I support this too, but I'd like it to be reactive for the returning companions based on decisions you made in the first game. If you got the "Night Market" ending for Eder, why can't Fighter/Priest be one of his class options? Even for a new character, like Maia who only has one class, it would be cool if choices you make involving her open up a specific multiclass option. I second that opinion. In game choices/accomplishments opening up some Easter Egg class options would be awesome. For example if Eder sticks his dagger into a certain hole in a tree that has a bees nest inside of it he should get a new option to become a berserker. Or a Chanter subclass that screams a lot. Is there a Howler subclass?

I would go (and have previously) go with with a Priest if Eothas. Go Dual wield Flails once you reach act 2. The first good flail is Guan’s Share which is a replensher, so between the flail and Veterans Recovery you will stay healthy. I would go something like Mig 16 Con 10 Dex 10 Per 16 Int 16 Red 10 So hit a lot and with some oomph. Once you get Unforgiven you can dual wield. By then you should be level 6-7 in Act 2 and will not need a Shield. Plus by then you will be casting Consecrated Ground and Circle of Protection. I would suggest a Pally to stand next to for either a Def or Att aura boost.

Going with Battle Axes can be tough as there are no god ones in the early game. You will be lackluster for awhile. Warhammers are a nice choice. If you are going with a party talents/abilities choices are more important than stats. Intelligence has nothing to do with scroll use. That is simply effected by how many skill points you add to Lore. You can have a Stat bonus from one piece of Gear, from food and from Resting. Plus spells.

I agree though I feel that is a foregone conclusion in almost all RPGs, is it not? There aree always the best weapons, armors, abilities and spells that end being abused. Even in PnP game engines you pretty much see this universally. Power gamers (basically most posters who play the heck out of the game) will always dig them out as that is half the fun for some. RPGs usually don't put talents/abilities like "deal unarmed damage, but less than a full Monk" flavor skills for players who wants to play a Monk but don't want to pick the Monk class or multiclass into it. In fact, most RPGs don't have much character customization outside picking a class and sticking to it. Even D&D, that people around here praise for its choices is way more restrained and going outside the class usually means penalties. The only end results is that POE1 (and soon POE2) classes are going to all feel seamy again. But Josh doesn't care, he prefer classless systems. Except for 3rd edition. That was very customizable. Still predictable though in the later level choices for warrior types. Wizardry allowed for a nice mix of ‘dual-classing’. Wiz 8 allowed for lots of different combos. Priest-Lord, Rogue-Any other trap finding class, Mage-Samurai, etc.... one of my all time faves.

Good to know then. I will end up playing this game a bajillion times for sure with all of the class combos. April can’t come soon enough. Almost forgot... Dear Devs, please add Beer to one of the deities’ portfolios so I can actually make a decision on what deity to pick for my Priest/???? PC on my first play through. Thanks!

Pallegina will play very differently than an Undead Hunter. Play as a 2handed swordsman as you will be getting Redeemer later on. With Durance as well you will be very strong defensively. Take Sagani and make one of her hunting bows deal extra damage to Spirits, give Pallegine the sword from the Caed Nua throne room and another party member should have the Bartender’s Ring. You can make a complete undead hunting team. In most runs I keep 3 gear sets per person. The build gear, undead slaying and dragon slaying equipment.

My fave order was the Shieldbearer. I found Pallies in general to be boring but loved my Shieldbearer in an all tank party. He shined brightly as the leader of 5 Warriors. Or in other party types he made my Melee Ranger/Wolf duos even more powerful/tank. Give him Shame or Glory and triple team an enemy. They could take down any non boss quite handily.

Immersion is awesome and makes for a great game, no doubt. But the addition of a minor thing added in game to represent a backer who put his/her/their time and money into the development of the game is a good thing. If someone has an issue with that they need to step back from their gaming system, take a deep breath, think about all of the important things in life and most importantly remember it’s just a video game.

Well, it's not like Marcel Proust is writing a novel there. It's a rpg that introduced a completely new setting and had a small budget compared to other rpgs out there. I think they did a pretty good job with the writing. The only thing I did not like were those texts you could read when clicking on the golden plated backer npcs. Not that all the individual stories were bad or so - it just felt completely out of place. I agree. But how often did you get a character in game? I was part of the Sorcerer’s Place group who got some stuff in game. Taluntain’s Staff.... quite nostalgic, at least it was for me. When people ask me about PoE, it’s the first thing I mention in conversation.

I’m all for a pissed off rant at this stage. Game breaking bugs at this point should be fixed. With crowdfunding, backers giving TONS of feedback at beta and heck, this forum itself is a gold mine of info on game mechanics/how the game engine runs/all the issues that are being discovered there is ZERO excuses for bugs still existing in the current build. The whole point of the backers/public betas is to alleviate the work from the Dev team. WE pay for part of the development, WE due part of their damn testing for them. The least WE should expect is a clean game.
