  1. If something hits you with a weapon, you die. Critical hits with fists give Concussion status. Bow attacks always target the knee first.
  2. Buff spells are instant cast and have no delay (I think Merciless Gaze is the only one with cast time). It takes like 2 second tops to buff to the full. You can even use an AI script to automate this proccess.
  3. Really, character design? I'd say that Morrigan and Shale were pretty awesome to be honest.
  4. I'm not convinced they actually do, but certainly that's the conventional wisdom. Dragon Age is a good example. Went from a brilliant cRPG to hot garbage just to cater to console audience. Also even bad games sell like hot potatoes on Switch and no one makes cRPG games on that.
  5. Here's a Crusader version. But IMO this weapon is best on a Rogue multi, to combine Offensive Parry and Riposte.
  6. It's the final boss, and to be honest the only boss in the game who actually has decent mechanics implemented. Of course he will be hard. Also level 16 is too low, get to 20, then try again. There is no fight in this game that cannot be done with AI scripts, assuming both your team and those scripts are optimized. You don't HAVE to micromanage anything if you don't want to (I only micro my main and only because he's a Wizard).
  7. I'm not expecting any decent cRPG. I feel like some kind of console slasher is more likely, because those sell better.
  8. 33% ain't much, Paladins have Lay on Hands which is a much cheaper, spammable heal ;p Not to mention, with Vigorous Defenses and Unbending you are very limited by resources, while Paladins have passive bonus to defenses.
  9. Unbending is not worth its cost after the nerf. #balanceGO
  10. I know, but the problem is, that a Jedi is technically a master of the Lightsaber with some mind powers and telekinesis. That just sounds like Devoted/Cipher no matter how you look at it :< But wait, if I have a weapon that does Raw damage and I use Flames of Devotion, does the damage turn to Fire or stays Raw? EDIT: Instead of a Paladin I suppose it would work best with a class that has a strong non-elemental alpha strike. Rogue comes to mind. Then again that would probably require cheating to get a second blade
  11. Good question. I kill the crew, what happens with the ship? Why can't I use it, or sell it? I know, balance (nobody would ever try to sink a ship if they could capture it for profit), but it's silly.
  12. It is now good enough for my Jedi RP fantasy character (Devoted/Cipher perhaps)
  13. Not really, for me ToB still is the greatest expansion pack ever released for an RPG game.
  14. I recommend going Begulier/Trickster instead, if what you need is crowd control.
  15. You are also a very seasoned combatant, and your party members are too (mostly). Yet you can get SURROUNDED by a group of nobodies. Ambush itself is fine, but the fact that some random pirates are able to surround your veteran group is dumb. Hey sorry for wanting some RPG in a RPG ;p
  16. Neither do a ranger and a pet if we're going by classic CRPG/D&D standards (eh, there was the beastmaster subclass, but pet+ranged was hardly class-defining). Paladins have been able to alternate between off-tanking and solid DPS since PoE1. I would have thought that currently in terms of DPS in Deadfire: 1. Rogue. 2. Monk 3. Wizard 4.Druid 5. Barbarian 6. Cipher 7. Ranger fighter 8. Priest 9 . Paladin I putting priest above paladin becasue they get holy fire, shining beacon Sir, you must be high. Have you ever tried a Bleak Walker built for Fire damage? With Magran's Favor, Sungrazer, Fire Acc ring etc? Anything that isn't immune to Burn damage gets obliterated. Flames of Devotion is very strong if you supplement it with gear and talents. This is exactly why Paladin is so strong as a multiclass. His early game abilities are incredibly strong, but mid-to late abilities suck, so mid-to late you just pick passives, which Paladin has a lot
  17. Paladin is a bad single class but a fantastic multi, for both damage and support purpose.
  18. Paladins have better synergy with Chanter than Monks, so maybe they are OP?
  19. Yeah but Barb can still make great use of it, especially when you multi with Ranger. It's also still a top notch Cipher weapon.
  20. I hated the idea of Camping Supplies so much... resting system in Deadfire is so much better and user friendly. It also makes more sense. I mean why can't my Wizard suddenly cast spells now. Did he forget how to do it and must rest to remember? I think I saw a meme about that dating from 2E AD&D. Let the outdated mechanics die.
  21. Yes let's go back to trying not to use any abilities at all to preserve them for harder combat that might await around the corner, because I'm running low on Camping Supplies and don't want to waste 10 minutes just to go to a damn merchant! Or, alternatively, let's not..
  22. Barbarians have better dps than Monks, so maybe they are OP? I think everyone could use a Snickers. Some classes really need buffs, but the top classes all feel fine.
  23. It's the same for every other class, except casters. EDIT: To change this they would have to copy cooldown system from Tyranny. I personally would love that but I know many will disagree.
