  1. lol "butthurt". are peeps still using that cringey adolescent sex-negative homophobic term in 2018? i love it. I only use it when I hurt my butt. I mean literally. Like last week when I slipped on that iced corrugated iron roof and my butt hit the parapet wall.
  2. What is a favored weapon? That's PoE stuff afaik or what did I miss? Do you guys mean the spiritutal (summoned) weapons of a priest? Those should be fists for Woedican Priests. Glowing purple hands with a raw lash - like the Woedica-Priest-NPCs have and which you can get via console. They stack with Transcendent Suffering/Monastic UT. Maybe they nerfed that though. Was pretty overpowered...
  3. Awesomest update! The best news is that Deadfire will come to Nintendo Switch! . . . . . . . . ...Hahaha! For a second I got you!
  4. White Worms in PoE exploded ALL corpses in range. Why does it work differently in Deadfire? Especially since in Deadfire the "corpses can be used multiple times" cheese got removed? If White Worms does only explode one single corpse (as the description and the higher base dmg suggest) I'd say meh. Maybe the whole mechanic got changed during development and the Upgrade (Putrid Stench) wasn't proplerly altered - and now behaves a bit weirdly?
  5. If you hit an enemy with Minor Missiles who has no Combusting Wounds and compare it to an enemy who has you will see a big difference. Especially if the missiles don't fully penetrate. You can watch the effects of CW best if you cast Wall of Flames on two enemies: one with CW and the other without. The dmg numbers will be shown above the heads but NOT in the combat log.
  6. The radius of Carnage is influenced by one or even two Rings of Overseeing, Aloth's Armor and INT bonus/maluses.
  7. Did you forget an "f" in your Spiritshift? You can edit your thread title with the button "use Full Editor" or something like that (right of the save button) when trying to edit your opening post.
  8. I think you didn't quite understand what happened to Nemnok...
  9. Looks like he has been badly misled by youtubers, because though spells/abilities are often "the same", or seem so, PoE 2 differs from 1 quite substantially (unlike in case of BG1/2, let alone their EE versions). If that was the only beef he had with Deadfire, he can buy it, no worries.Anyway, I would prefer starting from level 1 even if it did not differ, because RPG systems invariantly work best at lower levels and only get worse the further one progresses, so I am happy with Deadfire not mimicking BG2. He wasnt mislead by YT. The spells for Wizards, Druids, Priests, Ciphers are almost identical to the first game. What are you talking about he was mislead? Once again we have this same situation with Fanbois on this forum refusing to believe cold hard facts with evidence to back it up. I noticed your post even got multiple likes. What do you mean? Your evidence is a story about a friend of yours who watched YouTube videos? What facts does that back up (I mean besides the fact that you posted that story in an internet forum). If I'd tell a story about my best buddy Earl the Turquoise Elephant who told me that he bought Deadfire twelve times because there are some cool new spells in it - would that also count as evidence? I mean besides the cold hard fact that I drank too much nail polish? To start all over at lvl 1 and to reuse the same spells (by name) while the whole mechanics got reworked was a decision that we might not agree with. But to be able to use this as evidence for anything we'd need to have survey data, meta research, telemetry data or a bunch of interviews. Or maybe an official gal/guy who steps forward and explains stuff. Everything else we do here is (mostly interesting) speculation, hearsay, indicators and anecdotes.
  10. I usually test a build idea with the console, then I will start and finish a playthrough with the idea I like best as MC and the others I gathered as adventurers (or companions if they fit the class - like Serafen = SC Barb). The ones that are cool during that playthrough I might post. That's why I don't post a lot of builds atm: not enough time to finish my current playthrough.
  11. A Black Jacket/Ranger with Crossbow as his basic weapon and three arbalests as interrupt-fallbacks is a good char to ensure that enemies can't get off a spell/ability. If you see an enemy starting to do dangerous stuff just switch to a loaded arbalest (with modal on) and shoot the guy. Since reloading can be cancelled the arbalest will be ready to fire immediately after switching.
  12. As I understand this, each source of conversion is processed one-by-one. It checks one, if converted, you're done, and if not, it checks the next. So, if you have 3 sources of h2c, at 25%, 15%, and 10% (I'm inventing numbers to illustrate because I don't remember precisely what chance the abilities you mention give you), the chance of a non-conversion is .75 * .85 * .9 = .574. Subtract that from 1 and convert to a percentage to get your total h2c chance: 42.6% Yep
  13. I think it's more petty (and presumptuous) to always call one's mere opinion "facts" and "truth".
  14. Look at my signature. No, not the Waltermann part.
  15. Paladin has one big advantage when it comes to crits: Ring of Focused Flame works with FoD. That's +10 ACC on top of your +10 ACC which FoD brings. Conversions are multiplicative. It doesn't matter if the biggest or whichever part of it is used as "base" though. It's communtative.
  16. AoE. Not with the full amount, but still. Also the focus generation works with the AoE hits.
  17. Well... Microsoft is working with Linux more than ever. Of course that's mostly on the business software level, not the consumer level. But in general it seems that Microsoft is more open minded towards Linux nowadays. Maybe also because it's no threat at all... I have no hopes for MacOS though.
  18. Nothing basically. We clashed a bit and that's it. It was just an example (that some people may have witnessed and remember).
  19. With high DEX, Alacrity and Rapid Casting it's not that bad.
  20. I still think that the setting is a big reason. It's visible and obvious when searching for a game to buy. Another might be disappointment with PoE for whatever reason. Those are two reasons not to buy Deadfire. The other internal "flaws" might be reasons not to like Deadfire (and could have a huge impact on the sales of PoE3 should it ever come), but you will have already bought the game then. And remember: reviews were fine. Not a lot of people like getting served "something new" unfortunately (you can include me when it comes to new game mechanics while the old ones worked just fine...)
