  1. Level 4 chant: Her Courage Thick as Steel Please tell me this doesn't stack... Wait, please tell me it does. :D
  2. You can have two games open, but I tend to just play 2 hours on no ToI and then replay that part on ToI.
  3. Yea, those skuldr kings cry for rings of deflection.^^ 6 Ogres will be fun, but I think 6 dragon chants will evaporize most foes before I can summon.
  4. True, tho depending on personal playstyles some people including me, play their party chars quite similar to solo. In Pillars your attributes don't really define whether you play ranged or melee for example, so whether you want more defense or are ok with squishy is totally down to personal taste.
  5. It actually is not that different from a normal playthrough with reloads, when you failed. You play the part where you don't fail twice, that's true.
  6. Hmm, MIG for the self-heal, INT for the duration-based things? What if you build it entirely around modals? Well even the self heal is duration based. As long as you don't solo it doesn't matter anyway. You can definitely build it around modals then. If you solo you'll look for max efficiency and since fights are longer you want long durations and since 1 char doesn't do a lot of damage you want to maximise that too.
  7. It's actually not that hard. You just need two saves one ToI and one not. Find a 100% working startegy for a fight on the normal save, adapt it to the TOI save, done. It's not really different from reloading on a normal save.
  8. Lol, that was not even intended. :D On another note Ancient memory also stacks.
  9. This will be a new video series, where I exploit 6 chanters. The first thing you will notice, is the chant which drains endurance stacks on enemies, so even by standing still you deal massive amounts of damage. Also you can summon 6 phantoms at once. Looking forward to level 9 and dragon chant. Pretty sure it also stacks. Here I take on the bear with main chanter being level 3 and the others freshly made on level 1. I ahven't ven got deflection rings or any good items for that matter. I have no tactics whatsoever other than letting endurance drain. I didn't need to summon a single phantom I did it for lolz sake.
  10. Apart from it being the worst thing you could do to a caster, 3 INT ofc still works well. Don't forget you can put those points into other attributes. A 3 INT wizard still packs more of a punch than a 3 INT paladin and almost everybody who solos adra on PoTD has one of those.
  11. Reminds me of being eternally hasted in BG2 if you used energy blades.^^ Using a quarterstaff with 9 actions per round, good times.
  12. So not sure if this was posted before. Often people have wondered just how little END the three peasants attacking Aloth in Gilded Vale have. If you have a chanter and the END drain chant activated, those 3 will die instantly, taking 1 damage each.
  13. I also think that this is negligible. I have not much experience with solo playthroughs - thanks for the info. I'm actually quite happy that this build can also work solo. Well Wizards have stuff like Infuse with vital Essence for HP and Arcane Veil + several spells for Deflection.
  14. So, I just started a chanter, because I want to build the laziest party ever 6 chanters. :D In the starting area I encountered, what feels to me like a HUGE bug. When I killed the wolves I summoned a phantom when the wolves were down to near deat status and it correctly disappeared after the wolves were slain. When I got ambushed by the 2 Glanfarthans however, the phantom did not disappear after the fight was over it stayed for the next fight and the fight after with their leader and Heodan. When the caravan leader uttered his famous "Git inside, run", the phantom did not run, but stayed on the battlefield, so I thought it would surely be gone, now. NO, once I spawned inside the ruins, there it was again. edit: Now, that I quit the save and reloaded, the phantom is finally gone.
  15. Muahaha Thanks for another great read. Purely from the stats soloing would work I think, btw. My curent solo wizard has 6 CON, I don't think 3 makes much difference.
  16. Can't really agree on your points about defensive fighter, needs INT and MIG for several traits. You've got to have quite balanced stats for a def fighter DEX is easiest dumpable but is better at something like 6, CON doesn't need to be higher than 12.
  17. There were no specific druid changes I think, but since 2.0 there are now immunities in game, which hugely buffed summoned blights. @Everyone Have blights the same short duration as other summons or are they INT based?
  18. I feel like respeccing often is a little cheesy. Ofc to each their own in a SP game, wasn't meant to be offensive or anything.
  19. Taking more than one aura is a bit of a waste of a talent though, as there are many more which build on each other. Mutually exclusive modal abilities all are. I usually play with two paladins, and have no complaints about the damage output. Flames of Devotion do serious damage, and the auras and exhortations boost damage for everybody which more than makes up for the paladin's lower "raw" damage potential. Finding it pretty smooth going with my current party actually. Got all the Marking weapons in use now, which means everybody gives each other +10 ACC all the time. Crits everywhere! (My only complaint is with the loot table RNG. Not a Ring of Unshackling to be found anywhere!) I'd rather waste a talent then a whole character, but I didn't use a party for a long time, so I might be overthinking it. ;P Ofc you're not gonna have "complaints" about the damage if you play it right, but just compare the measly damage a paladin does compared to the true high damage AoE classes.^^ I think if I did a full party just for laughs sake, I really would have to constrain myself to pick other classes than ciphers, wizards and chanters. :D Ok I guess I would take priests and druids, too. :D But even though paladin is my fav class for solo I'd really have a hard time to fit one, let alone 2 into it.^^ Funny about the unschackling rings I always have at least 2 on my playthroughs which is too much for any solo char.
  20. You don't need to worry about getting wounds. First of all, PER doesn't give deflection anymore, so all deflection based chars have 10 less DEF. Also those kind of classes tend to use at least a small shield, a monk is not gonna use any shield. The real question is if you really needed resolve even if you wanted to max it. The answer I think is no, especially in a party and with the CON buffs. (Monk had beastly HP even before those). Another question is how many deceptive aka evil speech checks require you to have high RES, but I don't think it's too many.
  21. Bear on PotD is really easy if you are level 3. Some have done it on 2 lol. I also like the level 2 AoE DoT spell, it only does corrode dmg but for such a lowlevel spell it's still insane.
