  1. Maybe someone posted these already, but I used these for my PC. I might have messed up the colors of the convo versions because I am colorblind.
  2. Deflection is broken in POE and POEII, I don't think it's fixable. The fact that you don't need a shield to deflect damage I don't understand. The fact that a person carrying a bow can be more effective in deflecting a shot or two handed sword than a person carrying a shield and sword because he is "higher level" is beyond me. The only way to make shields effective is to give shields and weapons delfection stats and remove the deflection stat from characters themselves. The main issue in this game is one that plagues D&D as well. People go for the "My Deflection is higher than your max accuracy" sweetspot making your character invulnerable. I think it is far better to make your character more relyant on the type of equipment and have your character focus on a specific fighting style rather than just boosting stats.
  3. Interesting. I had the same idea when playing Deadfire. Sure the story nudges you into either contending with the Gods or resetting by destroying the wheel. But as animancy grows closer to the original power of the Engwithans they should be able to also pursue that which turned them into Gods in the first place. Creating a God would require an immense amount of souls, but it is not impossible. Although I agree that this would play perhaps too much towards the BG series, I don't see it not working in this game series. On the other hand your soul might become more of a herald soul much like Thaos was, constantly reviving and continuing on to assist Eora in place of the Gods themselves. This last part allows more opportunity for the game series to continue on its own. Becoming a God would actually allow for a reset in main PC and go to a future where you are a new watcher or something similar and have to deal with the old Watcher-turned-god. Both interesting I say.
  4. Please, please don't take it the wrong way: I'm really the last person to make fun of such things, and I don't want to be mean or dismiss your points, but think you need to seek help. This part is genuinely worrying. Internet assumptions and advice. Classic.
  5. Hm, I had 2 CTDs. Both of them involved a path that ended the story quickly. First one was saying no to Berath at the start of the game and dying. Second one was pissing off another god and letting him kill me. I forget who or how. Seeing as it had something to do with my demise I accepted the crashes as fluff. :D Other than that the game is far to easy and the open world component takes away from experiencing the game at a proper pace. This last part can't be patched and is in part by choice of the player, but the first one should be addressed I think. In POEI people in my party died many many times. In POEII I think I may have had two or three people unconscious the entire game. Haven't experienced any bugs, but that's probably because I didn't really check the battle log as often. I did notice that sometimes stat stacking worked and other times it didn't.
  6. Cannons don't miss when you hold position after turning. go from 55% chance to hit to 100%. The game doesn't explain this.
  7. You can go Monk if you really want the old charge. The old charge was far more busted than the new one. Contrary to the description the charge from POEI did crush damage to all in its path AND a full attack on the target. Bascially dealing 200-300 damage on your target late game.
  8. I think Pillars of Eternity II is to Pillars of Eternity I what Baldurs Gate II is to Baldurs Gate I. Sure the mechanics are slightly different and the orginal HP/Endurance system together with stat stacking of food and such is either gone or reduced. I feel it is improved vastly. This way it allows for actually improving failed classes like rogues. Actual multiclassing, forcing you to choose instead of simply buffing an original class. I actually do feel that POEII went more towards D&D style than it had before. And I do like it, even though it "steals" certain aspects from the class system.
  9. @Phyriel. Wow, you intend to counter my topic by saying: "that's just your opinion" and then dodging my question to improve the topic. But perhaps you can point me to the suggestion subforum because I can't seem to find one in the Deadfire forums. @Wormerine, No I played with a full complement of party members. I was level 20 before visiting Hasongo and still had sidequests left to complete.
  10. You're confused by the title or the fact that I addressed more than 1 point in the topic itself? Also I don't blame anyone. I'm offering critique.
  11. Got your attention? So I'm a guy who tries to do as much of any sidequests as possible before advancing with the main plot. POE II has a new setup which I was not aware of. About 99% of the quests can be done before being halfway through the story. This way I ended up being level 20 well well before going to Hasongo. If I may make a suggestion to Obsidian. Please stop copying games like Fallout and Skyrim in an open world endeavour. Just open up side quests as you advance through the main story. A massive amount of side quests you can do from the get go takes away from any ugency from the main plot and takes away any means to scale with you and forces a scaling system to be in place in the first place. Please learn this lesson developers: a level scaling system is only used to counter a poor levelling system. Something that is always present in open world environment to keep things challenging. A levelling system where your character becomes multiple times as strong than they started out makes this necessary. Again a scaling system counters a poor levelling system. Either build a game world that makes this unnecessary or make a levelling system that makes scaling unnecessary. This is all very easy to do. Thing is, people want to be stronger when they improve their skills/level, not have enemies simply make them feel weak by levelling up with them. Challenging combat can be implemented in other ways than simply increasing stats. Also level scaling didn't actually work at all. I played on hard difficulty with the scaling set to follow the critical path. The final boss and encounter in Ukaizo had enemies with 40-ish deflection and defenses. All my chars had over 100 accuracy, defenses without any buffs. The final boss wasn't even able to take Aloth with no protection spells whatsoever below 50% health. I found the Vampire boss battle in the south east of the map far more challenging than anything I fought on the critical path. Also, Minoletta's Missile Salvo is far to overpowered. This ability... Lol. Loved the game though.
  12. Just reloaded a save and now the guards did not go hostile. Weird.
  13. So When I talk to this guy and he goes hostile every guard in Neketaka goes hostile as well forcing me to kill everyone and lose an insurmountable amount of reputation points. Is this supossed to happen?
  14. Well, i'm sure that Durance doesn't like you either. Durance doesn't like anybody. He doesn't even like himself.
  15. Cheesing is when you abuse game mechanics to your advantage. If you pull away an enemy from a group it is definitely cheesing.
  16. I absolutely despise Durance. He's an ignorant and idiotic ass. If it weren't for his crappy bonus I'd sacrifice him to the effigy each and every time.
  17. The item order is either random, or changed from what they had listed before. None of the items are in the order they have on the wiki. And the fact that I managed to get an item three times in a row three days in a row speaks for itself. Getting an item 3 days in a row is very common if you check the tables. It's very possible they changed the tables, however I doubt the items are random... I told you the way to test if the items are random. Now if you choose to believe they're random, that's up to you... I've tested multiple locations and none of them match the item tables on the wiki. So like I said, it's either completely random or they changed the loot tables completely. But I will get back to this thread if I manage to test a single location after a month. Regardless, the wiki is pretty much useless atm.

  19. Here's a vid that might help: The figurine can be bought from Black Hammer Smithy in Gilded Vale.
  20. So on the wiki there is a page: https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Random_loot Which states that the loot uses a table which can be exploited. What I've found so far is the following: loot generation is completely random and not tied to days or whatever. I found rings of deflection in a container on this list 3 days in a row. Even items that aren't listed are generated and the loot generation never ever ever follows the list at all. The order is random. The wiki states that your character name defines the starting day. This may have been true for the first release of this game, but I experienced only completely random loot generation. Anyone?
  21. Yeah I'm not bringing a Priest or Druid in this party, because they are broken. I've cleared this area at level 9 before, but with a completely different party.
  22. But Devil of Caroc is not in Longwatch Falls. I just realized that. Don't know why I thought that. Lol.
  23. That's based on RNG and you'd have to know in advance where these types of gloves spawn and abuse the system to spawn them by resting until they pop up. In any "normal" playthrough the chances of getting these gloves is very low. In all my playthrough's I've found them twice.
