  1. haven't heard it till now either. depeche mode - in your room ...
  2. How's the new one, 1001101 (or something )? NIN - Only Yes, neat video.
  3. 69 eyes? Hm, newer stuff features a great singing voice. "Gothic girl"s ;) (check the song!) certainly like it, and so do I, depending on the mood.

  4. My little foldable travelling headphones Sennheiser PX 100 sound great for their price class. At first I thought it was a little weak in height-reproduction, but after you get used to the strong bass, you can hear every detail. It could be better of course, but it was the best sounding "portable" pair of headphones I had heard at that time, about three years ago. edited for grammatical reasons, hope it's better now...
  5. Been trying to rescue an old PC (2x10 GB HDD, one of which is corrupting data, Athlon 1100, 768MB Ram. Used to be a top performer ) many an hour today. Watched "Bedazzled" while chdsk was running and found it to be mediocre. Listened to the "Human equation" since and am loving it Fitting to the theme of Shrykes post, I found an old email of an ex on this PC. Strange, her too. Inviting me to Skype or something after we broke up for good...
  6. Ayreon - The Human Equation (Album) Got it at last, a present from my girlfriend. Actually it's superb! Only one or two tracks whose melody structure isn't clear after the second listening. Ah man, that's fun! I mean, I'm currently fixing my mother's PC (hdd is dying, bloated system etc), and with this music in the ear, it's even entertaining to restart the computer for the hundreth time.
  7. This cart the girl is driving in reminds me of Need for Speed 2SE

    Torture!

missing the most important option... Hell No.
  9. Hehe, I feel so l337 now that I see how many people had problems with that section in IWD2. Always got it fast enough, if not with wilderness lore and ingame hints then with map pins
  10. Yeah, he calls the game Torment Planescape... Anyway: He didn't score all of Giants. In fact, I'm not sure whether any of his tracks appear in game, they certainly are on the Soundtrack CD. Most of it is a very mediocre showing of Soule, iirc.
  11. Damn, I'm still excited, and no one posted about this here yet, it seems. So... Some of the best game scores are composed by Mark Morgan, who was a very elusive person. Until now! Planescape: Torment and Fallout-Soundtracks fans rejoice, for he has a website! Here: http://www.markmorganmusic.com/ Pretty industrial, it seems. There's also an interview on a russian website: here We'll hear more soon. Most interesting: He seems to want to put MP3s in higher quality up on his site.
  12. No, it's not *is hard on old man* Jeremy Soule - Attack!!! (Track 4 from Total Annihilation)
  13. bit-tech also reviewed vista sp 1 gaming performance and "core" performance. They came to very mixed conclusions: Some apps ran better/faster/smoother, while others were slower, some didn't start anymore, and some showed no change...
  14. Ever tried the drive with a different PC? Master/slave-Settings ok? Hm...
  15. On the other hand, such decisions can make great atmosphere. Just check Penumbra: Black Plague. Awsome realistic flashlight effect that just fits
  16. Flesh Field - Inside Don't really like the voice.
  17. damn! me too

    Great nickname *gg*

  19. Certain atom models are still useful for calculating certain things, on school level at least, as long as it's made clear that these are no longer considered models that describe things accurately from nowadays knowledge. Thus it has it's place in an introductory science class, where, as you wrote, the history of science plays a role too. You cannot, however, calculate or conclude anything using ID, except trying to prove that it is a valid model. Thus it is completely self-centered and serves no further scientific purpose and should, in my opinion, not be taught as scientific approach to anything.
  20. There are very different sides in science of course But if you didn't quote it out of context, it might have become obvious that it actually means "only one viable method of backing up theories". I agree that intelligent design should not be banned from school (banning never makes things better), but certainly not be taught in a science class, but rather be noted as theory with roots in mythology or belief.
  21. So an OS-internal test claims the updated OS just got faster, and you believe it?
  22. Epic level stuff in BG2, especially TOB. Slightly less ridiculous in NWN2:MOTB, but still strange to fight against Nightwalkers as normal opponents, and all the usual gnolls and bandits being Lvl20+... Also, Shandra dying after always getting up after a fight ended before. About 'Werewolf': The one in Bloodlines was awesome! Kept me running and sweating until the time was over. The one in The Witcher looked horribly bad (Why? They did have a cool looking fur simulation for Yaevinn's clothes, for example), but the sequence was fun. So which one was meant by that?
  23. I think the whole blogging-thing going on right now makes us see the what "flaming" is going on on a personal level. Not really interesting, makes the scientists seem less sientific because they deal out on said personal level and get offended on the same level, and the creationists, well... they didn't seem worthy of serious attention so far, and only become so thanks to the internet showing a quantity of them actually do exist in this world, many of them obviously in the US. To me, this is all unnecessarily public, a thing of belief and thus should be quite personal. The whole science vs. religion debate is so superfluous... I mean, who the hell cares if a scientist is a christian, an atheist, or something else? Job and belief really should be on a different level for every serious scientist and educated person in general, if you're not a religion scientist or a priest.
