Need some suggestions
I'm respeccing Eder from DW Sabre -> DW warhammer. Seems like dual dmg types are better. Thanks for the tips on Dragon Thrashed. I just reached level 9. So far don't have much problem at level 8. Only problem i'm getting wiped are those Adra Animats in Endless Path level 7. I already have the Forgemaster Gloves for Pallegina. Previously i have her DWed because i thought it deals more damage for FoD. Then actualy i found 2 casting per encounters are actually just icing on the cakes. I was thinking of respeccing her from DW Swords -> 2H Greatswords or Estocs. Kinda dilemma in choosing which. Estocs don't have dual damage types but DR (best IMO) but only with 1 damage type. I'm thinking Pallegina should go Estocs? As the Blade of Endless Path is actually Estoc? But seems like Tidefall is really great too. I'm loving Hiravias so much. I'm aware he's a caster. His firebrand deals alot of damage too. Plus when he is in Shapeshift form.. he crits and hit so hard!. Hiravias compared to GM or Sagani, i always pick Hiravias. He basically has everything: cc, nukes, debuffs and can shapeshift!. Also, the favorite Returning Storm. As for why i'm having Durance with Sword+Shield with some armor that's for backup purposes. I'm always using small shield (no penalty on ACC? plus fine small shield gives additional +4 Deflection. I'm not sure how bad is the recovery. I'm always using the Arquebus and only switch to sword and shield if enemy gets near him. Btw my MC chanter using Persistence.. to draw some aggro and then when enemy nearby i switched from Bow -> Sword and Shield.. Insta 83 Deflection :D

Need some suggestions
heya.. i can't decide if Pallegina should go dual wield or 2Hander. FoD seems to benefit for DW. But I have too many DW characters. I have Eder and Hiravias DW as well. Was wondering if i should respec Pallegina for Great Sword or Estoc. I'm playing on POTD.. Dragon Thrashed chanter. Currently Level 8 and was wondering which is the best choice to side on the factions. Doemenels? I'm not sure if Dragon Thrashed Chanter is going to benefit on the Crit reward or Should i go crucible? Currently Eder is DW 2xSabre but it seems like Hiravias is the shining star there. Also, i heard it's good to put Durance on heavy armor? I'm having him with Sword and Shield so.. i replaced his old robes to Hand Key though. hopefully it's not too bad on recovery? Also. if let's say i complete one of the faction quest, am i not able to access some of the stores in either factions? If anyone has any suggestions on best waepon focus for other companions. For Eder it's Sabre, Hiravias is peasant as i DW spears + hatchet. The whole reason was i read that Weapon Focus Peasant actually benefit unarmed which contributes to his Staelgar form. So for Pallegina.. should i got 2Hander? If so Estoc or Great Swords?

Better party formations?
Not sure if this were discussed. But wouldn't be nice if there are more party formations customizations / presets in Deadfire? I find them a bit lacking in first PoE. By the way, what do people think of party formations? Are they really useful or useless? In terms of engagement, if party members stay together it gets easily AOEed. If they were to be separated, then each party member should have some tankiness or some form of escape mechanism or they be easy food for some enemy tanks. Are they designing each party members can be more sustainable this time around? Or perhaps players need to figure out themselves on this?

Do we get to fight more Dragons?
Archaven replied to Flamenstein's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Haha... I am afraid it is less the case of learning but having EAs funding for it. While PoE is very successful as far as the crowdfunding independent titles go, it will never reach the expensive look of AAA games. Still, a fair trade for not having your soul sucked dry. Well sadly i tend to agree with you on this. But at least Obsidian devs can get some inspirations :D

Moar Godlikes!
Archaven replied to Pallegina's Panties's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Maybe it's just me but i think some of the godlikes are quite immersion breakers especially the death godlikes. The avian godlike looks more acceptable as it leans more toward human-like. I'm not looking for more godlikes but i had like if these godlikes feature can be toned down. Maybe put a slider? Make it so that a death godlike has minimum resemblance of death touched but still human-like. Maybe it's really normal in the Eternity settings where most of the folks thinks aliens are natural beings?

Ranger companion and Party Summons
Now that Obsidian forcefully take away 1 party character, i think Ranger companions or Party Summons play an important role for the 6th slot. I'm not sure if this were asked before. I like to see ranger companions and other character summons plays an more important role and offer more customization, leveling and progression. Choose a bear companion for more tankiness? Or choose a sabretooth for more DPS? Also besides ranger, i like some other classes maybe Wizards? To have it's own familliar, constructs or even summon? Having a Nymph or a Faery as a semi-permanent companion? Like summon Nymph/Faery once per encounter/rest. These summons or companions would have their own HP, defense, resist, abilities, spells and talents? That would be great. Perhaps these were discussed. If so my apologies. Ps. I can't see myself not taking a Ranger or having any of the party members to not multi-class as one in Deadfire.

Five man party ? idk... let's discuss
Archaven replied to dam's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)This isn't a good argument for a cap of six on the party, since the same argument can be made for seven, or eight, or even twelve (eleven companions/sidekicks in the game). Moreover it ignores the fact that the game is balanced (however poorly) around the party cap: raise the cap to six then anyone who takes five will be at a disadvantage. Your argument isn't a good one either. All of the past infinity games were designed with 6 party characters not seven, eight or even twelve. Even first PoE was having 6 party characters. Why out of a sudden it need to be designed at the party cap of 5? Why not 4 then? Or even 3, 2 or 1? It's the same argument i can make that anyone who takes 4 will be at a disadvantage. Your argument is moot as even first PoE there are people who solo with 1 party character.

Summoned Mage weapons
Archaven replied to Seafarer's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Chanters get a spell that summons three floating weapons, but Wizards don't get anything similar. I like that idea so that each class has it's own unique spells or abilities and it make perfect sense to have one in the team.

Five man party ? idk... let's discuss
Archaven replied to dam's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The word "I".. With 6 party characters.. you CAN go with 5 man party. With 5 you CANT go with 6 for people who want it.

Do we get to fight more Dragons?
Archaven replied to Flamenstein's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I love dragons! Obsidian can really learn from how beautiful Dragons were designed and animated in Dragon Age Inquisition. I suggest Obsidian devs to play that game. And also ships! Learn from Assassin's Creed Blackflag too on how to design ships please.

Companion Portraits
Archaven replied to ghostwriter's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I don't like Eder & Pallegina. Eder's look very different now.. and Pallegina.. why out of a sudden she looks ugly? I remember she looks beautiful. Did they cut down the cost on art or something? And Aloth too. Geez

Is there going to be more Armor Sets/ Variation in Deadfire?
Archaven replied to Rydius's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yes i hope so. I think the armor design in original PoE was quite bland.

Ranger companion request : Dog
Archaven replied to Hound's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I like majectic animals like bengal, white tigers and african lions!. And to complete the list, sabretooth! :D Also i would love that the pets actually make some roar when attacking. Well it can be tuned up to the point that it happen 1/20 so that it wont be annoying!

Actual music
Archaven replied to Haran's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)My biggest complain is the combat music. I found it quite annoying. I hope they can have better combat music this time. And also combat music for epic battles. Anyone play Dragon Age Inquisition? The dragon fight and end game battle music is efking awesome.

About Update 38
Archaven replied to Sedrefilos's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Xoti carrying the lantern all the time and the running animation with it looks really awkward. Any chance of it getting polished?

Slow time feature
Seems like there's a new game call Tower of Time which uses the slow time instead of pause. Maybe Deadfire can have a similar feature? It seems the slow in PoE is still kind of fast. I remember there's a few level of slowness in earlier build. Why now only one?

Do we get to fight more Dragons?
Archaven replied to Flamenstein's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I like more different type of creatures. Maybe Obsidian can take a look at Heroes of Might & Magic? How about Medusas? Phoenixes? Hydra? Or how about mounted enemies? Gryphon rider? :D

A bit late to the party...
Archaven replied to Pallegina's Panties's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)There's a similar game in development you may want to check it out. It's Pathfinder Kingmaker. I think market don't have much of these type of games.

A few concerns and questions regarding the E3 video
Archaven replied to Chilledfish's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)while i'm enjoying.. i feel it being meaningless. might as well just convert those stash to gold coins. just only drop those useful loot, rares or uniques. so that i be happy i'm getting something good . i stashed all the crap loot and go back to merchant and sell them to find out it's really worthless price. so might as well just convert them to gold coins :D Well, sometimes I just can't be bothered to sell stuff. Especially if I don't really care to have the gold to buy stuff. And I don't typically buy my gear. So having to offload a full inventory is just a hassle for me. I'd rather not reach a moment where I'm forced to do so. I enjoy the bottomless stash too!. So much convenience and i'm not forced to abandon any loots lying around.

I prefer to game on my desktop, but I have to constantly move to or from work, college, my house, etc. Gaming on my laptop has become basically my only options this days. Five man party ? idk... let's discuss
Archaven replied to dam's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)and your point is? so what should be the magic number for a standard army then? based on older games the standard number has always been 6. so what makes 5 a better number and not 4, or 3 or 2 or 1?

A few concerns and questions regarding the E3 video
Archaven replied to Chilledfish's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I can't recall much of any titans in games except the Might & Magic franchise. Still having that nostalgic feeling in Heroes 3 where Titans were so cool
