The + speed bonus for melee attacks that you get for shooting the pistol is permamently stuck with Maia - its constantly stuck in her character sheet at 22 second duration and doesn't go away anymore.... when i shoot the pistol again i get an additional time the buff (at least visually) - but the new one does disappear after the time is up... is there any way to remove it by console (i tried to find it via ability name / game data) but that doesn't seem to work - at least i can't find the passive effect

It doesn't mean anything. Welcome to Pillars of Eternity, where mechanic descriptions are wrong more times they are right. This is in no way limited to Chanter chants. I assumed its 6 plus 3 but this 10 seconds duration is incredibly confusing and unecessary, why even write it in most phrases? Someone gad to write it down and think of SOMETHING

The difference is with a wizard or druid you are much more likely to go single class if you want a pure caster-nuker...you usually mostly multiclass for buffing...with a chanter which leads itself more to multiclassing of how it works it really doesnt help besides, sure you can always create your own character or a mercenary and min max the hell out of stats and use sub classes to make some combination work fine - but i want to play the game its supposed to be with the companions i have and the stats they have been given...

Its supposed to be THE multiclass but the class has nearly no passive talents that you can stack as most martial classes...can only have 1.5-2 passive auras at best and on POTD even empowered chanter invocation debuffs have MAYBE a 50% hit rate....dont even try it not empowered.... I think the chanter needs desparatly passives that for example increase accuracy of invocations, increases linger time or other bonuses....honestly at this point i regret making pallegina a herald instead of a crusader

A lot of phrases are 6 seconds duration, 3 seconds linger, 10 seconds effects I am not sure i fully understand how this works in practice for example does that mean that when i use the phrase once i get a duration of 6+3 = 9 seconds so connecting 2 phrases means 3 secons "downtime" between them, or does it mean that i get a duration of 6+3+10 seconds because at the very end of the 3rd second lingering it will still apply the 10 secons lasting effect again (i think it's not that)...but how does this "lasts for 10 seconds" that most phrases have play into the calculation?

don't you have party members with high perception?You will have fun then, there is an island on the lower left corner of the map (which may or may not contain nice treasure) that may or may not have a bazillion traps ) ) Playing through with story companions. Eder, Xoti, and Aloth (For SOME reason) all have 12 Perception. Hopefully Serafen has more. Nope...you need maia

honestly there seem very few skill checks on attributes...the most i have seen was perception....but not that high and perception is nice for spotting traps and treasure anyway.... int, resolve, i haven't seen any 20 hours into the game... what gets checked often are skills and backgrounds - what comes up often is diplomacy/bluff/intimidate and insight...what also pop's up regularly is survival especially in scripted events, history, religion and streetwise are fewer but come up sometimes....Athletics comes up too in scripted events What i do is just focus one of my characters on one skill, i think most beneficial to the main character are insight, diplomacy and athletics
