  1. PP move to Epic is a bit sucky. But with some clarification and promises it seems like a move which will benefit all parties involved in the end. 1) Pre-Epic_exclusive_announcement backers will receive a key for Epic Store on launch, and another key for a platform of they choosing after the exclusivity deal will expire (the second half was added soon after the backlash started. 2) Those early backers will receive a year of free DLC - according to Julian they plan to release 3 paid DLC on top of free updates. Those will transfer to the secondary platform after a year has passed. 3) Game will still be DRM free. One needs Epic Store to download and update the game, but once it is done one doesn't need to open the application and it can even be removed. According to Gallop achievements and cloud saves are to be added to the Epic Store by the time PP releases. 4) Snapshot got a cash injections, giving them stability and allowing them to work on Phoenix Point post launch - something which they kept in "if it does well" category till this point. It's inconvienent, but other than that it sounds like a pretty good deal.
  2. It is a common request however, accurate maps of Eora aren't accessible due to Order of the Occult Hand activity.
  3. Ha! Actually, now when you mention it White March is my favourite piece of content in the whole PoE frenchise so far. Pacing is excellent, combat is satisfying by being challenging but not frustrating. It provides just enough freedom while still providing strong narrative with revelation that is foreshadowed throughout the adventure. I think the balance of dark themes, adventure and humor is perfect - something that wasn't achieved in neither of base games. Durgans battery is an excellent dungeon, and Ondra's sanctum was brilliant. Deadfire topped it in term of gameplay complexity, but I thought it is still the most interesting location in the series. I wouldn't call a fight every few feet excellent pacing I remember WM being dense but never boring. While some areas were packed with combat areas for the most part they were different from each other (some parts of Durgan Battery had a bit too many similar mobs, especially the lowest level). Outside areas like (Longwatch Falls, Russetwood, Whitestone Hollow) are the best outside areas in the series, with bunch of unique encounters, some story content. I liked that apprach more over filler content of PoE1 and one fight per map content of Deadfire.
  4. There is no direct reference. Boeroer listed some influences of cultures from Asia which already made it into Eora. Obs did say that while they do take inspiration from real cultures they avoid taking too much from one culture to avoid direct comparisons.

  6. I enjoy playing through Deadfire more - if you were to sit me down and choose me which one to play I would pick Deadfire. I like overall system design better, it's better paced, allows more freedom in how you progress. However, I was more satisfied upon the completion of a PoE playthrough due to a stronger overall narrative.
  7. Still better than Dragon Age: Origins, with flexible character placement.
  8. Nah, you return to your own body. When you leave beyond you go to your original body, which Steward and Eder dragged into a ship and chased Eothas to sustain you. Though, if you didn’t have Eder you might have missed that piece of context.
  9. Guards turn hostile in turn-based combat even If no action was taken. It was reported multiple times, So i doubt Obsidian is unaware of the issue.
  10. Pathfinding worse than BG2? I don't think so. However, breaking engagement can be punishing, and that didn't exist in BG2. Pathfinding was certainly a player had to deal with in PoE1.
  11. Okay, lets say that was the case, the question remains; how are people I just started talking to able to know my name? That is the case, though it is not impossible that some choices weren't important correctly or werent accounted for at all. I personally encountered many issues with the save import though it was at launch. Overall, I am not a fan of PoE1 reactivity in Deadfire as it's downplaying influence you had in PoE1. Returning companions end up the same in spite of how different they could end up in PoE. Understandable, but not satisfying for returning players. Having my Pallegina not be Kind Wayfarer and being pardoned and recognised as Vtc official within minutes of encountering her in Deadfire was disappointing. Avoid doing reactivity, rather then doing it in such limited capacity, I say!
  12. OW2 is quite likely considering a very positive reception so far. If it does well, tis would be silly not to develop it further. We know there are two unannouned projects being worked on right now. I would be surprised if one of them wasn't Eora related - while there is a lot of doomsaying due to Deadfire's poor sales (allegedly), I would be shocked if PoE IP was ditched all together. It might change a bit or a lot, but as one of two Obsidian's own established IPs it would seem strange to me to not continue it in some shape or form. Third project - New IP? Game using Microsoft owned IP?
  13. I would say Veteran plus only less XP portion of this mod, if you don't want to overlevel content too much: https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/43?tab=files Don't be discouraged by the opening isle (espessially Gorecci street) as it is as hard as the game will get. EDIT: Oh, and scale everything up-only.
  14. You import choices, not the character. What race/class you were in PoE1 is simply not taken into account. It is assumed that you continue to be, who you were in PoE1. if continuity is important for you (as it was for me) you can recreate the character.
  15. That's the point:https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Scourge_of_Bezzello Eh...never felt the need to use crossbows or arbalests. But I hear you, maybe others might. Oh, I don't remember if it's any good but it's a crossbow and viola d'amore in one. Worth the trouble, I say.
  16. Deadfire falls in this awkward spot between heavily controlled bioware style RPG and a more mechanically consistant Fallout. They added plenty of mechanics, like pickpocketing, better stealth, day and night cycles with scheduling however, all of those are relevant only when the game says they are. Pickpocketing is there, but I am yet to find it useful beyond some very specific quests. Only few NPC and one building changes during day&night. Some NPC do have unique cone of vision (see forgotten Sanctum) and yet, it was not done to other blind NPC if it wasn't part of quest design. That tendency to not go all the way is what makes Deadfire such an odd and disjointed game.
  17. If it bleed you can kill it. I remember it was a tough fight, even on a veteran. I don't think there was any particular trick to it.
  18. I had hopes once upon a time for major expansion, but I am pretty sure Deadfire’s is getting wrapped up and team is moving on. PoE3 is the best we can hope for, whatever form it would take. Being Obsidians own IP I would be surprised if they would abandon it all together - more likely they will change the form is some way or another. With two projects in the works confirmed it is not Impossble that one of them is Eora related. We will see.
  19. It is a bit vague. At the same time the wave interaction indicates that you should investigate Tikiwara and Black Isle and tentacles on the Black Isle are a bit of a giveaway. I don’t think it is an issue, except this is the only quest which is not explicitly tracked since the very beginning.
  20. Here it is - https://support.obsidian.net/article/39-how-do-i-start-the-forgotten-sanctum-dlc Interesting. I am curious when she will show up in my current playthrough. What I was refering was something that was written on this forum, though I can't be bothered to look for it and see if I remember correctly . From this link it seems that Llengrath should nudge you toward to quest if you don't find it yourself.
  21. Speaking of humble, the monthly deal is a keeper. Tried the demo for Mutant just the other day and it looks really fine, I had my eyes for a deep sale on Absolver as it seemed interesting, and the third game I never heard of and it looks like its right up my alley.
  22. Probably an oversight. My guess is that the check is tied to “water” key word, but not “frost” key word. Good catch.
  23. If I remember well, one of the devs said that Lengrath landing isn’t tied to the beginning of FS. She appears very late in the game, so if you loaded your pre-endgame save you will probably get her before heading to FS.
