  1. He used to eat a can of firaxan shark every day. Yes.
  2. one more lightsaber color thread and people will start dropping dead due to intoxication If it will be a Dec. release, there remain 4 mere months: Devs. PLEASE release interesting new stuff; like a better trailer, info. on the W.H.C., the Masked Guy, whatever....WHATEVER......
  3. Me too (but isn't that time period somewhat crippled because of the Yuuzhan Vong?) Perhaps the game could take place much later; this time 4000 years *after* RotJ
  4. The Matale father rushes to the door, hoping it is his son who has returned. --he's startled to see a young girl instead, with Cinnamon Buns at two sides of her head. She says: "Dantooine, they're on Dantooine!" All of a sudden, a band of wayward Sith troops storm the estate front yard. Their leader, Governor Harlequin, fiercely interrupts: "Liar! On Dantooine are only a yoda clone, senile council members, and women who sexually abuse their droids!" and they blow up Taris instead SD watches the entire conflict up from his room. He's amazed how he's screwed his whole last year.
  5. I must have missed this one; do you have a link?
  6. I've lots of time to spare on the WHC tonight. This is from the 'Mysterious Metamorphosis' thread: Chris Avellone's answer below: Hypothetically, that's probably it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When I first read it I though he asserts her being a representative of the 'extreme LS' --just as the Masked Guy would be the extreme DS, i.e. the strongest Sith Lord. That's why I came to think she's a priviledged party member, being an 'extreme Jedi' (!) The next time Avellone refers to the WHC is this: From what I saw, there weren't really any spoilers. It showed that new bounty hunter, Mira, in action, as well as I think the white haired Jedi. None of the plot or storyline was shown, and none of the end bosses or returning NPCs were shown. Yeah, the E3 demo "storyline" had nothing to do with the K2 game - it was a conscious decision. The white-haired chick in the demo isn't Arren Kae - it's just one of the female PC heads you can choose. I don't think the "white haired chick" was in any of the E3 levels, and if she was, then she's a sneaky one. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Which doesn' reveal anything of course.
  7. The word 'Malak' means 'Water Buffalo Calf' in Turkish -if that's the meaning they cared for, then *seriously* it suits him much better! :D :D
  8. Still it's not categorically ruled out; someone on the Sion thread wrote a very convincing account for how Malak and Revan may come from Hebrew
  9. quite possible given that Jedi means George Lucas in Sanskrit...
  10. ...if it really derives from 'deadly' and 'terrible', maybe it's the name of the guy in the mask! Darth Atris???
  11. We may or may not believe the testimony of the early Forum Fathers who saw the name, and wrote the Good News for us. Here's something else: Now a couple of weeks back I tried to search where the name could be deriving from, here is what I found and posted: I was curious and tried to find out from where the name Atris could be deriving. I couldn't find anything certain but here's something interesting: ater, atra -um, atrior -or -us, aterrimus -a -um ADJ black, dark; dark-colored (hair/skin); gloomy/murky; unlucky; sordid/squalid; deadly, terrible, grisly (esp. connected with underworld); poisonous: spiteful the ablative declension for female plural appears to be: Atris this hardly makes any sense because it's plural; and though I don't speak Latin, as far as I understand, ablative declension comes after a preposition in a sentence, so it doesn't stand alone. If the author of TSL had this connection in mind, then the best thing that comes to my mind is that 'Atris' derives either from the Latin word for 'sad', 'gloomy', 'unfortunate', or weird though it sounds, 'dark', 'poisonous', 'spiteful', etc. -albeit the derivation is grammatically unsound. In any case for a fantasy-character, Atris sounds better than 'Atra' Forgive me for this post of ignorance; anyone who speaks Latin is more than welcome to assess Atris as a somewhat-Latin-derived word. Online resources always return 'Dark, Gloomy' for similar sounding words like Atrus, Atrum, Atra (female singular), etc. So I repeat: Anyone who at least has a notion of Latin or Greek -does the name Atris ring a bell?
  12. Wait a second; there is no 'quote'! It's all a myth that we've made up.... Nightcleaver said this on June 19 By August 11, this is still all we know about 'Atris' The only time a dev. mentioned the name is when Akari said "That's not Atris" -referring to the in-game shot of the girl with the blue lightsaber and white hood. So: FACT: There is the White Haired Girl on the Concept Art FACT: She is the earliest KOTOR II that character that we've been introduced to, along with the Masked Guy -who, likewise, is still a mystery FACT: There is a character named 'Atris' in the game MYTH: It is said that on an erased early post by a dev., the name 'Atris' was used to designate the white haired girl on the concept art. Ok then let's talk about the White Haired Girl, whatever her name is! But then again there's already a full thread on speculations pertaining to her.
  13. Wait a sec. I'll conduct a search on the forums and find the quotes
  14. Thirded. That would also mean that the main quest does not unfold in a manner as simple and straightforward as the SF adventure.
  15. Now that the picture issue is resolved, let's speculate. I moved my above post here :D :D Stuff that I've been able to make up at the top of my head as of yet, concerning Atris: --Her name *may* be derived from the word 'Gloomy' or 'Unfortunate' in Latin; as well as 'Dark' or even 'Evil' ---really odd. Maybe there's a reason why even her real name seems to be 'confidential': *Nothing* has been confirmed about her yet; the only time a dev. pronounced her name was when Akari said, referring to the second screenshot that you're linking, that the lady in white on that in-game shot *isn't* ''Atris''. --She may become the main character's Jedi Master --She may be the former apprentice of the Jedi Master who turned to the Dark Side to become the game's most powerful Sith Lord; she may also be in another close past relationship to him. --She may be the strongest Jedi survivor of the massacre --She may die at the end of the game, or become kidnapped, or get lost -in emulation both with the SW films, and also in accordance with Avellone's assertion earlier, that in this game 'bad things happen to good people', and that the happier ending has a bitter taste to it. --That we still haven't seen an in game shot of her, while she is the biggest celebrity of the game, is indeed a weird situation. Perhaps her role as an NPC will really be 'priviledged' -this corroborates the theory that she may be the main character's Jedi Master
  16. ??? The White Haired Chick a.k.a Atris is featured on two concept art pictures, and on the Wallpaper -- those are the only images we have of her. I don't understand why you got things mixed up? The white girl on the in-game screenshot that you gave a link for is NOT Atris, as Akari confirmed; but everybody *since the beginning*, refers to that white haired girl on the *concept art* as Atris.
  17. I meant there's no *in-game* shots of her. There's the Concept art (your first link) which *is* Atris.
  18. er... she's pretty.... and the whole aura of mystery helps build up lots of curiousity. I have to confess I'm *really* curious who she may be; I'd be disappointed, not to see her as a priviledged party member -sort of like Bastila; preferably even more 'priviledged'.
  19. I wonder how the Star Forge, being the great Dark-Side artifact that it is, can 'generate' impressive LS robes. Weird.
  20. Er... no the continuation of the movie is as follows: S.D.'s escape pod lands on Dantooine, among a herd of wild Kath Hounds. S.D. Ignites his Lightsaber, and cuts them down, simultaneously roasting their flesh for a fine dinner. The world-weary Jedi then proceeds to the Matale grounds and applies for a job: He is granted the position of Janitor, and lives happily thereafter.
  21. I want to discover and use ancient holocrons. Yes.
  22. I'm proud to have opened a pointless thread A celebration of how I'm misconducting my time
  23. --As the mighty fanfare reverberates aroud the hall, the mighty yellow roll-up begins to fade into the vast reaches of the sea of stars-- EPISODE 1.4 Attack of the Clone-Threads It is a dark time for the FANS. Although a new TRAILER has recently been released, new topics of discussion have rapidly withered; leaving the members aimlessly musing on effete questions. NEW MEMBERS, with the aid of Older Ones under the clutches of BOREDOM, resurrect worn-out topics that result in frustrating CLONE-THREADS. Famine is spreading throughout the Galaxy, the only remaining source of nutrition being the bread-crust Akari is sprinkling before Sparrow-like Fans. It is about time that OBSIDIAN releases a bit of new information on THE MASKED GUY, or a party member, so that the FANS do not perish, of boredom......
  24. This is one of the earlier screenshots; all graphics except for the environment and Kreia may be mere placeholders. and please no Star Forges for the sequels. It's done, finished: The Death-Star clone has to know its place.
  25. I say: Father and Daughter Father Jedi has turned to the Dark Side, become a Sith Lord or: Former Master - Apprentice Daughter OR Former Apprentice Atris is the most powerful Jedi among those who have escaped the massacre. She takes our LS character on as apprentice. At the end of the game, our character and his master Atris engage in a duel of the fates (!) with the Sith Lord with the mask. Atris dies; we strike the deadly blow. The game ends. Everybody goes to the beach planet to line up and wave at the camera.
