6.5 here in Twin Elms... of course my savegames suffer from bloat of heavy summoning and improper cleaning of said summons EDIT: Also, for people wanting Baldur's Gate II loading times... you got it. And in 10 years you can laugh too as they pass in a nano-second. They sure as hell didn't do so in 2000.

Item disappeared from stash?
Hassat Hunter replied to Eulogy's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
They are. And yes, those 3 seals are quest items that appear there. (wish granted?) -
Another small list for now... the end is drawing near! No, PoE, don't end Updates: * Ignore the Definance Bay lines like 'check this out', seems it does re-open so it makes sense. Still probably would be nice RP if during the rioteering it's the talk of the town and all the other stuff would return later... * ACT III, went from talking to Korgrak at Stronghold to his lair, and he's still there(!) * Well, seems there *is* a lioness model. So why are all the lionesses lions??? Bugs: * Tcharek offers you a resting place if you talk to him again after completing his quest. However; this is not an option. * Endless Path lvl 13: Doors "I am an enemy to Ord Nua." has a blank line after it. * If you release Ord Nua and then reload a savegame, he's graphically stuck in the Adra again. * "The Dissapointer" doesn't have the magical blue background, which is because according to the game it seemingly has 0 enchantments. * Starting to become common; all friendly animals apparently not minding the PC's presence in Elmshore. Also odd to find actual friendly boars seeing how they're hostile at every other location they appear. * Kana healed me with Field Triage while I had the Sanguine Plate (Retaliation on Melee Attack) and got retalitory damage. This obviously shouldn't happen since 1) not an attack 2) not melee but spell. * Drinking Horn of moderation doesn't work if regaining over 50% endurance (or atleast it's icon doesn't appear next to the portrait). * Can't use searhglass icon near mapchange on the Celestial Sapling map. * Psychic protectors; Getting turned down at one area-change in the first Twin Elms map (I'm horrible with names :/) using another will make the guards talk to you like they've seen and warned you before. ** Slightly related unlocking the other maps with the most northwestern exit will yield the text "the guard scowls and looks at his companion" even though that protector is alone. * Klorn Talisen's soulread can use a blank space, wall of text now. * Rêghar Konnek (axe) icon is too big for it's slot. * If you tell Onwen about the birdeating quest Kana will intervene and they will reply to each other. Going down the convoline the second time skips Kana's original line, but Onwen still responds on it. * Killing Simoc Lliras will spawn and give you a nod, even if you never met the man. Also if you try to get out with the baby afterwards, he will ambush you and talk about his father like he didn't knew he was already dead, even with him being there and all. * Archdruid Rehstin: "I am the archrdruid of the Ethik Nôl. [...]" * In the Blood thingie (still bad with names) a floating, invisible unnamed entry is near the Fire Sacrifice Chamber. * Dialogues that don't display the talk balloon; Hiravias after talking to the 2 "tree ladies" and Kana after talking to Od Nua. Suggestions/Quirks: * Make it more clear how long certain boons last. I know the sex-one does 2 rests, and the Stronghold's 3 rests (making it better than I initially thought), it would be nice if hovering over them gave this information. * Why would I hire the Dunryd Psion? High hiring cost, high upkeep, and for it's great prestige (not) it has a -2 penalty. About 5 other hirilings offer just 2 presige with no penalties for the normal sum... so, what?

So, started a bit of Twin Elk, obviously new maps would raise the file-size, now it's 1.2MB bigger, with the Mobile Objects being 1.5MB bigger. Also in that time approxiately 300 extra summons got add to the savegame, taking into account it's usually listed thrice still makes 100 extra entries. Now I still may be way off here, but I'm personally thinking my chanter getting some good summons and me using figures is the cause that saving and loading takes longer for me than before. Just some numbers, anyone feel free to prove me wrong if those chanter summons are in for a good reason... _Summon: 4073 _Summon(clone): 3562 cre_skeleton_chanter_summon: 1481 cre_beetle_wood_summon: 846 CRE_Wurm_Summon: 888

I feel offended do you?
Hassat Hunter replied to a question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Well, if you only had 1 release in those 10 years no wonder you never had that much users finding the big bugs all of you missed. And no, I don't believe the one product that was released had no major bugs either. You even admitted it yourself you had a serious bug, which couldn't even be fixed! And then you expect other programmers to do just do this with the snap of a hand? You know what 10 years of game development gets you? Duke Nukem Forever. It is not normal to have first-day patch Every single game has it in these days. Cause delaying releases cost money and there's no point for the team to fiddle-thumb between gold and release. It is not normal to have tons of obvious bugs detected by users in fisrt 3 days after product release. Except in today's game market... it really is. If people can play at all these first days that is. Remember the many always-online games which just crashed and burned till more than a week? I would say it is unacceptable, especially for bugs in game mechanic, which are essential for such game types. Sadly, money doesn't grow on trees, already delaying it 3 months used up a lot of funds, and the perfect QA is only attainable if you got excess money like Blizzard. Other developers don't have the luxury of having excessive exceeding funds to survive long delays just for polishing. That's simply reality. Call reality unacceptable doesn't change the laws of commerce and capitalism. We complain about broken abilities which could be detected by QA team before release, we complain about broken combat math which could be perfectly self-tested by set of good unit-tests or via other techniques. So we complain agains the things which never should occur for released product. If I've got a dollar for each time people mentioned something would be "obvious during QA" during their complaint I would be a rich man. If I only got the dollar if they spoke the thruth, I would be a very poor man. There's a funny thing called "strange things can happen"... fix problem A, and suddenly new B, C and D appear. Connection? There doesn't appear to be any, but it's happening none-the-less. Even if one were to test all fixes, something entirely unrelated seemingly can just butcher itself. Having modded the Oddessey engine game The Sith Lords only made that so much more apparent. Not always could the "WHY?" be answered. It's simply impossible to do this with a controlled team and catch absolutely everything a million+ crowd could experience. If you think otherwise, I doubt you're a professional programmer. -

So you've never programmed stuff with major bugs in it in 10 years? I sorely doubt that. -
"Stacking" debuffs is broken
Hassat Hunter replied to dirigible's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I've specifically tried to replicate this, doing a prone while a prone is still active. Works fine, prone1 duration wears off, but target is still proned till second duration goes off. Somewhat similar with prone + stun, while the target wasn't shown prone anymore (just graphical glitch) the target didn't do stuff till it was supposed to do. What do you use to petrify a target?- 6 replies

I don't really know what you're doing, but keep up the good work. I've opened the save with WinRar but trying to read the files themselves (with Notepad++) is impossible, something you guys use to make it readable or simply checking for the annoted times things are mentioned? My biggest file is MobileObjects (obviously) followed by the Copperlane area of Defiance Bay. While the store vendor list was long, it only seemed to account to about 0.06MB filesize (as per manually removing them and comparing changes, yeah, blunt method but all I have now). My own MobileObjects by doing simply wordcount checks (again, so barbaric) gives less Xaurip items than reported, but more SecondChance items. A search for _summon wields 3772 hits, bit much if you ask me... Also seems still some Rime_and_Frost_Trap(Clone)'s linger around in the file. Though I really have no idea what I'm doing so I might be wrong on all accounts XD EDIT: Funnily enough in regards to eRe4s3r a search for "Wall_of" resulted 7 hits, most of them proper items or spells, with only one exception: Wall_of_Flame(Clone)AR_0604_Stronghold_Great_Hall Seems it might be an issue with clones not properly getting unloaded? Out of the 3772 _summon _summon(clone) is the case 3310 times. Or maybe I see things that aren't there... For completeness references; soonish in act III, MobileObjects file is 8.6MB

Didn't you get they tried to recreate the IE-experience? Horrible pathing obviously needs to be part of that or it would be consolodised for the weak players. (But yeah, I kind agree 4 melees can be difficult if the 4th just stands behind the first 3 instead of walking around them. Though it's not quite as bad as you make it out. Also; death to Dragon Age auto-play AI.)

AFAIK they're still working on the big balance patch. -
Seriously, what's up with all the munchkinners in this game. "I want to design my NPC from the ground up" > adventurers people. If you really want this. "I build myself around certain items, if they don't appear I cheat them in. All items should drop!" > No, they should not. Instead of building your character around items (an extremely foolish thing for any CRPG to actually work towards) roll with the punches. When did people, roleplayers, forgot part of the challenge is rolling with the punches? Make the best of what comes you way. Rather than if something doesn't comes your way you read in a guide, you cheat it in, blame the devs and then expect them to "fix" it (there's nothing broken) just cause it's seamingly hard to grasp that they never intended you to have a super-munchkin play with super l33t team with all the best items you know you can find where... People, I tell you...

I guess I just want more of the same, though a monk companion and stronghold expansion (but not the mq) are good. Stronghold needs some loving. Love big cities but somehow not that sure it works fine for an expansion than more explorable areas with some smaller villages and camps. Oh, and what I would like for them to do some minor touchups to the old areas with the x-pack aswell. So it's not just all 'new stuff' if doing the x-pack maps but can replay the whole game again and get some surprises. I suppose stronghold expansions would already count for this, but something more would be nice

Mhuhahahaha... There were plenty of them, along with zillions of common bugs. But since it's not Obsidian no one ever bothers to get angry about them (for whatever reason). (And yes, this is coming from someone who really liked D:OS too) I haven't really taken track of how well they squashed them, waiting on the big rebalance patch myself for second run. -

Or just to learn with the difficulty with no, you cannot build your character specifically with itemry in mind (as many BG2 guides do), roll with the punches. Adding difficulty, variety and personal challenge that's cheapened if they just made it available none-the-less... :/ -

IWD2 had a story? And here I thought it was "Journey with the dead cat... also most annoying forest ever". *shrug* And that's all I really recall from IWD2. IWD1? Even less. I do remember lots of stuff's from the PS:T, BG1 or BG2. Actually, that's not entirely true, I still remember some of the backstories I wrote for my IWD(2) party members. More than the actual ingame story... huh... -

Does anyone else think this is absolutely awesome? Instead of rushing to all the items you know after 1 playthrough (BG2 anyone?) here you still can be surprised, find new stuff and suddenly need to change your tactics if the good item you're wishing for isn't there. It's absolutely great!
