  1. Well yeah when you get to level 8 or higher, but the early levels are going to be really annoying. Plus a dragon can still one-shot you if you're below 200 HP.
  2. Why would you want a spirit shift druid with no endurance? He gets cc-ed, he's dead.
  3. Damage fell off for me. Early game he was popping enemies left and right, but when all you can do is cast a spell every few seconds into the battle I want them to actually do something impactful. And the damage just fell off of the earlier spells just letting him sit there to wait for another rotation while everyone else already downed one or more enemies. And when I go for a two man front line followed by Cipher, Chanter, Priest and Druid there's no room for a Wizard. Yeah I can see the wizard doing solo, but his self buffs are pointless in a team composition where is role is to hurt the enemy. I just found that whatever he does another class excells are more. CC? Cipher. AoE damage? Druid. Self buffs? I don't need those.
  4. I guess it would work that way yea. To be honest I stopped using the Wizard after a few levels into the game on my first PT, because I found him so underwhelming.
  5. Wel it's not completely wrong. At level 10 that's what stats it has. It's just two levels higher now.
  6. I this spell actually good though? I've never used it, but spells that read "puny damage over time" sound to me like "all damage resisted from this spell".
  7. That's definitely not right. I get overall 60 fps with vsync. My rig is a year old now: Windows 10 64 bits Intel Core I7 5930K 32GB ram GTX 980 I think there's low FPS fixes on the forum. It has nothing to do with your system I'm sure.
  8. Yeah, but not enough to make it matter for late game when you're scrounging for points to get Mechanics to levels 12 and 13. It's fine for early game when you only need 5, plus you could rest in The Black Hound for a bonus I think. I don't really want to waste mechanics points on a priest if I know I can never get him to late game on them anyways. Sure you could retrain them, but that's kinda cheesy to do only for this.
  9. If you're not going for achievements I'd suggest just consoling in any loot you particularly want. The end result is the same as exploiting the non-random nature of loot but it's a lot less tiresome. I don't really want to cheat my way through a game though. Although if you can do it through in game means and adding it through console commands is just "faster" I guess it is ok. Still dumb. Oh man. The only issue I have is that early game there is no good "rogue" type character with enough mechanics skill to get you through the beginning. And Grieving Mother doesn't have a background that adds mechanics so she lags behind late game. I quit putting points into her stealth just to be able to get through the game and find everything I need and open any chest/trap.
  10. Wah, knowing this it's going to be harder not to look up stuff. I hate it when things are random. I hate it even more when things can be exploited. *sigh*
  11. But wait man. You KNEW this when you bought it. Why complain about it now?
  12. I see... Dammit, what exactly did I do? Look and find out? https://www.dropbox.com/s/ik2rdyvk5q48hrw/LootsDays.xlsx Hah, so it's not random at all.
  13. Perhaps the introduction of the story could have been handled better. But the original Baldurs Gate also didn't tell you what was going on until about halfway into the game. The opneingis stronger though. In BG some dude pops up and murders the person who took care of you all your life right in front of you and leaves you with an ominous message. Sure as hell you want to go after this guy right? I guess the incentive in PoE is kind of missing. I mean you survive a soul storm or whatever and then go hunting for whatever caused it, but in all honesty you could have just gone home and that'd be done. It's kind of the same in Skyrim. Epic opening and escape, but after you get to Riverwood there is actually absolutely no reason for you to go further. Other than that though I think it is presented fine. And once you get a few pieces of the puzzle in Defiance Bay it gets more interesting.
  14. I see. You're more into modern games that show you what the story and world is about rather than telling you. This game is based on the original Baldurs Gate series and presents the story in a similar fashion. Granted Baldur's Gate and also Torment had more of a focus on you as a character while exploring the story. I think this style of game is just not for you. Immersion is experienced different for everyone. I find games like these incredibly immersive. Not because of the character you picked, but because of the world, the companions and the story.
  15. Ah yea, pick fighter, configure him as a DPS fighter, wait till you get Charge and then see how your character destroys the enemy before anyone can even cast a spell. doesn't need buffs, debuffs, spells. Just wrecks faces by himself. It's like: "Oh noes a fight with Pŵgras, Mênpŵgras, Delemgans, Vithracks or Druids! I better prepare for this hard fight!! Oh wait they're already all dead."
  16. Does EK work with 3.03? Because it seems the console reverts any attribute chances I make when I reload. If EK works without a hitch, I'll just use that, thanks. EDIT: Evidently, you cannot change companion attributes in EK either? The mouse pointer changes to a road block sign when hovering over companion attributes. Ah! Yea there's a bug in Keeper that saves nothing if a specific thing isn't changed. There's a workaround for that. Just put a space after a characters name and remove that space. The Save game option should be highlighted then. It probably wasn't before. I've had this happen before and now every time I want to change something I just change and undo a characters name to ensure that the saves are made. Also you need to completely quit the game in order to see the edited game. Humm, I just edited the stats of one of the companions. Can't change them through the keepers main screen (blocked), but can edit the raw value. After editing the raw value the main screen is updated with the new value. Saved the game. Loaded the edited game and nothing has changed. That sucks.

  18. The necklace is not guaranteed it's random loot. Yeah I'm sad about that too. Reloaded the area countless times, but I think it's stuck on either game creation or first visit to the area. Not sure. The Necklace is probably the best find out of all the options that you can get there.
  19. You can reroll all the companions levels save for level 1 and their stat distribution. And their stat distribution is fine for PotD as well. Sure if you roll a character yourself you will put in stat points more optimally, but in all honesty having 2 points moved from one stat to the other is not going to win or lose you the fight. There's so many ways to buff your characters with items, food, potions and spells that their base stats mean less and less the further you get into the game. I think it's fine if the predefined compantions have their stats locked in. I mean they're part of the story and have their own background. It'd make sense for them to have a certain stat distribution. If you want more control over them just turn off the auto level for companions in the menu. That way you at least have control over anything past level 1. Also note that Eternity Keeper allows you to fully respec your characters. Including stats and talents from level 1. Also note that the more characters and saves you have the slower it is in loading up, because somehow the designer thought it was a good idea to load all save games at once.
  20. How are Monks less active than Fighters or Barbarians? In my experience they use roughly the same number of abilities in shorter fights, but a lot more in long fighters. I'd actually put them at the top of non-caster classes for the number of abilities you're using. Yeah they get their abilities during the fight. That's not very active for me, it's actually reactive. My first character was a DPS monk and even though I enjoyed playing it I always felt like I was just waiting to get hit in order to impact the fight. With a fighter for instance you can impact the fight right off the bat. Barbarians have this AoE attack that can prone/stun an entire wave of enemies with the right weapon. I guess a monk is more active the longer the fight lasts, but I like my fights to be short, explosive and with me controlling the fight from the get-go. That's why I feel monks don't fit my playstyle even though they get a stun as a normal per encounter ability.
  21. A priest is good if, like me, you're all about offensive focus. With Painful Interdiction you can set up your party to deal a world of hurt before the enemy can get to you. I rarely buff my party defensively as it is, because frankly with the right setup and offensive targeting you're never going to need to unless the fight is really tough. And dazing + weakening the entire screen full of enemies is not something your chanter can do. This sets up your other spellcasters for easier hits and crits on their control spells. Especially with Dire Blessing coming as a third level spell and a spell mastery late game. For me, if you have to rely on defensive spells you're doing it wrong But that's just how I roll.
  22. If you quit the game completely and load a save prior to the bug it doesn't affect changing party members that do not have this bug.
