  1. Having high might actually makes your recovery more than enough without the talent.
  2. You need 170ish on PotD (deflection) with a paladin and even more with other classes, cause their other saves are lower. Also getting hit by fear aura with other classes than pala might be a bummer on PoTD. (Pala ofc has a talent that pretty much trivializes the aura. whether it hits or not.)
  3. It's not a bug, but very annoying. You don't even need something like paralyze, simply holding adra is enough. You don't even necessarily need to waste a spell for it, just get the dragon stuck behind the 2 xaurip archers and she will be entirely harmless.
  4. Congratz. Paladin is super safe solo, but fights with mobs take waaaay too long.
  5. Haven't read all your post, since its way too much text for me. ;p Generally your team looks decent, two things I don't agree with. The fighter is not needed just because he engages more enemies. In this game any tank will always engage more foes than his limit, because the AI sucks. The rogue seems way worse, than a cipher in a small group. Aoes and cc are supreme and ciphets ranged damage is not really worse than rogues due to soul whip.
  6. It's great if you have a tank with high defense values so he doesn't get hit by the detonation. ) Oh the explosion does friendly fire? That brings me back to a question I asked in another thread, which is how to make effective use of Ringleader. The two times I've tried it, it was too effective, as it controlled literally everyone, and after a second or so they all broke control at the same time. Is it pretty much only going to work effectively if you cast it from stealth when the enemies aren't bunched up yet? You can control where to cast it, no? Just cast on the edge of the bunch, so you only hit half of them. @Boeroer It isn't even necessarily because of friendly, even though my cipher always ends up with enough accuracy to hit my tanks, but because the skill isn't that good since only one enemy explodes.
  7. You can kite the pull the ogres very easy btw. I never do it because cheese. (Unless I solo.) But definitely possible.
  8. Cipher is the best ranged dps, yes. But if you play PotD bows are a must, bwcause of more reliable focus build. Warbows have similar dps to guns, hunting bows have the best (late game) unique.
  9. For the tank: deflection, fortitude, resolve, perception, might, constitution, dexterity and intelligence. Also interesting are bonuses to the other saves (will, reflex). For dps:Accuracy, Might, dexterity, crit multipliers, perception, deflection.
  10. I would take Fort and Ref defense talents but thats just my solo reflexes which are less important with party. As to paladin buffs you can/'t cast on yourself: they have to be castable on friendly targets, not just allies.
  11. If you have a priest 1 tank is truly sufficient. Just have an off fighter like monk who deals with strays.
  12. Definitely playing PoTD and trial of iron! Also the point is not, whether a melee rogue needs deflection, but whether he can be used against Adra Dragon.
  13. This sounds like you've never played a rogue... Shields don't work. That's exactly what I wrote, what's your point? The only guy doing absolutely accurate posts here is Gromnir, sounds like he actually did that fight with a melee rogue while you are proud if some shades don't skewer you.
  14. A melee rogue that focuses on deflection is not gonna work, shields suck for dps and you're not gonna tank the master without shield.
  15. That's true, but kind of a moot point unless you see something besides DPS or focus to be worthwhile spending a talent point for on a cipher. Biting Whip, Draining Whip, WF Ruffian, Gunner, Marksman, Penetrating Shot... what must-have talent am I missing? Early greater focus is not that bad.
  16. You don't really get, that most people complaining about this rest the same way you do. This whole philosophy if you don't wanna cheese, don't do it just stinks like ****. Especially in a game which seemingly cares for balance as several updates prove.
  17. Or you can never pick up any loot at all, or you can play without a monitor, or you can never level up, etc. All these options are exactly as irrelevant to any balance discussion because nothing forces you to use them, just like nothing prevents you from resting after every fight (or more to the point, before every remotely difficult fight). Therefore, for the sake of balance, the only reasonable assumption is that everyone is at full strength in every fight, because, surprise of surprises, that is exactly the case any time that you have a difficult fight ahead - the first thing you do is rest up, or, more importantly, you at least CAN. The fact it's inconvenient to run back to town for more supplies if you overdo it is not relevant to balance at all. The only way a rest system can possibly work is if the devs have the balls to actually restrict it in some real way instead of going "trolololo stare at some loading screens you naughty boy, you rested too much", which has to be the most idiotic way to try to "balance" anything ever conceived. "Hey let's totally allow the player to do this, and let's make it the strategically superior choise, but let's make it turn the game into total ass!". ****ing brilliant. But hey, why balance anything or design the game intelligently when you can apparently just call anyone doing something smart a "cheeser" and win. THIS.
  18. The strategy is perfect, thats true, my comment was directed at the thought the strategy is only viable with a rogue which its not. A monk would be awesome for it, too.
