  1. I need to get with the times. What do you recommend for streaming my PC to my TV? They are 2 rooms apart, so I am asking for advice on wireless options only. Thanks in advance for any useful input?
  2. You never tried Planescape Torment? IMO the greatest game ever made. Old school wise I enjoyed Wizardry 8.
  3. I live it when you guys argue 'best' scenarios. It brings out all of the juicy math into the argument. It always makes me restart with a character build of who I think is winning the argument. Of course I just end up restarting again when the next thread pops up, but at least the new build excitement last for a day or two. So.... thanks for disagreeing.
  4. Try Planescape Torment:EE, great game. Also Tyranny is cheaply bundled with expansion right now. 60% off. What are your game-style preferences? Party-based? Build-centric?
  5. Plus the Ranger's Accuracy will bumped up by Marksman and most likely Wood Elf racial ability. That about evens the Accuracy score, no?
  6. Don't forget all of the time the Rogue spends unconscious in the early game. If you tank him up early his DPS drops off. Ranger will always be firing from the get go while their pet is dishing out damage as well. I have created customized parties with multiple Rangers and others with multiple Rogues. The Ranger brigade absolutely dominates the game. My fav was 3 Rangers with Bears, 2 Druids, 1 Barb. The Rogues struggled a bit against the bounties/bosses.
  7. A while back I was messing with the fighter tank abilities. So I created a Rautaii Captain with 5 reach weapon fighters. It was .... awesome in most fights. Except for when facing confusion/dominate/charm using enemies. Then it turns back on you big time. I was trying to keep a formation of 2x3. Also isn't wonderful against those little 'Creature of the Black Lagoon' Lagufeth bastards.
  8. Merciless Hand is the unique Talent you get by siding with the Doemenels during Act II, it increases your crit modifier by 0.3 i.e rather than doing 1.5 times as much damage with a crit you'll do 1.8 times as much damage. The Kraken is the last fight of the main quest in the White March II, but depending on what order you complete the game there can be plenty of difficult fights left after you've defeated it (bounties, dragons, archmagi, the final boss of the main quest etc.) so if you wanted to you could get a fair bit of use out of a Legendary Bittercut. Certainly I wouldn't use the Helwax Mold before I have made the item I want to duplicate Legendary (since duplicating also duplicates enchantments, you might as well get the best one you can). When using the Mold I like to use it before adding the lash and bonus type. It's nice to have different lashes and bonuses to multiple enemy types. Works great on Boeroer's Monksterlasher build.
  9. I have this guy to level 14, and I now have almost all the same stat distribution, gear, and offensive talents - except Remember Rakhan Field (I chose Wayfarer). And I am severely disappointed by the FoD burst damage. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I am not getting those massive hits. Was something from here nerfed since this build was posted? Edit: Is Vent Pick the best off-hand choice here, if you don't have 2 Legendary Bittercuts? (As an aside, I don't understand the point of posting builds that stress Legendary weapon enchants. Isn't the game essentially over by then? My understanding is that the Kraken fight ends WM 2.) When I see a build that is based off items only found in the end game I discard them. But they are cool know about...
  10. Bears are sturdiest imo. As long as the pet is alive your Ranger will pour damage into the enemy. I always add DR to my bear early on. Love to park my moon wells next to my pet.
  11. I use the Blunting Belt on casters and ranged Rogues. They seem to draw fire immediately. It helps give my healer(s) time to heal them.
  12. I'd keep scale armor on the table solely for fighters, because the -20% armor speed penalty plus -15% from durganizing push it down to zero recovery penalty. For any other class it's a pretty underwhelming combo of defense and speed. Why not breastplate? Ditto. There are several good breastplates to be had.
  13. Pets don't die... there just beginning of the fight meat shields that only get knocked out. Just set them to Aggressive AI and ignore them once the fights start. That's what makes them awesome. They're great distractions while you rain death.
  14. It breaks immersion Calisca's sister if you care about that. Otherwise she is nothing but a poor man's Eder without dialogue.
  15. I have a Dwarven Rogue with max Con. Dorgan Seabeard. A right salty little bastard. He was ..... ok.... overall, decent survivability in the early game. You take away either some of his speed or crit chances by maxing Con though. On Normal or Hard no biggie there. On PotD it shows. He just doesn't quite kill enemies fast enough. Which is his main purpose and he still seems to be targeted by all casters and ranged enemies. Lvl 8 now with party. He dual wields Ruffian weapons. Currently wielding Resolution and Misery's End. With potions of IVE and Lord's Authority ability he does survive the bigger fights.
  16. If you take Shod-in-Faith boots, a healing item like Galvino's Amulet or a belt, choose Veteran's Recovery and possibly a Second Chance armour or the Ring of Wonder with Drain Weapons I would say you have a viable Rogue for PotD. Solo? Probably not.
  17. It also works on other items, not just weapons. The Saber with Fireballs from the Endless paths duplicated partnered with a necklace of Fireballs is pretty nice on a high Mig/Int warrior type. Makes Fighters a not just a single target type of class.
  18. Does Durance Fire DR stack with other Fire DR items? I believe there is a Ring at the least.
  19. Durance's Staff can easily be an end game item with multi damage types. But so can Any item since Enchant/Durgan steel upgrades make basic items into end game equivalents, minus one or two extra abilities. Maneha's Armor is nice as well. Even Aloth's armor is good enough as you need a ring to do the same so you end up with another ring slot. Kana's hat... not so much. Can't remember off hand what Sagani's bow has. Is it ACC 2?
  20. Helewax mold turns any weapon into two. Dual wield Bittrrcut is a game ending weapon set.
  21. Increase both reload/recovery? I admit I'm not certain what the fix could be and still be balanced... Devs got it tough sometimes...
