Yes, but what use is a tool that keeps you fixed to X if you can just disable it at will? -

Isn't that what expert IS for? Just like Ironmode, it's a tool to help you prevent breaking your own promises. If you can just flip it off with a switch ingame, the tool to achieve this has just become useless. And the entire expert mode can be scrapped in favor of "people just agreeing with themselves" since about every option there is is just to enforce that on players. "I want hardcore dead"... "nah, too hard, let's just switch it off for now" Well, there you go, you've just murdered the sole reason why Expert mode exist in the first place. If people trusted themselves to limit themselves, such options wouldn't be needed in the first place. -
Split up in 2 countries, as the people want (last I heard that was called 'democracy') West wont force its points on the east, east wont force its poinsts on the West. But I guess that's too easy, no? EDIT: In their infinite wisdom Kiev put up another ultimatum. Because they haven't been ridiculed enough for the previous ones. Also, with what army? This is just getting pathetic...

I am pretty sure this is a no-issue in PoE, since I don't think there will be attacks of opportunity anymore (will there) Just as it wasn't an issue in Expedition: Conquistator if you choose better AI; it only does this if you lowered it's AI to allow it to do stupid things (part of the easier difficulty settings). Try turning it (Enemy AI) to max next time, and they'll never do that unless they really *really* need to.

And here I was thinking I was the only one dissapointed by it. Playing some Arkham City, leading up for my first game of Arkham Origins. I have played City before so I don't really have to, but I just want to

So, been away a small while, read the news, see an agreement was made... Agreement pretty much consisted of "East Ukrain should listen to Kiev and give up their weapons, and stop protesting at once!" Seriously? You're kidding right. Was that the same agreement given in Syria? "Hey, rebels, just... give up your weapons and let Demascus control you. No hard feelings!" I'm *so* shocked they didn't listen to that (both parties). That's some Grade-A negotiations. Usually that means both parties give something up. Not one party is forced to obey the other party. That's not negotiations, that's just another ultimatum. You know, those things who've been ignored 2 or 3 times already? It seems to be another day to facepalm hard the stupidity of international relations from all sides.

Not just with those, many long-loved and much asked for titles (including my own 'I wanna' No One Lives Forever) have been waited for a long time... :/ That it's often unknown who even owns rights these days doesn't make it easier.

Update #76: Music in Pillars of Eternity
Hassat Hunter replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
Might aswell add in some links, Dungeon Siege music. As I said before, many people may dislike the game, but it had some pretty impressive mood-setting music. Besieged town #1 (stonebridge); Ice-city of Glacern; Final bossfight (not the usual tradional type of music used for them, but oh so much the better for it) http://youtu.be/ZW5DmpV_NqI?t=1m52s And of course... one of the best main themes ever; EDIT: Might as well add some Divinity II;- 221 replies

It's more "not knowing when you're going to level up" so it's more a surprise, and less something you anticipate and work for (oh, only 300xp, better do one quick exploration before this mission)... So yes, I am *still* off the opinion this could add a lot for roleplayers and others who like that play, and would thus be a good idea for an option... -
SW: The Old Republic - Episode VI (The Old Menace)
Hassat Hunter replied to Gorth's topic in Computer and Console
You mean the guy you were tasked to kill on Tatooine, who was really made up to be super-loathed, and then suddenly was FORCED to join your party in what must be the worst writing in any RPG to date (of which there are a lot of examples, so it was a very big feat). I hope the means you're joking...- 505 replies

So, the Ukrain military defects at a surprising speed, several soldier stating 'they don't want to shoot at their fellow Ukrainians" Which would be odd if all the protesters where just evil Russians, wouldn't it be? Also, I wouldn't exactly call good and bad here. Just evil and lesser evil. I don't exactly share the belief the EU are 'the saviors of Ukraine' rather than they just made the ****storm bigger, and are just too dumb to realise that. @ Mor; Nah, I just wanted an honest answer why the world shuts up about tanks and heli's being used while it was disgraced by police performances in Kiev. Maybe they should just let them go, right... after all, that worked so great in London, nothing got burned down, looted or stuff there? What I expect? Try to initiate a talk? Instead of going full rambo? After all, they are the protesters so appaled by the violence used against them in Kiev. It's just surprises me it takes them so quick to forget and dish out such retribution. Completely forgetting it seems why they wanted the leading president in Kiev gone in the first place.

MOR, atleast do it proper dammit; *goes off actually reading the posts on this page*

Update #76: Music in Pillars of Eternity
Hassat Hunter replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
Does sound better... the 3rd track is similarly unimpressive though, the first 2 do a much better job. I don't think I would call most of the Baldur's Gate music 'epic', especially the outdoor tracks. Still they were memorable and added warmth to the scene, a scence of exploring. The inn-tracks same way, hardly epic in any regard, but definitely memerable and adding a feeling of being in a browsing tavern. The most "Epic" piece should always be reserved for the main menu Also, I honestly believe if "bland and forgetful" and intentional emotions of the soundtrack, that person would need to be fired, right now, for such stupid bs. "How should I write this story/quest?" "We want for... bland and forgetful... go!" "Art team; How should the feel of this area be?" "Design team: Bland and forgetful, please." It should never EVER be a goal, whatever emotion you want to evoke.- 221 replies

Well, 1 city vs. various towns make somewhat a difference. What do you think is easier to take by force? Some local sheriff station or the White House? And there were plenty of armed 'protestors' in Kiev. Armories got looted and distributed, giving them even a bigger arsenal. All Russian weapons btw, since that's the ordenance of the Ukrainian army/police force.

And despite all that... combat in Dragon Age still sucked balls, and they had to resort to ridicilous combat-bloat, and you had to use your melee powers constantly to make somewhat of a dent. Maybe it's just me, but I like to think. If it's just MMO "work off your skills like this" and you repeat that infinitively, I might aswell take click once and attack forever, so I can focus on actually using skills (spells) where I need to think about when or how to use them. Food for thought.

Update #76: Music in Pillars of Eternity
Hassat Hunter replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
While I can't say I understood much of the actual update, I can of course respond to the music part... I actually listen to various IE-musics people linked to, Dungeon Siege music (for all you can say about the game, one has to admit great music), Larian OST's... yeah, western RPG's don't have it bad in regards to music. Though I have to admit with others that this music lacks some of the soul IE-music and above mentioned music has, a bit too generic. Probably a bit too much leaning on Lord of the Rings. It's pleasant for on the background, but according to my ears, it very easily gets ignored or taken for granted, besides for one point (which I will talk about later). I listened while reading here (probably what one would do ingame), and I had to relisten to it without that just cause it didn't record at all. Didn't really notice till quite some time later it was over. As said; it just completely washes out. Soothing, but I don't think it's really the intention after all. The mentioned games all have dramatic 'sad' music, but it still sounds more 'present' than this, and thus is all the stronger for the player. And as luck would have it, one of those is actually now in my playtrack (Dungeon Siege - "s_mu_besiegedtown_04"). Sorry I can't be more technical than this, really just acting here on feelings rather than hard data. Final note, the jarring part I mentioned about earlier; 1:45-2:10 Cut it out. The sudden trumpet(?) sounds completely out of place and is very jarring. Immediately after it gets a little more upbeat too, but these increases actually are soothing and sound natural than the sudden part that was those 25 seconds. Good luck with making the music for this game, and I hope the feedback atleast was somewhat useful, and we can look forward to another great RPG soundtrack .- 221 replies

That indeed, is a difficult question. However, if there was any attempt made by Kiev at all to talk with the demonstrators in the East, I must have missed it. They skipped the talks, and went straight to dismissing them all as terrorists and russian instigators, and responded with threats and military action. For a government that came to power with protest, that strikes me as very odd. You would think the protesters themselves would be sympathetic to other people doing the same as them. But apparently the instant they took power all protest is disbanded and fired upon. That doesn't strike *you* as odd? All the infighting in the government and many pictures coming out of them actually hand to hand fighting with each other isn't really something that would make a population less worried about it's command either. And the current government is acting swell, doesn't it? Euromaiden was given months, they get power, they violently put down all resistance and protest within a week or 2? Sounds to me the cure ended up worse than the disease, as much as you can hide between 'it's all Russians' you want. After all I can easily say the same, Euromaiden was caused by Pro-EU agitators... and I would be right to boot. Agreed. Yet, it's very troubling to me the current government goes quite beyond that with such ease, and the entire world is silent. Russia is worried about the situation, tries to appoint that in the UN, and the Western World just hones it away. "It's all Russia's fault... Russia should move away. Russia, open your borders for Ukraine tanks!" and they try to open dialogue, and well, that's the response. Like they HONESTLY think Russia is just going to keep borders unprotected with an unguided missile next to it. I know they're political hounddogs, so they probably just want it to be ****, but my fear is some are actually tht naieve to think like that honestly. And instead of thinking rational (duh, that they place troops there) they go in Cold War "Russia is evil. They must do it cause evil!" ideology. And it's helping no-one. And that's the saddest part. That's the current government.

Same answer I gave to a guy who complained in Divinity: Original Sin crates got randomly generated so 'obviously' everyone will save and reload for better lootz, and he wanted it fixed in the final version by making some fixed drop by using a seed; "Why? What's the problem. If they want to let them. I personally not going to bore myself with it, but more power to them. What's the problem. Why does it *need* to be changed?"

Sure, in singleplayer games it would suck to play supportive... but this is a team-based game, so why not? Bao-Dur is a crafter. Can he be a more awesome fighter? Sure. But I always keep Jedifying him off long as possible since he's more useful as support. Is that a problem? According to this thread; apparently. -
They did in Kiev.
