"Has US abstinence policy failed?"
Students are free to do so as long as it does not interfere with the other students - only mandatory prayer was deems unconstitutional. Hm? That's fine by me, it's not harassing anyone who isn't Christian, is it? Spreading false information about STD or teaching abstinence as only way to stay safe is of course male cow dung. I heard that this was the case in some african countries and am negatively surprised to hear that schools in the US that do so are tolerated. I wouldn't phrase it as harsh as Gorgon, however nor am I as amused by it as the first posters. Ridiculous? Yes. Funny? No: it's playing with the physical and mental health of kids.

Radeon 48XX coming
Oh yes, that is true. The prices for good cards never were as low as they are now. It's just that nVidia can freely set the price for its high-end cards: How much cheaper has a 8800GTX or even GTS (G80), not to mention the Ultra become since release 1.5 years ago or so? Not much. nVidia isn't even forced to invest in new technology, see the 9xxx series that's based on a G80 that was crippled in some areas and slightly improved in others.

Your Top Ten Games
Funny enough, I didn't have a clue either. What I "knew" about AD&D came from BG1, but still PS:T was very intriguing, not least because of the setting unknown to me at that time. Agreed with the points here, and I like new game worlds as well, though the look of the one in ME never made me feel like I wanted to play that game because of the universe. I can see how you're getting that impression. But let me assure you, it's not entirely true, as there pieces of art that are appealing to mainstream but still considered art.

Radeon 48XX coming
The coolest feature about new crossfire-x is that you can team between one and four chips even of different series So you could have a 3870x2 combined with a 3850 or something. If that works with the next generation too, I'm willing to consider to join the multi-gpu crowd. If the problems to achieve a smooth framerate are resolved and it will be possible to de-activate not needed cards (i.e. for surfing on the internet), that is.

Why not link to your post? Anyway, if considering Vista, a look at Nightshade's Software Compatibility List for Windows Vista found here certainly helps

Radeon 48XX coming
Yes sure, but I don't know of any programs that can actually use crossfire-setups in this way. It would be great if there were though. For SLI setups, such things could potentially exist, as nVidia sells multi G80 setups as stream processing units. It looks as if the end of this year would be a good point to build my new system: New graphics generation, AMD possibly becoming more competitive on the higher end too... Ok, I could wait for Fusion or something, but my PC is five years old already. So: Make the HD 4xxx series good, ATI!

You're right on the last one, but it would be commercial suicide to do so right now, if the 10% user base is true. Also, 64bit calculations should be taken into account more thoroughly. Btw, 4 GB can be adressed with 32bit-adresses. It seems that XP 32 doesn't report all 4 GB because system ressources are deducted from the total. Iirc, it was said that Vista 32 SP1 would say it can actually see all 4GB. Anyway, if it will be Vista for me before Windows 7, it will be 64bit Ultimate. Why updating if not for some interesting changes?

I personally wouldn't go SLI, as for now it only virtually improves performance, though I don't know whether there are any english articles out concerning the "micro-stuttering" (for the want of a better word) issues. Another thing is, are you sure you need a Quad-Core? Equally priced dual cores might still be the better options, until the majority of developers has figured out how to really use all four processors.

Radeon 48XX coming
nVidia can currently afford being lazy, as ATI doesn't compete on the high-end level, while being technologically more advanced once again. I hope that's about to change with the RV770 & co., as I'd love to see AMD/ATI survive. This article does a wrong calculation for the x2-version btw. If the architecture stays as un-original as it is now, there will be no real 2GB of ram or 512 Bit memory bandwidth, because it's really (almost ?) the same memory information in 2x1GB Ram with 2x256Bit bandwith, cloned for each chip.

anybody have any good trailers for upcoming movies
Yay for Indy, nah for StarTrek. I always waited for a Voyager movie, but they kept TNG and now return to Kirk - without the original crew. A shame, and will not help the franchise I dare predict. Amusement. It looks like an ordinary hollywood horror movie, but I like the rain, the music and the rust used in the trailer

is being dependent on xanax less dangerous? Anyway... is that picture for real? Unbelievable The nazis around here a disguised a bit better. If Mr. Zirkle's statements are not meant to be a distraction, he's severely retarded, and his opponent is quite kind calling it "backward opinions". Really, one can't be as stupid as Mr. Zirkle if not on purpose.

The Velociraptor
pf... At least they caused people to create a topic about a hard-drive. Not bad marketing if you ask me. The name is silly, of course: where do you think the raptor drives got their name from? I wouldn't buy an SSD until I know for sure that their live-cycle even when full is long enough, which it wasn't when I was up to date with the tech background on flash memory...

NASA discussing preliminary plans to build moon bases
Ha, the Dawn is great! Leading to scenes like "We're roughly 286'994'172'353 particles away from travelling speed" Sure, I'd prefer that too! It doesn't seem believable however, that when it comes to securing extraterestrial territory, the nations of the earth stand united. Cf. Russia and the north pole. I mean, I love the idea of space travel, exploring other planets/moons etc., and the technology involved/envisioned is amazing (and I'm European, thus not using emphatic words like "love", "amazing", "great" if I don't mean them ), but I just can't see it happen for a human collective in the near future.
