  1. So, just opened my newssites, and read ****'s hitting the fan in East-Ukrain. 2 people dead already. I guess all bets are off how the response will be to this 'anti-terror' operation from Kiev...
  2. The sad thing from hanging around the Original Sin forums are the many people asking questmarkers, options to saveguard them when they skip all conversations, and general handholding and reducing of diffculty (FYI; The game is easy at the moment). I hope they wont give in... and I fear for the time PoE draws near and maybe goes early access and the same stuff happens here. I'm sure the local residents here will tell them whatsfor XD. It's still so sad to see people asking for such stuff while this is a major step back (read: up). And aside from that, I just bought Goodbye Deponia in the current Steam Sale, so I'm playing that too.
  3. Hey, AGX-17 is totally right... Obsidian should make a Call of Duty clone... after all, we only need products for the great mainstream right. There's no other way to make profit? There are no successfull indies, Minecraft is a lie... Space people didn't cough up $35 million for a new game... all a lie. What I still don't understand though, and please do explain me, is why so many iso-RPG's are funded lately (original sin, torment, pillars of eternity and wastelands 2) and how they *each* got around 3 million.
  4. Nah, one needs disarm traps, the other needs silence mage . Always more options. That's the variety part btw. And it's good to see sarcasm still fails to register... :/
  5. Variety has never done a game good. The best are alway doing the same from start to end. TETRIS/PONG/PACMAN Forevah!
  6. Ehm, yeah, no thanks...
  7. Because... it's 10 days more than the current release date?
  8. It's not unlikely for it to be delayed to 2015 though. We all know all games get delayed. That's why pretty much everyone doesn't make their own engine but uses a pre-made one. Unreal Engine 3 is most popular. There are really only a few developers who do make their own engine, precisely for the reasons stated. But since both UNITY and INFINITY were already pre-made, what's your point (expect of course INFINITY was more aimed for RPG's already than UNITY's standardpackage, so they probably need to make more adjustments that were already pre-made for their IE-games).
  9. And then they sold out to Facebook. Considering I consider The Witcher II a major dissapointment, and they want to add "open world bigger than Skyrim" to The Witcher III, I don't see it becoming the "next big game" anytime soon. More setting up for the biggest flop. Hope they prove otherwise, of course. Got pretty high hopes for Watch Dogs. Much better use of open-world than a story-based RPG. EDIT: It's the only game where the open-world got me looking forward to it rather than sighing and going "I hope this is good despite the open-world"...
  10. Also, what AGX-17 says it just simply true for it. Another game stamped 'classic' by the gamingpress that is as horrible as games come. Sad, sad day. The story should be it's saving point, but the general RPG story are much better, so it couldn't convince me in that part either. Add "magical hobo" and other extreme silly and jarring plot-forwarding mechanics and it's pretty much summed up. Anyway, still doing Original Sin, clocking around 55 hours (for a gamepart the devs claim takes 20 hours). Sure, that includes some idling, several reloadings to test stuff differently or re-produce stuff, and alt+tabbing out of the game constantly to make a buglist on the background, but damn... I love that number. Proves well for how long it should occupy me once done. And makes me wonder how long I can take with Pillars of Eternity being the ultimate slowpoke XD
  11. And thank god for that... It's much more interesting to read about game development behind the scenes then, say, the PR marketing of The Witcher III and DA:I, where everything is just "woooaaa" pictures, and I can't care less about what they report at all. Another screen... whatever. Call me when you actually talk about the game, and make me want to buy it rather than turn me off from buying it (Witcher III I look at you!)
  12. Wow, conspiracy theories around 9/11. We've fallen far. And I see US people are still sad and jealous Russia can take some terrain over without huge bloodshed and everyone hating them there. So nothing changed really? If you have a hostile nation besides you of course you prepare defense. I don't see any reason to assume Russia will go over to attack. Only in the Kiev government make a complete and total mess of the East that has a chance. Of coures, seeing that government it's still a possibility, true.
  13. From what I have been told, you can contact support to 'reset your credit'... so you can do it all over again as KS-backer, even if you already pledged. Before they change it to allow upgrades natively that is.
  14. Ehm, you already can? I didn't do it, but the option was there... it was also pretty expensive, 30 dollar or so?
  15. I think what comes to mind now is KOTOR2, who told Revans story much better than his own game KOTOR1. And that... is not a bad thing.
  16. And it's the best of the Mass Effect games! AP still is better... and I think *most* people who actually play it agree. It seems just people who read about it hate it, and 95% who actually plays it ends up loving it. The power of insanely bad gamepress
  17. Well, the current government did overthrouw the pro-Russian government. They simply do the same thing the EU and US do to Russia, 'sanctions'... you seriously think Moscow would reward the people who overthrew the pro-Russia government and instigated a pro-EU government? That's pretty naieve. Pretty much went the way I expect, Russia will no longer support Ukrain, and they will suffer for it. But you can't really blame Russia since the government that they dealt with was overthrown by pro-EU people, and they just have to see for themselves the EU can't offer them nearly the same Russia did. Really seems like standard politics to me. They can complain about Russia, but the wind *will* turn if the pro-EU party makes life miserable, and if Russia then offers a helping hand, rather than doing so now, which will only show Moscow weak, and the Kiev rioteers victorious... You can't really complain much about the hand feeding you stop doing that after you bite it hard.
  18. The difference would be instead of a fearsome foe that crushes you under his feet, you get another Nihilus. Massive upbeat about his power, looking forward to. Hits weaker than a bunny, and dies equally fast. If he murdered Visas and Mandalore right on the spot, it would have been a much grander display of power. (still a suckerpunch of low difficulty, but, well...)
  19. True, most people who buy early access don't assist. Actually, most complain about bugs, crashes, uncompleteness and require the developer to handcraft THEM a fix, they're more important than anybody else. I'm pretty sure that's not the idea of early access or kickstarter based games, but there you have it :/
  20. Nothing like some creepy fog on a graveyard...
  21. I'm surprised anyone thinks the Western world isn't exactly the same. EU and US are just as corrupt and powerhungtu as Russia, if not potential more so. If you tell yourself otherwise you're only fooling yourself. They only also only care about "law", "democracy" or "power of the people" if it's in their own best interest. If not, well, things WILL be invented to make it go their way, threats, 'repercusions'... Yeah, so civilised. (EDIT: Was a response to Meshugger)
  22. I'm pretty sure motion capture is expensive, not more/harder work than actual animating. But what do I know, right?
  23. Sorry to be so late, but the update wasn't out during this post. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/65969-update-75-bringing-creatures-to-life-animation-on-pillars-of-eternity/ Not so easy, few or fast, is it? Now we just need dev-updates on all my other points! Go OE! XD
  24. True, Oblivion on it's own was bad... but as sequel to Morrowind it was just THAT much worse. Same for Dragon Age 2.
