  1. I think everyone can agree that tuning down xp gains would help significantly. In my current playthrough, I'm already at level 16 and I haven't done BOW or SSS yet. Neither am I a completionist... I'm unfamiliar as to how much work that would be, but if mods can do it (Deadly Deadfire is a new must for me), I suspect the devs can do it too. That being said, waiting until all the DLCs are released is a sensible approach.
  2. I agree with everything you say, except the part about the pseudo-philosophy. That is what made POE so memorable for me, a game that tackles (albeit only on the surface) metaphysical questions.
  3. Finished the game twice and I'm currently in my third playthrough. The good: the quests (especially the factions) the visuals (everything is super beautiful) the balance the DLC (only played BOW so far, but I'm looking forward to SSS and FS) The ok: the mechanics (I just much preferred POE's per rest system, the fundamental lack of an attrition system really hurts the game) the companions (nothing to write about for fifteen years, although the voice acting is pretty good) the encounters (they are generally good, but the dungeons are one dimensional and quite short, with a few exceptions. I was really expecting something cool for the Balefire Beacon, for nothing apparently) exploration (big game, a few places are a little light on content and no easter eggs?) The sorta bad: the main story (ad nauseam) the relationship system (a bit pointless honestly) the ship system (its a bit shallow, I hope they add more effort to it)
  4. Sad to hear that Deadfire didn't sell that well. I'm a big fan of the series... That being said, I think a third instalment of the series would still be a good idea, even if it is a narrower game. I just hope they focus on the narrative components of the game, as they are lacking in Deadfire (except for the DLC). Maybe a newer, younger team can fare better in that sense ?
  5. He has also been strongly contradicted by others with knowledge of the inner workings at Obsidian. I think its quite clear there are management problems. That being said, whether the company is about to be bought or unraveling, Avelone's actions are petty.
  6. I like the music in general (I especially LOVE the new battle music), but I do have a few (minor gripes): Music vs ambiant sound : I would have liked if a little more effort was made for ambiant sounds (yells in the streets, people coughing, laughing, etc.). While they are noticeable in several locations (notably in the Court at Fort Deadlight and at the Luminous Bathhouse), they are often second fiddle to the music and quite discreet. In addition, areas with little to no music but significant ambiant sound would have gone a long way in setting a more urgent/sinister tone (think the Docks in BG2) ; Music range : apart from battle music and certain areas, the music can be a bit repetitive... That being said, I'm a huge fan of Justin Bell's work for the POE series (I'm especially fond of the opening track for POE, man, I still get shivers). I would just like to hear more of it And I'm willing to pay
  7. Same here. By switching weapons they come back, so indeed minor bug. Also, the numbers of the per rest abilities hover even after the ability bar has disappeared (dialogue, text adventure, etc.).
  8. Hey, just to let you know that I got confirmation that it's been approved. Carry on
  9. No. The last page or so has been about just that. Just saw it, thanks for the answer
  10. So, are Berath's Blessings now allowed with Magran's Challenges? I'd like to know because it would mean restarting my wizard playthrough...
  11. I also think this is one of the most glaring UI issues with the game.
  12. Interesting. There's quite a bit of it that is old news though. I think than can keep the art pipeline for a while. It's very nice and it'll give them more time for the other parts of the game.
  13. It might have changed, but last time I checked, part of the UI still appeared, even when selecting toggling the option off in the interface.
  14. It's a nice feature, but it blocks even more the status effects of party members and characters (one of my major gripes since POE). Also, when selecting no recently used abilities, part of the UI still appears...
  15. So do I. Come on Obsidian, you are reading this thread, right? Please... Same here. I'd really like my next POTD playthrough (my first wizard in the whole POE series, can you imagine) to be with Skaen's challenge and a few of Berath's Blessings
