Frowning upon proficiency page as a monk
Boeroer replied to Narcolypse204's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Hey - I also altered tha skin tone! With the overpower of... THE GIMP! -
I don't think so. I think that vessel is the umbrella term for constructs, animats, "undead" like Fampyrs and Guls, animated weapons, liches, wichts and so on... For example a lich is a vessel, but not an undead: Also wichts are vessels but not undead. Their bodies didn't die but were born without a soul - then infused with an animal's soul. Since even PoE's lore makes a difference between vessel (as an umbrella term) and undead (as a special type of vessel) and even between necromancy (nekros = death) and animancy (science of the essence) I think I'm not too far off.

I wasn't really mocking your work. I liked the "stoned" look pretty much - for example it would be perfect for a Nalpasca. Seriously now. This new one is also good - now one could think it's just some makeup or so. -
Yes. Helwalker MIG bonus is passive and thus stacks with everything while Duality is an active modal and thus doesn't stack with other actives.

But... two handed weapons do have the same speed as the heavy one handers in Deadfire, don't they? It's not a myth that two handers do perform better when they are wielded with the same speed as one handers. It's physics.

Deadfire: Would you like to know more?
Boeroer replied to Tattyblue's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
The tooltip of Paladin's Faith and Conviction says so. I assume it's left out of the beta because you play from lvl 6 to 9 and there's no way to get enough disposition points in that short phase. -
Frowning upon proficiency page as a monk

How could that be your first PC's face? I made that old one myself as well. With the overpower of the Gimp! -
Well a first idea one can get from the immunities of fampyrs in PoE: Immunity to: Charmed, Confused, Disease, Dominated, Poison, Sickened, Unconscious If we look at the Devil of Caroc who is a "Living Machine": Immunity to: Charmed, Confused, Disease, Dominated, Poison, Sickened, Unconscious (same as Fampyr). Cannot use food, drinks, or drugs They can get healed/resurrected in the game. I think it's mostly the blood they are after since that is the main source of the essence. Since they are immune to unconscious I guess they don't sleep as well. There is Necromancy in PoE which is not the same as animancy (Necromancy = magic, Animancy = science). Concelhaut and Helig are Necromancers - I don't know if they are also "official" animancers but I guess not. Maybe they use the term "undead", but I haven't seen it in the game (or more precisely: can't remember).

[BB 4] Bleeding cut is heavily bugged
Boeroer replied to kmbogd's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
Good research. If I'm not mistaken this also happens with the draining/healing of Soft Winds of Death. THe first tick is 15 in my case while the rest is a lot lower. Might be a global problem with the implementation of ticks or so? -
The rewards are already known and it doesn't sound like they are in DLCs. But it could be that they will get unlocked after release (although it's kind of weird that you might not be able to get all the items when you start your first playthrough).

Nalpasca is the most powerful monk subclass in my opinion (in the beta). Even the lousiest drug lasts for over 600 secs with decent alchemy and the Nalpasca will gain wounds so quickly you might have problems to spend them. Thus, he's totally ok as multiclass material. I'm thinking about Nalpasca/Ascendant - expansion of consciousness and ascension with drugs and so on, you know. Also, Hammering Thoughts and Thunderous Blows stack and the +10 INT from Duality will be great when it meets the ascension when at max focus.

Kalakoth's Minor Blights are one-handed. If you put a melee one-handed weapon in your offhand and summmon Blights you can attack with 30% attack speed bonus and even use Two Weapon Style (for additional 20%). Or you use one-handed Style and gain +12 ACC and hit-to-crit conversion. Besides that (in the beta) all other summoned wepapons are two handed.

Hello and welcome! I'll answer your questions one after the other, using your quotes: Yes, Backstab can be done from stealth and invisibility. There are several ways to turn invisible (talent, items, ability). Backstab doesn't need to be done from the back by the way. Sneak Attacks need afflictions on the enemy to work. They also work in the first 2 secs of combat automatically. So usually you get Sneak Attack + Backstab bonus when you attack from stealth and picked Backstab as an ability. Since rogues already have a lot of damage bonuses you can go with less MIG and put more points into DEX. You can go with a hireling party- no problem. Maybe you'll lack some money right at the start to buy them all at once though. Party compisition looks nice. I'd recommend a druid as supprt caste because he has all the things you mentioned. Depends. If he's more glassy he can do more damage - but if he's too glassy he'll do no damage because he's knocked out. However, if you don't drop RES and CON to 3 you can babysit him enough to get along without defensive talents. Just don't rush into melee. Let the tanks engage first. There are several ways to lower enemies DR and/or to stack some DR bypass on your rogue - like Vulnerable Attack and special grloves that give you DR bypass or spells. For non-main-character paladins or priests it doesn't matter. Except that every priest "subclass" has a different set of favored weapons. It's a talent that you can pick if you want a preist who also attacks with weapons and gives you +10 accuracy with two favored weapons of the god (kind of). You can look those up in the wiki. They are listed on the priest page. Hope that helps - I did a much moire detailed thing but it got lost when I send the answer - stupid forum - this is the somewhat shorter answer. If I should elaborate on points please let me know. One last thing: please give your paladin the Belt of the Royal Deadfire Cannoneer and Forgemaster Gloves and then melt everything with Firebrand + Flames of Devotion + Intense Flames + Scion of Flame.
