  1. Can you link the Angry Joe review; I'm curious what exactly you mean...
  2. Recall getting one in an Inn... but it's taking a LOT of time, and this was the last side-quest I completed just by account of not being able to move it forward until a random point the dream appeared :/
  3. "Don't do it" doesn't make a broken mechanic less broken. Also funny that BG2 is given this leniency, but you immediately come down with force if there's a system in PoE which is less broken than that is in PoE. Double standards? I'm not surprised. It has it's share of flaws. And Obsidian tried to fix several of those. Sadly, the trap/lock XP was 2 steps back again. Sure, people who see faults in broken issues are kids, personal insults *really* help your argument... :eyeroll: But it's easy to see why it's perfect if all imperfections are waved with the mantle of love "sure it's broken, but you can simply not exploit those dozens of loopholes..." That makes it rather easy to make a system 'Perfect' (just a question do you work for a banana republic government?) BioWare themselves had to ragtag stuff like Quest Awards for all people rather than regular XP bonusses to compete with the mess they made of stuff in BG2. And funnilly enough with ToB I could kill Irenicus with 5 levels of my extremely overpowered ToB abilities. Yeah... leveling... it ain't done well in the BW games. Pretty much all of them. Most use of the key-required doors were in Defiance Bay, and from the top of my head those were 3. Then 1 more in Twin Elms. But feel free to point out all the others I seem to have missed. One saves you time, and the other makes you more powerful. Yeah, I don't see the equal footing there. Atleast you got a sense of humour XD
  4. Yeah, I know, but having those issues reported even if they've been in from the start only be listed in their internal tracker from a post here I'm not so certain anymore...
  5. I think he went a bit overboard trying to make Obsidian fit HIS vision and HIS vision alone (think engagement). It's Obsidian's game afterall, not Sensuki's. And I mourn several things he 'got done' like the removal of limited funds for vendors. Fair to say I probably wouldn't have backed a Sensuki RPG as it wouldn't be for me. Fortunately, we got PoE. Oops... guess you're right Sannom.
  6. So, people wanted numbers, right... I've logged the bounties, didn't do the first batch, but the second, third and fourth revealed: 2- 11250 11034 11034 11250 3- 11250 11250 11250 14130 4- 14130 14130 14130 For a total of 135108 (prob +40k for the first batch) Which accounts to, taking into account a 6 people party, a personal XP per party member of: 22518 (2 levels) (approx 29184 if taking 40k for the first bunch) Which is 2-3 levels... in a 12-level game. Yeah, I think it's overdoing it a bit. Mixing with the XP required numbers doesn't prevent this being out of scale with the XP of most other sidequests in the game... Maybe we need a full list of all XP rewards in the game, beastiary full, quest done etc. Does that exist on the Wiki?
  7. Yeah the great game that gave us... *learn spell* *forget spell* *learn spell* *forget spell* *learn spell* *forget spell* *learn spell* *forget spell* *learn spell* *forget spell* *learn spell* *forget spell* *learn spell* *forget spell* *learn spell* *forget spell* DING... level up! Best... XP. System. Ever. Let's not kid ourselves, BG's leveling system had more holes than cheese. You're simply lying here. As stated, mechanics is already leagues ahead of the others skills without XP (lol). Atlethics only use is less combat-fatigue (though I generally work the 0 athletics to death) making it the second best skill. The rest? *shrug* So yeah, I had to sacrifice SOooooo much just to get mechanics. Seriously...
  8. Why should they? The system's already in as said in the form of Adventurers...
  9. Considering I see 3 issues here "being added to the buglist" that I've reported myself too, taking the shot to post here even if I'm not using the beta patch to give a nice hefty increase to said list, cause I doubt those are the only 3 there not in it . Sorry. Issues being; https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/76948-104-the-champion-of-berath-untriggered-rep-drop/ https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/76978-friendly-buffs-persisting-on-charmed-enemies-after-charm-wears-off/ https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/76950-field-triage-triggers-retaliatory-strike-v1030530/ So hopefully my list can help add many more issues to the tracker http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/72075-hhs-suggestions-and-bugs-list-508-build (let me know if I instead need to post them all here) Keep up the good work, Obs!
  10. So very close to the endgame. Probably second-to-last bug report. Or last if I can't find anything else after the spoilery event... So sad to already be there though :/ But it where a great 84 hours, and more to still have! Update: * Construction 19h left, travel from Raedric Hold to Caed Nua (1 day, 4 hours) upon arrival 6 hours are still left. * Pet got "Injured" during Archdruid Rehstin fight, still no clue why, couldn't find it in log :/ Bugs: * Infinite XP exploit in Teir Evron (300xp per area load-in. Locations are also discovered upon loading a savegame, but grants 0XP in that case). Also auto-pause on entry without there being opponents. * Soldier upon leaving Teir Evron; "Did you think you wouldn't be recognized here," line is shorter than the dialogue line written onscreen (no other dialogue line ever does this). * Had Hiravias cast World's Maw, and Grieving Mother Ringleader. Ringleader got cast first and all enemies became friendly, then World's Maw hit and together with the opponents my team was affected and knocked down... * Guard (at stairs) still says 'The cold from Noonfrost is spreading... how long, I wonder?' even after you've closed the portal. * Northweald; All animals ignore the PC and many additional friendly boar. Are the hostile boar earlier in the game the bug??? * Much like others reported, after killing Lord Raedric VII (+extraordiany rep) returning to the floor level gave me a major reputation loss with Gilded Vale. * Crier says Lumdala and cohorst "stand accused" for their crimes. But I've killed them at the confrontation, so that doesn't make much sense. * Typo in Tobi soulread: "telling the elf he needs to rethink he numbers." > the * Typo in Orimanth Hassan mindread: "The first man see what is about to happen and calls out a warning," > sees * Found some Velune, and it's not the same Kana (Eternal Paths) gives the player, which are broken items! * There are 2 Justiciar's spawned into each other infront of their keep during ACT III * You can talk with the Records Keeper over and over about Edér. It even spawns another standholder. * If the standholder spawns, the bounty enemies do not, had to leave and re-enter to find have them spawn. * True stuff not to be said in Defiance Bay in ACT III: "nothing unusual is going on at the sanitarium", "We're very lucky to have Dunryd Row based in Brackenbury" and " The sooner Lord Raymont commits his crazy daughter to the sanitorium, the better" * Banter about Serel leaving (to Brackenbury) from the Brothel Patrons spawns a dialogue box rather than floating text. * The Golden Grove can point you towards Erona without having the quest, and thus not spawning at the location being directed to. * Thaos plot and Berath quest completion merge incorrectly in the Biography. * Twin Elms anamenfath and Pellegina's quest resolution entries merge incorrectly in the Biography. * Convincing Delem not to eat the birds removes only the Cloudsinger Songbird from your inventory, the other 2 remain. * Had an issue where some of my summons didn't de-spawn and infact moved along with me, got knocked out instead of dismissed during combat (preventing me from using other figurines, but having a distinct boost at the start). Fixed itself after the next battle, albeit maybe due to summoning another drake. Screenshots below, savegame and output log also listed below: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ln7vheebmwlqgki/Perm%20Summon%20Bug.rar?dl=0 Quirks/Suggestions: * A few KS backers appear as ghost in Defiance Bay, but only in ACT III. Why are they not there from the start? Seems it makes them very likely to be missed by players.
  11. *checks Wikipeida* And it ONLY took them 12 years. See PoE2 in 2027? Anyone obvious troll is obvious. Shows how little you know, TSLRCM was definitely the harder of the 2, yet also the more satisfying. Tell me, honestly, why the heck I should work for free for a bunch of ungrateful idiots? If that apparently lacks character, so be it. I'm not a mule. I bet you feel it's very bad slavery, torture and emotional abuse are outlawed pretty much everywhere. They build such character for people... If only a philosophy magically generated money. Seeing most filosophic people are pretty broke however, I don't think that's how the real world works. Actually, I also recall a certain mod that had that philosophy...
  12. Ah, reminds me of my 2 mod projects. One was a online text RPG where users gave me a lot of flak and complained about every new bit of content I released. The other was TSLRCM, for which there is a lot of praise, I get people thanking me for my devotion and the feedback given may be harsh sometimes but generally always fair. Now guess which of the 2 I abandoned working on...
  13. You must have not played Original Sin at release... EDIT (not in response to Hurlshot): Anyone else getting tired of the forum being flooded by so called "programmers" who know better but then show they have no actual know-how of game development at all. Arm-chair generals, or people just making **** up so they have some authoriaty posture even if a simpleton can poke that full of holes within 1 page, if not the same post?
  14. Good thing on blaming Obsidian on a members post than their own words... way to go, not anything up with that at all. 1M per month is the funds for an avarage AAA+ game. Obviously, with it's 4M budget and development time, this is not the case for PoE. 1M per month may still be true, but not all of that is towards PoE, rather than developing other games along the line. You know, like every dev does. But I'm sure "THEY LIE! RAWR" is much more reasonable than 1M being used per month creating several games along side each other. Right?
  15. I didn't know those 3 could code. Wait, they can't, that's not their area. Also, "4 million1!!!!11one!!!", yeah compared to the avarage 50 or so million of AAA+ games. Get real indeed... (Luj1 is making me miss a "dislike" button )
  16. I think the worst thing of DA:O is the extremely limited opposition, Darkspawn, More Darkspawn, Even More Darkspawn. That's easy to get tired from. PoE already has a lot more variation in that regard, and enemies do work differently than just being "Elite Darkspawn, more HP lol". Which combats combat-fatique more than any XP addition can. Crappy combat with XP is still crap you don't want to do, good combat without XP is still good and you do it for fun. Fun doesn't need a freakin' carrot. @ Stun; Not really. Got about 800XP from Elder Lions in a certain Maw, which accounted to like 2-3 traps... there are 12 traps in that den. This repeats in all dungeons where traps are common, which is based on the fact that mine and lockpick XP itself is a horribly idea. Can't look me in the eye and honestly believe forgo-ing a key since "level 10 lock" lockpicking is better is any kind of gamedesign or roleplaying a developer WANTS to instigate. Sad fact though, it's true for PoE.
  17. Sometimes you just need to keep things gamey rather than senseful for gameplay purposes. As I said, there's no free resting point at the keep at that point, it's a halt in the gameplay, they wanted to introduce the keep mechanics... I don't see it as any problem thusly not costing time while the others do... And you say 'Anything' but when it's pointed out there is something you wave it away. So clearly more needs to be there for you then something... EDIT: Obsidian has the tendency to ingame explain gameplay concepts, such as XP in TSL being due to your Force Leeching, or here in PoE instantly knowing all names from people around you due to being a Watcher. As thus, I could point out before the Awakening all NPC's should be called [unknown person] before interacting with them and learning their names. But that's just overly nitpicking the game too much, and actually doesn't do the game much good in the end even if going so far, so I don't.
  18. She does say they already have the funds and resources for a single upgrade and a single upgrade only; the listed one. Not good enough an explenation? It's not exactly waved away.
  19. Did both fine, both afer 1.0.3 hit. So now we just need to find out *why* they broke for you, since it isn't simply "they are just broken"... In my case a NPC even killed Danna and it updated fine. Did you kill all foes. Did one perhaps got killed by NPC's off-screen (one ran away from me, but I runned after it and killed it, maybe you went upstairs, or didn't follow him, etc.?
  20. Loading time improvements and Durance fixes (that annoying piece of...). What's not to like? I suppose it's lite, but what do you expect, superpatches 1 week after each other? Since I didn't bother checking the 1.0.3 notes too severly, what questionable changes would that be? Do you want to continue the main plot? Sorry, you need to rest 6 times before you can do so. Maybe try running 3 circles around your unlocked maps? (Why would you possible complain about that???) EDIT: @ RevBlue: They mentioned Prone in the list... more than once even. So, what?
  21. I'm not being offensive. Or hostile. I'm just a realist. And stable doesn't mean bugfree. PoE is stable too, it never CTD'ed on me. I know you probably mean a different kind of stable, but there's no bugless piece of softwere. Ever. Even the most tested stuff, like automobiles mentioned elsewhere, can something slip past the net. If you talk to yourself this is not the case, you're just fooling yourself. I'm just saying that there have been many games, less complex than PoE, who released worse. And where given complete slack. Think every single Bethesda game. But no, Obsidian leaves 1 in, and the crusade starts. Why would they even bother making complex games if the players just smack you down for it, I sometimes wonder. But then, game designing is a personal own little hell. Feel free to poke at Microsoft and tell them to only release Windows 10 when absolutely zero pre-release fixes are necessary. They will laugh in your face, since that basically means releasing never at all. But do tell me about any software that never gets updates. My browser? Constant. Flash? Constant. Windows? Constant. And they all could decide to quit any times. Sure would be hell to use a PC if one's thoughts work so. Yeah, I heard "Developer" but 10 year and 1 release doesn't exactly fill me with you having much actual world-experience. Unless you expect QA to work 10 years on a game before release that's been made in 1.5 years... It wouldn't fit under EA since it's not an unfinished game. EA is meant for when more actual FEATURES are to be added later on, not for releasing full games that aren't patched yet. If EA is going to encompass those we might aswell just throw the entire system out of Steam in the first place.
  22. No, I heard you Matt, I just completely disagree with it. Also, I'm slightly interested to hear what people exactly do differently than me. About to hit lvl 12 doing Twin Elms sidequests, but I've only done 3 bounties so far. Finished all Defiance Bay quests, all levels of Ord Nua, picked all locks (including 'theft' ones just for XP without looting content, I do agree with you this is hilariously bad). So I've pretty much done all side-content, I murdered every beast I come across. And still don't have the extreme overload of XP talk about. So what exactly did people do differently? Also I did just killed a certain NPC and his entourage in Twin Elms and got 7866XP for it, which seems a bit excessive, though I guess since it's the endgame it doesn't matter so much at that point it's one of those few points where simply too much XP is given, and fixing that goes a long way without risking breaking's PoE2's XP progression with it.
  23. Nah, they didn't do much, it's just cause it's a 15-year old game. @ Jackjack; Seems the infinite stash (from what I can tell, might be wrong) needs to be transfered along to each individual module, which may account for it being required. More food for it being a bad idea, but it seems it's much too late for that now. Of course if they can find a way to seperate that that would be great for me.
  24. So if 1+1 = 2, the critical path, and side content is +1 = 3... the only way to balance it is rip 3 to 100 instead? Cause logic? No, I don't see much logic in some of these suggestions at all. Yes, exponential increase is an option. If you seriously want to de-value side-content. Which I don't see has any benefit of being added. Some XP values are off, and trap/lockpick XP is still the worst thing ever but saying stuff like "Make it exponential!" is only going to make working out a proper sollution harder, not easier. There's a reason kids first learn tables from 1 to 10 and only up till 10. Going in and saying they should just after learning 2x2 to go to 3x13 is the exact opposite of making things "easier". EDIT: Just to clarify a bit more... if all quests in the game give 1000XP and this other one gives 20000XP you can modify the formula for XP required all you want, but you're actually designing a work-around around the bug rather than fixing the bug, and the problem still remains in the game. So, no, I don't see *this* as fix, I see adding exponential formula's for XP as something designed to work around non-intended design. And changing stuff to accomidate bugs is always worse than fixing the reprecencies. Just my 2 cents... EDIT2: And just to throw about more weird examples (cause I love them so); Your problem is there's a baby in the bathwater. The foreign object takes much space. Instead of dealing with the foreign object however, you decide to just open the valve and let more water in, and then later on act surprised if the water rises over since no, opening the valve does not make the foreign object (or excessive XP/bug/etc.) dissapear. And you've just soaked the room and gotten all complicated while the answer is so simple and probably staring at your with those baby eyes.
