All the ideas which fans are capable of coming up with, seem to have been covered given the amount of info. released. On the other hand, that amounts to NOTHING! So nothing has been covered yet, on these forums; except the answers from the Devs.

Theories on the masked sith guy!
Sabahattin Dere replied to Stargate: 2000's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It's just speculation-fever; no one's giving stark logical reasoning, we're just coming up with possibilities. Though an exact answer to your question is I believe that knowing how much Kotor was indebted to the Original Trilogy, speculation-makers are looking for more parallelisms -and what better theme than the Vader-Luke relationship to muse upon? Especially since it has been mentioned that the game will have a tESB-like feel to it. -
Most Powerful Sith Lord Ever?

I believe you're alluding to the rumored lightsaber duel between certain two individuals, of whom the swordsmanship of one I seemed to be underestimating. :D -
Most Powerful Sith Lord Ever?
Sabahattin Dere replied to Darth Sirius's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I imagine each powerful Jedi is outstanding in some unique talent, which would make comparison difficult. Anakin could beat Mace Windu as a pilot but definitely not as a swordsman; Yoda could beat anyone using force powers but probably he wasn't a good pilot, and maybe a lesser swordsman in comparison to Windu etc. etc. now who could Luke beat? Who *did* he beat for God's sake? -Jabba & Co. -who else? When it comes to Sith Lords -I've always thought Palpatine doesn't stand a chance against the brute physical force of Vader, or any other Jedi with lightsaber skills; but when it comes to doing creepy magic, he was unbeatable. -

Theories on the masked sith guy!
Sabahattin Dere replied to Stargate: 2000's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I believe it's just part of the mask that appears like horns under the black veils why would they design horns only to conceal them? The image of Maul was specially crafted to look as 'satanic' as possible, hence the horns. Malak was designed jawless in order to inspire dread, disgust, even pity -with a clear allusion to Vader. Unless there's the face of a bull under the mask, I believe it's just the 'exotic-mask' that looks that way. No one will find it worthwhile to discover, later into the game, that the guy has horns, after all. -
Theories on the masked sith guy!
Sabahattin Dere replied to Stargate: 2000's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Some WHC-MaskedGuy theories: -tMG may be the WHC's former Jedi master or father (the latter less likely though) -WHC may or may not know this till the end of the game -the sole motivation for the WHC could be to avenge the Jedi purge. Actually the reason she joins us could be to find the MG -the chief responsible for the massacre- -the final battle scene and climax of the game may be the ultimate confrontation between the MG, and the main character with WHC at his/her side. -the WHC, during that battle, may ---hear the ultimate revelation (a la tESB, obviously) ---get killed afterwards ---or suffer a grave injury ---and/or become lost, taken prisoner, etc.['good' ending with a bitter taste] -It may be us that deals the deadly strike on the Sith Lord (a la tPM) -the WHC's parting/dying words could be the bridge into the 3rd Kotor episode (again, a la tPM; and also in accordance with what the devs. have said in earlier interviews, that the ending of the game may really be leaving us in suspense -
The pre-release info., screenshots and videos are getting more and more impressive

Well the Lords could have come from any class; all I'm saying is that the idea that 'each Lord will be the commander of one class' is very uninterestinng.

a 'Darth-something' being paid to kill people sounds quite improbable. I think Sion's farthest association with being an assassin can be that he's the master of some very powerful assassin-apprentices. I can't say that I find the conjecture as to every major Sith Lord being the head of a Sith prestige class appealing at all. First of all it's a very simple association; and assuming that the Sith Lords won't be acting collectively, having fighting armies of different areas of Sith expertise adds a very banal theme into the story. Why would 'Lords' gang up to fight the guild of Marauders who in turn don't like the Assassins-Association? If a 'reason' for that isn't provided in the story, then it will be off-putting --and what could be the reason? Besides, a Sith 'Lord' would be expected to have diverse powers under his command; going only with assasins or Marauders is like entering war with only one type of soldier: Armies of Horsemen only fighting against armies of only Archers --rather boring and odd. A Sith faction consisting only of 'Lords' is absurd to begin with. I believe many Sith that have become powerful in distinct prestige classes will be found serving under each Lord.

Theories on the masked sith guy!
Sabahattin Dere replied to Stargate: 2000's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
that could be true but on the other hand, ever since any tangible info. has been released on the game, we've seen the picture of the masked guy under the logo: KotOR - The Sith Lords ---and despite his overwhelmingly imposing stature in the concept art, the wallpaper, and the official site graphics, he remains a total mystery. That's what leads people to associate him with the very name of the game; so from there it's possible to deduce he's the 'strongest Sith Lord'. As speculation it 'makes sense' ---but what we encounter in the game could even be the exact opposite! -
Theories on the masked sith guy!
Sabahattin Dere replied to Stargate: 2000's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
My glorious theories concerning the Sith Lords. I had posted them earlier. Darth X: The masked guy. This one is the strongest; so much that his initial plans were to let the upstart Malak destroy the republic with his 'toy', the Star Forge, and only then to wipe out Malak, to become the master of a Jedi-less galaxy. He could not foresee, that Revan was indeed alive, though. As soon as Malak was out of the way, he attacked: Revan countered the attack, but mysteriously, he became lost during the conflict. (Works with both Kotor endings) Darth X was thus not only 'weakened' by Revan, but he now had competing Sith Lords to deal with as well. Darth Y: This could be anything. The former apprentice to the masked guy who declared independence? A powerful Dark Jedi? A 'freelance' Sith Lord like the others? Master of a special sort of Magic which makes him invincible, though he may not be the greatest of Sith, whatever.... Darth Y(s) took advantage of the power vacuum after the fall of Malak, and stepped on the scene. Darth Sion: The minor Sith Lord, who was out of the whole thing for quite a while; he's trying to catch up with the other guys. He's the most sinister one and works in secret. He needs either to have a strong apprentice, or to have an army. He approaches the main character, with the intention of taking him on as apprentice. His covert activities on Onderon (remember the latest Game Spot interview which does mention that we meet Sion in some underground realm on Onderon) are also directed towards a similar end. -

New features on the Ebon Hawk?
Sabahattin Dere replied to Darth Sun_Tzu's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
from the weekend programmer thread: That's a good question. The problem is that I'm not familiar with the details of the areas being shown to tell if it is a mockup or the real thing. I have to imagine that for the flyover they wouldn't have bothered setting up mockups when the real thing is already there, so the best I can say is that that was all probably the real thing, as it existed when they made the video. Everything is always subject to change of course. -Akari <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Now it *could* be that everything on the flyover is genuine -then there's a chance that we get access to the SF robes -and why not 'find' them on the Hawk? -

While these guys draw most of this stuff by hand, they use converters for the more complex stuff. I had one such shareware program long ago [in the old BBS days]; you feed in a black and white bitmap, and out comes an ascii picture -which appears as if you spent your life mastering the craft! -

Questions to Dev's - take 3

I don't think Akari would answer that question since it's story-based; the best place to ask it seems to be here. -
1up's Urquhart Feargus interview
Sabahattin Dere replied to funcroc's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I believe one answer could be that this being Star Wars, for the sake of a vulgarly-'epic' timescale, a nonsensical way-off time period would have to be preferred. Anything for a more grandiose-feel will be acceptable. -
My cousin told me the official release date

what a sense of humor... -
Thanks for clarifying that. Would it be reasonable at this point to ask whether trailers-preview videos-screenshots that are being released nowadays still make use of 'stand-ins' for certain graphics such as character types, robes, weapons, etc.; or, can we hope to start interpreting everything that we get to see, to be genuine in-game TSL images? You see, a half-second detail on a video and we'll use that to start new speculations.

10 as well It never crushed on my computer; the only weirdness I experienced was that in the enclave of the One on the beach planet, I was able to walk through a wall once.
