game? Do something good and then a bit of evil----like that? -
I hope all this is to pay some kind of tribute to Farley. He was an extraordinary comedian; and he deserves some respect.

Which is the coolest opening crawler?
Sabahattin Dere replied to Sabahattin Dere's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I should have done a coolest closing credits; or a coolest intermission poll----for those of us who come from countries where there's a tradition (?!) of just slashing films in half for the sake of a stupid 'intermission'. (could this be what inspired Monty Python, for the 'intermission' towards the end of MPatHG?----Whoa, another poll topic: the silliest looking python film name in acronym: MP'sFC; MP'sANFSCD; MPLatHB [figure this one out]; MPatHG; MP'sLoB; MP'sMoL) I'm sure the 'coolest closing credits' would make quite a debate. I'd say TPM, where you wait till the end to hear the Vader breath. (w00t) (w00t) A close second would be Kotor 2, with its dainty aftertaste of WHAT THE HELL??? -

Does General Vaklu remind you of anyone?

I thought George had won a competition of which the prize was that his head model would be used somewhere in the game. Or was it someone else? -
Ryu could beat all three with his eyes closed.

any chance it could be a role playing game?

Not to compare GL with them or anything, but now that Goethe's been quoted it might be safe to say this: Certain composers (Brahms foremost) kept working on finished compositions in order to refine them further. The thing is, this usually took place before publication. It's rare indeed that published compositions got substantially altered; but you do have some notable examples. There are two versions of Wagner's Flying Dutchman, for instance, one in 'number-opera' format----the way he had to stage it----and one in 'continuous drama format'----the way he intended it to be. The second version is (rightly) taken to be the canonical. Mind you I'm not comparing all this with GL; but it's not 'a law of the arts' (?!) that the finished product can *never* be changed.

Could Revan have slewn everyone on the Death Star?
Sabahattin Dere replied to DAWUSS's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Oops, sorry; Gradenko's from Red Alert 1, *cd* 2 Anyhow Ryu could beat any of those guys. -
SW is a fairy tale oriented towards young males, which means a) that the pivotal figures with whom the audience can identify will always be male, and b) that female heroines will be relevant only to the extent that they fill up the rest of that male-fantasy-world in their capacity as 'romantic interests'. Show me one female character from the gamut of SW literature, who is as 'significant' as any male hero, and is not simply a doll. Heck, as significant as a woman gets in the films is to be the hero's baby doll; that's it. And the games aren't terribly different. Just another indication that one should stop looking for *any* kind of sophistication in SW----anything that exceeds the mentality of a 16 year old boy. (Kotor 2 failed, in my opinion, in its hopeless attempt to extract something 'deep' (?!) out of a fairy tale. So did Lucas in his PT as regards politics, 'human nature', and 'love'.) That's the essence of SW, and it's perfectly fine, as simple escapist entertainment.

Could Revan have slewn everyone on the Death Star?
Sabahattin Dere replied to DAWUSS's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
This whole debate is as meaningless as arguing whether Ryu could beat Admiral Gradenko from Red Alert 2. -
Running around using Force Speed, and Force Storm do the trick; as for the floating sabers, Jediphile's method in post #3 is the most intuitive. Force Speed is a must!

Who says that?

In the Colosseum in Rome, being beaten to a pulp, by Bruce Lee.

Now stay on topic! The topic being that the Matrix has nothing to do with Star Wars. Either post something constructive given this subject matter; or don't post at all! AND NONE OF THAT CHUCK NORRIS CRAP

Could Revan have slewn everyone on the Death Star?
Sabahattin Dere replied to DAWUSS's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The only way Revan could kill everyone one on board the Death Star would be for him to employ FORCE-SILLY WALKS so as to avoid blaster bolts. This would allow him to walk among the troopers unhurt, yet be able to take them out one by one by his FORCE-FISH-SLAPPING-DANCE. No it wouldn't. Yes it would. No it wouldn't. Yes it would. No it wouldn't. Yes it would, now get on with it! Then he'd reach the throne room of Palpatine who'd cry out: "I didn't expect the True Sith Inquisition!" to which Revan's reply would be "NOBODY EXPECTS THE TRUE SITH INQUISITION!" After subduing Palpatine, the victorious Dark Lord would encounter Vader; and he'd buy him a glass of beer and proceed to ask: -Do you....have a wife? -I used to have one, yes. -Did your wife.....like the Force? Nudge nudge wink wink, you know what I mean -Yes she did. -Say no more! Say no more! Did your wife....like to fly spacecraft? -Yes, occasionally. -Wohooo.....say no more! Say no more! -Are you insinuating something Lord Revan? -Well, no.....yes.....you're an evil lord of the Sith, right, Lord Vader -Yes I am -So you've killed your wife too? -Yes -What's it like? And then he'd leave the dumbfounded Vader, singing: I'm a Sith-y-Lord and I'm ok, I sleep all night, I work all day (He's a Sith-y-Lord and he'd ok, He sleeps all night, he works all day) bla-bla-bla -
Could Revan have slewn everyone on the Death Star?
Sabahattin Dere replied to DAWUSS's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
No the black knight of SW is Anakin with his legs and arm chopped off and all----and still chafing Obi Wan. Revan would be more like Lancelot slashing through the wedding---sorry the Star Forge. and as to Chuck Norris being invincible: The Colosseum fight with Bruce Lee, anyone? -

There's a bit showing a guy wielding the wii controller like the hilt of a sword. Hmmm.......
