One another reason I refuse to buy expansions White March 1 and 2. They give more exp, loot etc. and then people complain it is so freaking EASY on Hard challenge level. I am in Act 3 playing on Hard and my party is level 9 as they should be and not some freaking level 14. When you start act 3 if your party is level 9 then you are not underleveled (well certainly not on Hard, but have not tried Nightmare will maybe try Nightmare later in the Autumn) unless you are not good playing this game. I have done everything in Elmshore with level 9 party on Hard difficulty and it was no problem and felt nice slightly challenging and not some boring walk in the park challenge. I actually started Nightmare already with a FIGHTER! In addition did I copy any build from Forums? No I have my own builds. On forums people talk about offensive fighters with ok/good int. I want to do my own builds: Major spoiler do not look unless interested about my starting character a Fighter for Nightmare difficulty: I am not saying my build is best or excellent, but I like to do my own builds. 3 Int on your Fig will kill his healing abilities and AoE for any item/abilities. It should work fine with mobs in PotD but it might hurt you when dealing with big bosses and certain bounty quests. He should be very sturdy with your high Con and Res approach, which is very RP for a Dwarf, so good job there!

I like to make an amoured Icemage out of Aloth. Rymgrand's Mantle, Secret of Rime for starters. Also the White Spire for extra Blizzard spells, switching to hatchet and shield when necessary and defensive talents to sure him up and of course the White Crest armour and helm since he will be a Chillfog bastion usually holding a flank by himself. This build requires NOT fighting at doorways but instead using as much openness as possible. Same can be done for Firemage.

The annoying thing was getting injuries when one of your squshies was going unconscious from the explosion. At least until you tick the auto-pause on "Hidden object found". You either have someone with enough Mechanics to disable them entirely, or you don't, and either slowly inch around them or risk injuries. And a lot of traps are scaled up to make them nigh-impossible to disarm, like in the temple of Skaen. I know, the dev's are real bastards. Like anyone can resist disarming a trap! Those Skaen Temple traps were a real PITA.

You need wounds to power your monk abilities. Partially dump resolve. Maybe to 6-8 and add to Perception. Veteran's Recovery, Shod in Faith boots, Fulvano's Amulet, Belt of Bountiful healing, etc.... will sustain you. Monk has good Health/Endurance numbers so you should be fine. High DR from Sanguine Plate helps as well. I would drop Con to 10 as well. Those points are better used pummeling the enemy. Add them to Per/Dex.

Maybe a stunning/viscious Cladhaliath would work with this concept? Are there other non-weapon items that stack increases to crit percentages? Siding with the Doemenals will be a must. I think there are gloves that do it, not sure what else. Plan is to CC with Aloth while Rogue drops summons. Then second wave charge with Rogue doing A LOT of single target DPS. All this while my 4 Other meleers Eder, Pallegina, Maneha and Zahua charge to start the battle. Kana and Sagani until I get to WM.

Well.... it was worth a try. With adding all of the bonuses I can stack my Hold-Wall Ranger just seems lackluster. My party with Sanguine Plate - Tidefall Eder, Cladhaliath Pallegina with Marking/Coordinating, Dragon Slashed Kana, Yenwood Sword Durance and Soulbound Scepter Aloth is kicking arse, but my PC is a non factor in big fights. Skirmishing against the Bannermen was .... a bad idea.

It is that feeling we all get... deep down inside.... that the next version will be here soon and even better than before... that on the inside we are bubbling over with excitement and glee and makes us scream like little girls.... even if we are 6'4 grown men. Ahem.... nothing to see here.... ahem..... carry on.... all of you, carry on now!..... please, just carry on!

The sword you found in Caed Nua should help ad it is enchanted to do better Acc and Damage to Spirits. As does the 2nd level Wizzy spell Bulwark against the Elements. Enchant other weapons to slay spirits. You can stealth GM into a good starting combat position then use her spells that bounce between target and GM. They do nice damage.

Pallies that deal huge burst damage then buff/heal/support the party will end combats much quicker then a pure tank who gets ignored by AI. But..... I do love me a good tank for a minmax party just for RP reasons. Plus for PotD a Dualwield Bittercut Bleak Walker is pretty nasty. So is a 4 arq/arb Aumaua clipper.

Start casting Circles of Protection at the start of hard battles to help her. Buffing helps big time. Maybe give her a Blunting Belt, Fulvanos Amulet and take Veteran's Recovery. That should sturdy her up. W&S Style would help as well. As does Superior Deflection. Once you start gaining the 'Faithful' spells for a priest use them without hesitation. Priest truly are great party buffers.

Just go with a high Might/Int Hearth Orlan Fighter. He will heal quickly with his Recovery abilities, desk decent damage, tank and his high Int gives you good talking skill. Plus H Orlans get bonus for attacking the same enemy as his allies. Go dual wield for your speed need. I would dual wield spear with another Peasant weapon so you can use Cladhiliath. It is a unique spear that you can upgrade in many different ways. It's probably my favorite weapon in the whole game. Pair it with a hatchet like Hearth's Harvest. You can do this and still wear heavy armor. Add either Sanguine Plate or the cross class Barb Frenzy talent for even more speed. Then take two weapon style and durganize at the Battery. Bam!

I remember a great module for 1st/2nd edition AD&D in the Lanhkmar setting.... it was about chasing a Crossbow wielding Dualled Fig/Thief. He wielded multiple double shot crossbows. From a long distance. Good stuff for those days. You do see Xbows in lots of the fantasy settings. Eddings uses them in his books for example. It's not a stretch to assume players enjoy Xbows in their gaming.
