  1. I am not lecturing them. I am saying that actions have consequences. They will lose customers from this action. Go to any forum outside here and look (well even on here you see people voicing their opinion) It is not only us the consumer, but also the developer/publisher that have to actually voice their opinion. If they sit back and do nothing they are to blame as well. There are many ways to ensure that your product is published freely etc.
  2. No it is a Epic exclusive, some say that it is also on the win shop, but don't you need win10 for that (it is pretty much just an xbox shop) They advertised on steam for hype, then took the money from Epic and made it exclusive. I have lost alot of respect from obsidian after this! People that care about pro consumer features and choice in where to buy, should not support this practice and the Epic shop (they want a monopoly market ala xbox)
  3. It tells me that you don't understand how developer/publisher relationships work, and haven't been following this game sufficiently to understand that Obsidian did not make this decision. I fully understand what is at play. The cut people talk about is also stupid, since Tim Sweeney have already said 12% for them is not viable once they launch more features (if they do) It is also only the Publisher that benefit from this, not the developer and the big loser is you and me (the consumer) If they wanted to release the game exclusive on my self made server platform (I can just attach a shop site) then I can give them 95% cut.. But you will not have any features or support, let alone refunds... The whole cut talk is stupid as it is, since Epic is already letting some resellers that take 30% cut sell keys...... The cut might need to be handled different on changes might need to come, but anti consumer moves like exclusiveness on a known site that not just data mine without concent but also have no support or features for us (the consumer) is not a valid reason.. Besides if it was about the cut, they could just have moved to discord or humble or whatever... Plenty of other places have "lower cut" the thing at play here is obsidian talking a pile of cash in advanced and not caring about the exclusiveness.. I just don't want to see all these publishers that have gone exclusive cry about failed sales because piracy increase (trust me it will increase alot) because they started it themselves.. Customers want safety, features and a choice to buy where they want. (again this is not a pro steam debate) I would buy the game if it was on GoG or Obsidian had their own launcher, I just don't want to risk my sensetive information on Epic, nor do I want to support their exclusiveness trend.. If I wanted that I would buy a console.

  5. https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/109203-actions-have-consequences/ Should tell you all you need to know about that.
  6. Hi all. I have not been very active on this forum for a long while, but I have played all games Obsidian made (old and new) and I loved PoE and PoE2. But now that will change and it makes me a little sad to actually do so, but I simply can't support Obsidian in their current behaviour. - I want to say I understand the logic behind their "free cash to go exclusive on 3rd party shop" but for consumers this is a problem! I will never go to a site like Epic, it is not just anti consumer it has poor security, steal information from users (they even admitted this and tried to hide it as a mistake), they also have a awful barebone shop with a launcher that many people have problem using! People have been writing about how it does not work and that support is non existing (we are not talking days, weeks, but months and still no reply) Epic also wants a market where 3rd party games are exclusive to them.. Well guess what.. I am a fan of your games, I bought all your games!!! even crowdfunded... But this.... I will not be forced into buying games on such a place, then I will simply skip the game. What you are doing now will have consequences in the future, also when Epic is not just splashing cash out anymore. Look at how publishers like Ubisoft is still having a bad reputation after the piracy talk years back.. they have tried almost everything to showcase customers as "good" people now instead of pirates, but all remember. We will also remember this action from you Obsidian. You supported exclusiveness to a unsecure site where people have no benefit.. As I said.. If you released on different places I would not have this problem (even if steam was not included) but forcing people to use a site that is well known for (let me list it again) - Security problems - Data mining without concent - No support - Broken launcher - Barebone shop - Anti consumer That is a problem for me and should be for anyone else, fan or not.. I have defended you many times, defended your games that i have liked, but this.. this I can't support no matter the reason. Is a pile of cash in advance really more important than your fans and pro consumer actions? One thing is certain. I will not buy the outer world, not even once it hit other storefronts/platforms like GoG, Steam, etc. I don't support anti consumer and exclusiveness ala console style.. Even if you make new and good games that are not exclusive. This will most likely have impact on future sales/games as well from fans that think like me and no.. we are not a minority.. I don't support piracy and have always bought my games, but your move here will increase that as well.. Because those that unlike me just buys an alternative, will go fetch it the other way instead of risking their sensetive information on using Epic. Goodbye for now Obsidian. I hope you choose another path in the future, but for now "in my game" you picked a choice that lead to your death.. Lets see what happens when you load up the save.
  7. Whilst true that the inconsistencies extend beyond Eder and Vela, the latest beta build notes mention new changes made to a broader range of values that were not being applied correctly. Most (likely all) of the value will only correctly set on a completely new start. Existing campaigns will already have the improper values assigned (Not sure Obsidian will ever be able to correct existing campaigns as that poses a huge headache). So are the inconsistencies you're seeing with Wael and such coming after using the latest beta build and starting a completely new campaign and import? I might be able to tell you later on. I started a new game with the new beta patch applied and so far it seems fine with everything including dispisitions.
  8. I've reinstalled the beta (on steam) today to test the Eder bug and I can confirm that it now works! It will be great playing the game later
  9. Sounds great will opt for beta later and try it out. I guess they want to keep beta for a week more to release full patch with dlc I tested the new beta update today and they have fixed alot it seems, since my import save no correctly makes Eder mayor
  10. Hopefully the stuff that does not work in beta is irked out in the full patch
  11. Someone took a tweet from JSawyer saying "we're targeting Tuesday" to mean "there will be a patch Tuesday" instead of "we're working on a patch that we hope will be ready on Tuesday". I guess there are still alot of issues since the beta didnt fix much. Guess it will come later in the week
  12. Are you telling us that if Eder is bugged for us in the beta it will in the full patch as well ? Because then I think it will be a long time until I get to play. Do you have a eta for the patch?
  13. This!!! I would've respec'd already if it wasn't for this, and the price is only getting higher and higher... It should be fixed in the patch that will come out today. It's possible the patch today will simply be the current beta patch (build 82) being pushed to live. If that's the case, it won't include that fix. But they'll most likely keep updating the beta branch with newer builds, so hopefully a fix will happen soon, regardless of it it's on live or beta. I doubt it, since they said they would address some of the stuff from the beta, so I honestly think it will have more fixes.. Why else bother keeping the current beta, when they already knew imports were still screwed ie.
  14. It will change once the new patch comes later today. People also go wonkers if everything is not perfect from the get go
  15. This!!! I would've respec'd already if it wasn't for this, and the price is only getting higher and higher... It should be fixed in the patch that will come out today.
  16. Thats a good way to get malware or virus. My suggestion is Use your own save game from the first one (if you played) if you didnt then play that first. If you refuse the above, then pick one of the premade ones
  17. It should be fixed with today's patch, but even people that don't think they are affected are affected in various ways, there are tons of flag problems.
  18. People are way to emotical now a days and expect flawless games.. Its never been like this and Obsidian even if there are major bugs in this game actually tries to fix them! I think the patch today will solve alot of the issues at hand (import bug, respec, etc) I myself have only played 2½ hours because I want my import to be right (can't have Eder being into faith) I don't mind waiting until today tbh if it means the game as better off. I will review the game once its been out a few months thats the fair thing to do.
  19. I've not played more than 2½ hours due to the fact I want my Eder to be right (he has fatih due to import bug) but in those 2½ hours my Wizard was op even from the get go.
  20. I am sure most grave issues likes the import bug, black screen and respec issue will be fixed with the patch today! Thats why they put out a beta patch to test!
  21. There are major flag issues atm. Yes if you had Eder night marked you would not get the Eder bug and if you didnt "snatch" the orlan baby you wont be missing her. But there are tons of other flag issues and some are not just early game I have heard. I advice everyone that is not far into the game to refrain from gaming until the patch tomorrow. The beta patch fixed some issues but not all, Eder ie is still bugged. So wait for the patch tomorrow.
  22. The unfriendly but still correct answer could be "Bootcamp" you have a PC, the only thing mac about it is your OS and design. The friendly and my geniune advice. Wait for the patch tomorrow and don't bother with the beta patch! because the beta patch is still flawed and was used to test, some issues was resolved however, but since the patch is tommorow just wait for it.
  23. It should all be fixed in the next patch. If story and choices matters to people I advice them to refrain from playing until that patch What I'm saying is with this beta patch it's still bugged out for me, so what are the chances it'll be fixed in the live version unless something has changed from the beta patch to the live version. They said they will address it in the live patch on tuesday! The beta patch exist to test if they fixed stuff. I am certain they will fix the Eder problem.
  24. Ah, TW3, the mindless dotted trail-following simulator.Similar to BG2. I agree with OP,Witcher3 is a new BG2: an open game with bunch of well written, engaging linear adventures. Personally, I don’t feel like Deadfire is a pirate game. I spend most of my time in good, old fashioned dungeon adventuring. I am having increasing worries about narrative design (be it story or companions) but I will withhold my judgment until I beat the game. Lol you really wanna compere a isometic D&D style rpg to a Action RPG.. TW is good, but nothing like these games and they will never be.
  25. I don't get why its so important for people to play PotD and why its even more important to exploit mechanics to such a degree.. But to each his own.
