  1. Yes, Switzerland and even tiny Liechtenstein survive like that...
  2. Did you check out the components to make sure it's the mobo that's malfunctioning? (Try starting without PCI-Soundcard, replace Gfx, Ram, Proc...) If it is the mainboard: Check out hardware-price-comparison sites to find a replacement. I can find MSI and ASRock boards being sold here for Athlon socket 939, agp, ddr ram, probably that's true for your area too.

    live - white, discussion
  4. Hah Today was DnD day. The party had interesting fights againsts unusual opponents and different tactics, an almost optimal run from the DM's perspective. If only I had also used the grey jester's spells (he had some sorcerer levels). [edited to remove useless and dangerous stuff]

They said hawt, so that description is not bad either.
  6. Not only his comment on the "youtube comment" sounded like a youtube comment...
  7. Diabetes sucks, at young age especially What the heck does that mean? An hour and 18 minutes? "0x" is an often used prefix to indicate hexadecimal notation. 78(hex) is 120, so it is two hours
  8. It has the exact size of an 8800 Ultra, meaning: Yes, it is a damn big card - but it's only as big as the biggest single-chip card
  9. They should be, but I just read that having an LGA 775 socket doesn't guarantee you can upgrade your Penryn to a Nehalem. Can't find the link right now...
  10. Read about Halliburton and wish I hadn't. It's quite depressing stuff. I mean, how far can people go?... :/

    The crates!
  12. Heh? Animals are for eating? That's what my grandmother thought. Being a vegetarian is not unhealthy at all, if you can maintain the levels of all important substances, which isn't too difficult, unless you're vegan. Anyway, on topic: My cousin has 'thick blood' too. I don't know the causes, but I do know that he must use blood thinning medication for the rest of his life, as well as avoid smoking and other stuff that causes veins to become inflexible. Also, he has to take care to drink enough (water, not alcohol). That's all I know, because we never talked about this very much.
  13. Sure, rent it first It has quite big requirements to play it with all graphical options turned on. Screenies: My main character, Tree - Danger: Spoiler Alert!, Misty floor, A certain village, Example for the great in-game sequences, Example for "Iso"-Perspective ... Tell me if you need more
  14. See, if I'd hear more such things, and of people I know that have the same taste in games (which both of you do to some extent), and important: of people in RL, I'd get it
  15. Which qualities are those? Keeping me intrigued during the whole game, or at least wanting to get over weak parts because I'm expecting things to become better. Less subjectively put: An stringent, evolving and involving storyline. Good narration. Original characters that fit into the setting. Humour that fits into setting, style and mood. Strong on the tactical side. Consistent style in writing and art. Etc.
  16. The 9600GT, nVidias new mid-range card, is listed at price comparison sites in germany. The prices however are more of a joke right now (about a week before they come out), being higher than the price of a 3870...
  17. I'll probably not buy it, not right away. It will take a few good reviews of people I trust first, as Bioware didn't exactly improve the qualities that matter to me in their games.
  18. It would be great even without that arm. Because of the intestines you can wear as bracelet. No, it's great because of other things. Speaking of intestines: Currently playing: Penumbra: Black Plague, Demo. I'm surprised about its extremely realistic lighting effects and interesting physics use. Plus, I can run it with all options up, yay! It's pretty scary, I'm still tense

    Massive Attack - Three
  20. But dude, what application uses these eight cores?
  21. Yeah, and with the extra current used you could power a small office with 4 people with computers and a single cpu server... Anyway, you have to suffer if you want to be top of the line (I never thought anyone would even consider to buy Intels showcase-thingie)
  22. How sick is that... Rather watch if it has to be mythbuster [edit] Oh, this thread has a topic. Well, today's dinner didn't come out as intended, because that stupid chicken saltimbocca just wouldn't get to a point where it was eatable. Other than this, nothing worth noting really... Except maybe that I've not been assigned a particular job at work today, so I spent most of my time there reading a lot of theoretical stuff on economy and programming.

Helalyn Flowers - Voices (Steril Remix By Ewilking) Quite sexy electronic stuff
  24. How fortunate then that I've never played Grim Fandango, because my PC was unable to run it when it came out. I'm still not inspired enough though, to think more than: this could be a fun game, probably spiced up with a bit Terry Pratchett here and Nightmare Before Christmas there... Keeping the balance between fun and philosophy could prove difficult, but could be key for such a game's success (and for its rating by me )
  25. 780i is obsolete now, that 790i is arriving. Also, from what I gather, nVidia chipsets for Intel processors don't enjoy the best reputation when compared to Intel's own. As Sand uses one however, he probably is the more reliable source than me who merely read about it.
